Operation Red Book

Chapter 69 Do demons also have heartbeats?

Deep in the dense forest, the cold moonlight parted the layers of branches and leaves, casting spots of light on the ground.

Away from the sounds of violin and piano in the mansion, the chirping insects in the woods sounded even noisier to Ivy.

Dorian's long black nails were still on Ivy's neck, and the two had walked some distance into the woods.

Ivy's hair had long been scattered, and her shiny black hair fell to her waist, gently brushing Dorian's fingers.

"Stop, turn around."

Dorian Sen's cold voice came from behind, coupled with the cold touch of his nails, Ivy couldn't help but shiver again.

Ivy took a deep breath, trying to control her pounding heart and panic.

"I won't turn. You look so scary." She turned her head and said tremblingly.

"Tsk!"

Dorian made a dissatisfied sound, and the nails on his neck seemed to be a little harder.

"It's changed back. Turn around."

Dorian's voice was so cold that Ivy trembled all over and turned around slowly. She lowered her head and closed her eyes tightly.

"You still say I'm scary, but now with your hair loose and your face pale, you're much scarier than me."

Dorian sneered, gradually moving closer to Ivy.

Feeling the chill from Dorian, Ivy unconsciously moved her feet back.

She tilted her head to one side and stretched her hands forward, hitting them wildly, as if this would keep Dorian from getting close to her.

Dorian grabbed her flailing hands and pulled her shaking arms apart, one at each wrist.

Ivy staggered and fell into Dorian's arms. Her face was pressed against Dorian's neck, and the alarm bells in her heart were ringing.

Dorian gathered her hands behind her back, pulled off the rope around her waist and tied Ivy's hands behind her waist.

Feeling Dorian's hot breath next to her ear, Ivy couldn't help but shiver on the spot.

She stood stiffly, biting her lower lip, trying not to draw his attention to her presence.

The sudden shaking in his arms made Dorian impatient again. After tying a knot in the rope, Dorian found that he had already hugged Ivy from the front.

Ivy's smooth and soft hair rubbed against his cheek, carrying the fragrance of camellia. Dorian suddenly felt a part of his heart itching along with his cheek.

His senses gradually moved downward, and this time he felt the slight trembling of the thing in his arms - small, warm, and soft, a living life beating in his hands.

An unknown emotion was running rampant in his heart, as if it was going to break through the defenses of his chest, knocking the little life in his arms to the ground. He then pressed down on it, watching the heat turn into cold, the soft turn into hard, and the beating turn into dead silence.

Dorian's eyes were empty, as if they had lost focus. His breathing became heavy, and every exhalation hit Ivy's ears hard, blowing up her long hair slightly.

Dorian was breathing freely at the tip of Ivy's ear, but Ivy on the other side was holding her breath until she was about to faint.

"Um, are you tied up?"

Ivy answered with a heavy nasal voice, and it sounded like she was about to suffocate.

Dorian suddenly came back to his senses, and his olive eyes regained focus.

He blinked and pushed Ivy away from his arms. Ivy lost her balance and fell backwards to the ground.

Dorian was still breathing heavily, his heart almost beating in his throat.

The heat rose up his neck to his forehead, which made him a little overwhelmed.
