Stars fall and locust trees grow

Chapter 7 Maoqiu is a cunning beast, not a dog.

When they got to the big locust tree, Li Chi picked up a big rock and sat down, then angrily said to Wei Li who was following behind him: "I can't walk anymore, why don't I sleep here tonight!"

Wei Li said: "Then you wait here first, I just have some things to do."

Li Chi was puzzled: "Aren't you afraid that I will take the opportunity to run away?"

Wei Li raised his eyebrows and looked at him as if he were a fool.

Li Chi thought: Yes, as long as he has that blood contract, no matter where he runs, he can't escape from Wei Li's fat palm.

Before leaving, Wei Li took out the roast chicken from yesterday and threw it to him.

It is still fragrant and steaming hot.

Although I had figured out the matter about the spirit stones last night, I still had to pretend.

Li Chi quickly took the roast chicken, and before Wei Li opened his mouth again, he spat on the roast chicken: "Just fifteen spirit stones, no more."

Wei Li remained silent.

Li Chi didn't know how many years it had been since he had eaten meat. He was so happy that in just a quarter of an hour, he had eaten up all the roast chicken, leaving almost no bones.

After eating the roast chicken, Li Chi ate the remaining radish while squatting by the river watching the fish, wondering whether they would taste better braised or steamed.

By the time he had finished eating the radishes and had seen enough of the fish, Wei Li still hadn't come back. Li Chi had nothing to do, so he sat down under the big locust tree and closed his eyes to rest.

The early summer breeze accompanied by the fragrance of locust flowers was so cool and comfortable that Li Chi fell asleep accidentally. When he opened his eyes again, it was already slightly dark, but the lights in Shuozhou City were bright and it was still bustling.

Li Chi stretched lazily, and then felt his legs slightly itchy. He wondered if he was bitten by a mosquito.

When he lowered his head to take a closer look, he discovered that it was a small fiery red animal that had appeared out of nowhere, sniffing around his legs with its butt sticking up.

The little beast was covered in fur and looked like an ordinary domestic dog, but it had a pair of small horns on its head and its body was covered with leopard spots. It looked like it was a spiritual pet raised by a monk.

It sniffed Li Chi's body with its wet little nose, and from time to time it raised its head and tilted it to look at his face, revealing a very puzzled expression. Its pair of small eyes were black and bright, and Li Chi felt itchy inside.

Just ask yourself, how many people can stand being stared at by this furry little thing?

Li Chi stretched out his hand tentatively...

The little beast sniffed it and did not refuse.

Li Chi continued to test...

The little beast still didn't refuse.

then……

Li Chi successfully placed his hands on its little head and began to rub it vigorously.

After rubbing for a while, the little beast escaped from his clutches, jumped directly onto his legs, and continued to stare at his face with its head tilted.

Li Chi was a little strange.

Why was it staring at its face?

"Is it because I'm so good-looking?"

“But this is not my own face…”

and many more!

"It kept staring at my face. Could it be because..."

Does it recognize this face?!

Li Chi immediately broke out in a cold sweat.

This is not good.

He has just been resurrected for less than two days, and there are still a lot of troubles in his mind waiting to be solved. If he is recognized by others now, wouldn't it cause more trouble?

Thinking of this, Li Chi immediately picked up the furry little guy and put him on the ground, then raised his sleeves to cover his face, intending to find an empty corner to hide in.

But just as he was about to take a step, he found that the little guy suddenly began to tear his trouser legs hard, and made a low growl from his mouth, as if he didn't want him to leave.

Li Chi was anxious to escape, but he couldn't drag it with him, so he squatted down and began to persuade it with emotion and reason.

"If you don't loosen my trouser legs, I'm going to beat you... knock you out first, and then sell you to a dog meat restaurant... I'm telling you, I love eating dog meat the most..."

Just as Li Chi was talking nonstop, he heard a voice suddenly coming from above his head: "Maoqiu is a cunning beast, not a dog."

It turns out it’s called a hairball…

Li Chi raised his head and saw a young man in green standing in front of him. He was tall and slender, with a stern face, and a sky-blue pattern on his forehead, the same color as his clothes. Upon closer inspection, one could feel an indescribable sense of oppression for no reason.

The two of them stared at each other, and no one spoke. The atmosphere became a little awkward for a moment.

Finally, Li Chi's legs became numb from squatting, so he stood up slowly and reached out to scratch his head.

"Hehe! My fellow Taoist, this cute dog thing is yours...hahaha..."

After standing up, the distance between the two people became closer. Li Chi felt that the man in front of him, both in terms of clothes and face, looked very familiar, as if he had seen him somewhere. But before he could remember anything, he heard a sound of cloth tearing suddenly coming from under him.

The ball of hair tore a big hole in the corner of his trousers.

Li Chi raised his head helplessly and looked at the man in front of him.

"Fellow Daoist! Your pet... the fur ball seems to be tearing my pants... and you don't care about it?!"

If you keep talking like this, I'm going to run naked!

Unexpectedly, the man seemed not to have heard what he said. He just squinted his narrow eyes and stared at him without blinking.

That expression was exactly the same as the fur ball's just now.

Li Chi felt a little unhappy.

Is there something wrong with this person's brain?

It’s bad enough that his own spirit pet doesn’t look favorably upon it, but now it’s actually here watching the fun. Didn’t his master teach him that he needs to leash his pet when walking it?

Just when Li Chi was thinking about how to ask for compensation after cursing in his heart, he saw several people suddenly rushing over, surrounding the man and starting to bow in unison.

"Greetings, Little Master."

Li Chi looked carefully. Isn't this a coincidence? The people who came were the group of Mingyuejian disciples who had stayed at the charity cemetery last night.

The leaders are still Gu Huaiyi and Zeng Muhan.

Zeng Muhan naturally saw Li Chi as well. He nodded slightly to Li Chi first, then turned to the man and said, "Just now Huaiyi found that Maoqiu was missing, so he called everyone out to look for it. Who would have thought that it would run here!"

As soon as Zeng Muhan finished speaking, he heard Gu Huaiyi yelling at Li Chi: "Why is it you?"

Seeing that he looked as if he was facing a formidable enemy, Li Chi found it funny and couldn't help but teasing him.

"It's me! What's the matter!"

"How could you be with Maoqiu? He is the future spiritual ancestor of our Mingyuejian, and he has signed a soul contract with our little master. No one else can touch him except our little master!"

"Really?"

Li Chi picked up the ball of fur, pulled out a piece of cloth from its mouth, and then stroked its head twice.

"But I think Maoqiu likes me very much."

Gu Huaiyi was so angry that his lips trembled.

"You! You! You! What kind of evil spell did you cast on the fur ball?!"

Li Chi kissed Maoqiu directly on his nose.

"Of course it's because of love!"
