I almost touched the moon

Chapter 393 Because I Don’t Like Dogs

Wen Song slept until the afternoon due to exhaustion. When he woke up, the rain had stopped. Looking out the window, the sunlight shone through the clouds and was refracted into many beams of light, casting spots of light on the ground after the rain.

After the heavy rain, most of the cherry blossoms in the yard had fallen, and the pink fallen petals covered the entire courtyard. Many of them fell onto the water, overlapping layer upon layer.

She yawned and got up from the bed. Cheng Che came in at this time, hugged her from behind and said, "Are you hungry? Honey, I made fried shrimp. How about fried shrimp, hamburger meat and omelette rice tonight?"

"You think I'm Astrid." Wen Song smiled, turned around and looked at him and said, "I don't want to eat omelette rice. I want to eat the fried pork cutlet at Kashiwaya-cho."

"Okay, then sister, get up quickly, let's go eat fried pork chops." Cheng Che gently picked her up and kissed her forehead, "Do you want to wear a kimono?"

"I'm not wearing it anymore." Wen Song stretched lazily. "I can't eat if I wear that. I want to eat more tonight. I'm so hungry."

On the way to the restaurant, Wen Song received a FaceTime call from Wen Yiheng for the first time. She answered it with some surprise and saw a green field in the camera, with many little Samoyeds playing on the grass.

"Ilia, which one do you think looks more like Petty?" Wen Yiheng picked up the thinnest puppy and said, "I think this child looks a lot like Petty. Petty was also this thin, small and quiet when he was little."

When Wen Song heard the word An Jing, she was completely puzzled. She couldn't connect the word "An Jing" with Petty, who would destroy the house every day when they had a disagreement.

"Didn't you say you would never keep a dog again? Why are you buying a Samoyed?" Wen Song yawned, "Okay, let's go with this one. It's very cute."

Wen Yiheng chose the puppy and held it in his arms, then said to Wen Song, "Astrid told me that she wanted a puppy like Auntie Petty. She said she liked dogs better than cats because Cece couldn't go out with her. As her mother, didn't you know this all along? You should have given her a dog earlier."

"Because I don't like dogs." Wen Song said unhappily, "Dogs are troublesome. I only like butter puppies."

Wen Yiheng half-jokingly said: "You like your little puppy very much, ok, it's okay, I'm hanging up, bye."

Cheng Che also laughed and whispered to Wen Song, "Yes, sister only likes me, your little dog."

"Wait a minute." Wen Song thought of what happened before, and said to Wen Yiheng, "I wonder if it's normal for Astrid to like dogs, Lawyer Wen, do you know what I like?"

"I know, you like the Disney one, cookieann, and you like cats."

Wen Song muttered in her heart unhappily. Anyone who knew her knew these things. She thought of what she had said to Cheng Che in the morning, and couldn't help but mention it to Wen Yiheng.

Just as she expected, Wen Yiheng said in a daze: "Is there such a thing? You must have remembered it wrongly, honey, how could I say that to you. But Ilia, why do you hold a grudge so much? You told me about something that happened more than ten years ago today? So how do you want to solve it?"

"Forget it." Wen Song knew that arguing would not produce any results, so he said to Wen Yiheng, "I just said it casually. Hang up now. I'm going to eat."

After hanging up the phone, Cheng Che noticed Wen Song's unhappiness, and took advantage of the red light to kiss her cheek, "Don't be unhappy, my princess. Mom likes Astrid so much because she is your daughter. But honey, do we really want to get another Samoyed?"

Wen Song showed a gloating smile, looked at Cheng Che and said: "What should I do? Astrid loves dogs very much. Can you bear to make her sad? But, let me make it clear in advance that I will not walk the dog and I will not go out."

"Okay, I'll go for a walk." Cheng Che also smiled, holding Wen Song's left hand and said, "Don't worry, sister, I have experience."

After dinner, Wen Song felt a little full, so he and Cheng Che took a slow walk along the Kamo River. Most of the cherry blossoms in Kyoto have faded, and the spring break is over. There are fewer tourists, and the hustle and bustle of the peak season has faded.

The sun has set, leaving only a streak of orange-red sunset on the horizon. The shops on both sides of the river have lit up their warm yellow lights, which together with the setting sun, leave layers of reflections on the river.

A gust of wind blew by, bringing with it the coolness unique to late spring, and a faint scent of flowers in the coolness.

Wen Song let out a long sigh, looked at the crowd enjoying the cool breeze on the other side of the river, smiled, turned around and said to Cheng Che, "The weather is great."

"Yeah, honey, are you tired? If not, let's go for a walk." Cheng Che put his arm around her shoulders and stood on the river bank with her to quietly admire the sunset. Not far away, there were a few egrets landing on the grass in the river, which made the scene even more comfortable.

"Not tired." Wen Song smiled, holding his hand and continued to walk slowly forward. His eyes were attracted by the Shiba Inu walking by. "What a cute Shiba Inu."

After asking the owner, she squatted down and played with the puppy. Soon another woman joined them and chatted with the puppy in English.

When she raised her eyes, Wen Song and she met each other's eyes, and they were both a little surprised.

"Qian Lan?"

"Sister Ilia?!" Wu Qianlan was so excited that her voice unconsciously rose a few notes. She stood up and said, "What a coincidence, you are also in Kyoto."

Wen Song was seen wearing a short black and white striped knitted top, black shorts and black boots, and a black octagonal fisherman's hat. It was simple and casual, yet elegant.

She hugged Wen Song's arm affectionately and said, "Sister Ilia, how come you are still so beautiful? Your family has such good genes. You and my boss never age. I'm so envious. Sister, look at our tops. Are these couple outfits?"

"Yes, A-Che and I are here on vacation together. What a coincidence. Qianlan, are you free tomorrow? Do you want to come to our house for dinner?"

Wen Song looked at her with a smile. Wu Qianlan was also wearing a vertical striped white shirt and a black knitted vest, paired with a white long skirt and black flat shoes. Her outfit was much more casual than her usual work outfit.

Wu Qianlan then noticed Cheng Che, greeted him and asked, "Why are there only you and my sister? Where is your little princess?"

"I'm back in Zurich." Cheng Che said with a smile, "Why are you in Kyoto too?"

"This... is a long story." Wu Qianlan smiled and suggested, "If you are not in a hurry, why don't we find a place to sit down and talk slowly?"

"Okay." Wen Song agreed immediately. "There's a nice izakaya nearby. It's very quiet and the yakitori is delicious. Let's drink and chat."
