In the ordinary life of Crayon Shin-chan

Chapter 1488 Mother's Coming-of-Age Ceremony (Part 2)

Seeing Misae's expression, Shin-chan deliberately tried to provoke her: "But what if this gets found out~"

"No, no, it's just one book~ Anyway, it was printed with our own taxes," Misae said with a grin.

Mingxu shrugged: "If they come looking for us, we'll just return it to them."

“Yeah~” Misae stuck out her tongue and looked at the two little ones with a grin.

Suddenly, a male voice came from the side: "Ah, I'm sorry."

"Huh?" The three of them were taken aback and turned around to look, only to find a man and a woman staring at them.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'll give it back to you, please forgive me, I won't do it again next time," Misae quickly said to them.

"Mom." Mingxu pulled Meiya back, somewhat speechless. You admitted it too quickly.

"Huh?" Misae looked at Mingxu with some confusion, then heard the voice on the other end: "You misunderstood. I meant we're going to sing karaoke later. Do you want to come with us?"

"Huh?" Misae looked a little stunned when she saw their invitation.

"Yeah, it's more lively with more people." They then looked at the two little ones: "Little brothers, do you want to join us?"

"Hehe~ Okay~" Shin-chan has absolutely no resistance to older sisters.

"Let's go together." Seeing that Xiaoxin agreed, she looked at Mingxu again. Mingxu took Meiya's hand, and his meaning was clear.

He looked up at Misae and invited her again, "Let's go, come along."

"But..." Misae hesitated.

Seeing this, the man also invited, "It's alright, it's alright, let's go together."

Shin-chan also shouted to Misae, "Go on, go on~"

"Okay." Seeing this, Misae agreed, but she felt a little awkward. As someone who had been in the workforce for so long, would she be unable to find topics to talk about with a group of young people?

She reluctantly entered the karaoke room, where a group of people were chatting. Misae was holding a song list, picking out songs to sing, her face showing some anxiety: "Coming here is fine, but what songs should I sing? By the way, what songs do 20-year-olds sing these days?"

Looking at the singers' names and songs, Misae became even more confused: "Ugh, why are all the singers' names so weird these days?"

Seeing Meiya's conflicted expression, Mingxu went over to help her flip through a few pages and then pointed to those songs: "These few are quite popular right now, and they're sung by female voices. Mom, they should be good."

"Oh? Really?" Misae was pleasantly surprised. Looking at the song title, she nodded. It seemed alright.

Meiya picked up the melody book of one of the songs, carefully looked at the lyrics, silently memorized the melody, and a confident smile gradually appeared on her face. She turned to look at Mingxu, her eyes sparkling with excitement: "Mingxu, this is it! Mommy will try this one!" Mingxu smiled and nodded, encouraging her: "Mommy, you can definitely sing it very well!"

Just then, Shin-chan came over and asked curiously, "Mom, what song are you going to sing? I want to hear it too." Misae smiled and patted Shin-chan's head, saying mysteriously, "You'll find out in a bit, I guarantee you'll be very surprised." Shin-chan blinked his eyes, looking expectant, which made Misae even more determined to perform well.

As the music started, Misae picked up the microphone, took a deep breath, and slowly began to sing.

Her voice was gentle and captivating, perfectly conveying the emotions in the song. Everyone present was drawn to her singing, casting admiring glances at her. Xiao Xin, in particular, was completely mesmerized, clapping and cheering incessantly.

After finishing her song, Misae put down the microphone, a satisfied smile on her face. She looked at Mingxu and Xiaoxin and asked, "How was it? Did Mommy sing pretty well?"

Mingxu gave a thumbs up and exclaimed sincerely, "Mom, you sang so well! You sound just like a professional singer!" It has to be said that Meiya's voice was indeed very good. Although she missed a few notes, considering she's not a professional, her level was quite impressive.

After everyone else finished singing, they chatted while listening to each other sing.

However, at this point, Misae looked a little embarrassed. What were they talking about?

'Oh dear, I'm starting to fall behind their conversation.' Seeing this, Misae frowned a little. Shin-chan had run up and started singing along when others were singing, especially when the older girls were singing together. Everyone was welcoming to Shin-chan, often holding the microphone to his mouth and singing along with him.

Shin-chan's cheerful singing and lively actions made the atmosphere even more enthusiastic, but Misae felt increasingly out of place among these young people. Most of the celebrity gossip and campus anecdotes they talked about were things Misae had never heard of, so she could only awkwardly smile and occasionally chime in.

Just then, a girl noticed Misae's embarrassment and approached her to strike up a conversation: "Sister, you look so elegant! What do you usually like to do?" Misae paused for a moment, then smiled and replied, "I usually like to do housework and take care of the kids." The girl's eyes lit up, and she said, "Taking care of kids must be hard work, but it must be fun too. My sister has a kid too, and he's really mischievous." Hearing this, Misae felt a sense of resonance and began chatting with the girl about taking care of children, from their mischievous antics to heartwarming moments. The two hit it off immediately.

Seeing their lively conversation, other young people gathered around, sharing their own anecdotes about children. Misae gradually relaxed, blending into this vibrant group, her face beaming with joy. She realized that despite the age difference, everyone shared a love for life and a passion for happiness.

Before they knew it, time flew by, and the karaoke event was drawing to a close. Everyone stood up and said goodbye. The couple who had invited Misae over came over and said sincerely, "We had a wonderful time singing and chatting with you today. We hope we'll have the chance to hang out again sometime." Misae smiled and nodded, "I was very happy too. Today was truly unforgettable."

As the sun set, Misae led her two little ones on their way home.

Looking at the two little ones, Misae suddenly spoke up: "Shin-chan, I'm sorry, we didn't go to the department store."

"It's okay, I don't have anything I want to buy, and we had a lot of fun today," Mingxu said with a smile to Meiya.

"It's okay, anyway, I sang a lot of songs with the pretty older sister. Mom, you also got a souvenir from your coming-of-age ceremony, that's great!" Shin-chan shook his head and looked at Misae with a grin.

"Ah, I'll return this to them at the agency tomorrow," Misae said gently to the two little ones, looking at the bag in her hand.

"Huh? Why?" The two little ones looked at Misae with some confusion.

Misae looked at them and said, "Because it's wrong to do this, we can't lie to people."

"Yeah." Mingxu nodded.

Shin-chan looked at Misae and suddenly said, "Okay, then I'll give the souvenir to Mom after my coming-of-age ceremony!"

"Yes, we'll give all the coming-of-age gifts to Mom." Mingxu glanced at Shin-chan with some surprise, then looked at Misae and said, "That Shin-chan, sometimes it's really hard to tell if he's sensible or not."

Looking at the two little ones, Misae's eyes welled up with tears: "Thank you, then I'll wait for you. Waiting for Asahi and Shin-chan to turn twenty~ I'm really looking forward to it~"
