Operation Red Book
Chapter 4: Time Travel to the Victorian Era
"That's it."
Ivy told Joshua the whole story, and they immediately realized the important prop for time travel - the red book.
"Oh no! That's terrible!"
Ivy jumped up as if her butt was on fire and groped around in the car.
"It's gone. The red book is gone. I remember I was holding it when I woke up."
Ivy looked sad and sighed, "It must have fallen into that carriage, but I don't want to go back to that corpse..."
As if she remembered the horrific scene again, Ivy's face turned pale, her blue lips trembled, and she began to sob again.
Just when Joshua didn't know what to do next, there were several knocks on the door of the carriage.
Joshua asked Ivy in a low voice, and after getting her consent, he opened the door of the box.
The ones who came in were Holmes and Moriarty, followed by a muscular man with a thick beard and wearing a red uniform.
Holmes and Moriarty both sat on the bench opposite Ivy, and the unknown man gently closed the box door and then stood aside.
"Mr. Williams, this is Mr. Walter, the conductor of this train."
Moriarty glanced at the two people in front of him and took off his coat as he spoke.
He walked up to Ivy, gently covered her legs, and then handed her a towel.
"Is this lady an acquaintance of yours?"
"Thank you, sir. Just call me Joshua. This is Miss Ivy. We are... friends, friends, brother and sister."
Ivy tilted her head and looked at Joshua with red eyes in confusion.
Not only her, but everyone in the box subconsciously froze in place, and the atmosphere began to become awkward.
The two people's distinct Eastern and Western looks are really hilarious.
Joshua touched his head sheepishly and blinked his eyes: "We are the children of a reconstituted family. She is from China."
Ivy bit her lip and turned her head back, wiping the tears from her face with the handkerchief she had just received, then raised her head and looked at the three people opposite her.
Moriarty coughed twice and continued, "I'm really sorry, Miss Ivy has been accused of being a suspect in this case. Please cooperate with our investigation."
"Me? I'm the suspect? I'm the victim."
Ivy's eyes widened, and her voice was clearly filled with tears.
She stood up hastily as she finished her words, and Moriarty's brown coat slid to the ground.
Joshua hurriedly pressed Ivy's shoulders and asked her to sit down, and said while comforting her: "Yes, yes, we will cooperate."
He picked up the coat on the ground, shook it, put it on Ivy's legs again, and whispered quietly:
"In this era, ladies are not allowed to show their legs. You are wearing a short skirt and are in front of adult men. This is not in line with their etiquette. You should cover it up first."
Ivy was confused for a moment after hearing this. She frowned and asked in a low voice: "What era is this? Where are we now?"
When asked this question, Ivy suddenly recalled the retro clothes these people were wearing:
The men all wore thick straight coats like Moriarty, and the women had their hair in buns piled high on their heads.
They wore long skirts that dragged on the ground, with the hems of their skirts spread out in all directions, the cuffs flared out in a wide flared shape, their waists were exaggeratedly thin, and their hips were high and raised.
Who would have thought that Joshua's answer would make her head, which was already about to explode, swell even more.
"I don't quite understand either. Let's solve the problem at hand. These two are Mr. Holmes and Mr. Moriarty."
"They are actually living people?"
It came out almost instantly, and as expected, Ivy was scolded by Holmes.
"How rude! Shut up!"
Ivy was startled by Holmes' tone. She looked at Holmes's wide-open collar and turned to Moriarty and said:
"You can ask me. I only know that I didn't kill that man. I don't know him. He was already dead when I woke up."
Moriarty nodded, watched her open her mouth, paused for a few seconds, then sighed, turned around and raised his hand to touch Holmes: "You should say it, don't be too direct."
Holmes crossed his legs again, looked at them seriously and asked, "Are you vampires?"
"Don't be too direct, Mr. Holmes."
