Operation Red Book

Chapter 2 The Origin is a Weird Dream

Ivy has had the same dream for five days in a row.

There was an open space in the dream, and a blurry figure stood in the mist.

It was the back of a person wearing a Western women's dress and holding a small umbrella.

The dress and the small umbrella were all white, which made her black hair falling to her waist particularly eye-catching.

The back figure slowly turned around and looked at Ivy in front of him.

It is noteworthy that the face under the small umbrella is exactly the same as Ivy's.

Somehow, Ivy always felt that she could communicate with that figure.

Once she meets that look, resentment and sorrow will quickly wrap around her and drill into her heart like a poisonous snake biting its prey.

This dream was different from the previous ones. When Ivy was overwhelmed with emotions and pain, the figure behind her said to her softly: "This is your fate."

"It's your fate!"

The picture quickly blurred, and Ivy woke up from her dream with a scream, but the pain in her heart did not dissipate for a long time.

"What a broken dream! How can it automatically block the alarm ringtone?"

Ivy ran all the way to the classroom door, leaned against the wall, breathed heavily, and tried to calm her heart that was about to jump out of her throat.

She glanced quietly into the classroom and happened to meet Joshua's eyes, who was sitting at the edge of the classroom.

Joshua is British. He is almost invisible in the crowd and always appears in various places in the school in a mysterious way.

He has an average appearance, an average family background, and is tall and thin, also of average stature.

Ivy had never spoken a word to him, not even a greeting. After two years as classmates, Ivy could only associate the flaxen curly-haired British boy with the name Joshua.

Ivy is different. After her parents divorced when she was 10 years old, her mother immigrated to the UK with her.

Although she has been living in the UK, Ivy still has a strong sense of belonging to her motherland and has always been extremely proud of her Chinese ancestry.

In order to show the excellence of Chinese children, she tried her best to do her best in everything, whether it was study, sports, summer camp, or competitions in various subjects, she was always among the best.

In terms of interpersonal communication, Ivy's ability to speak differently to different people has already successfully conquered teachers and classmates throughout the school. With her straightforward personality and elegant temperament, she has become a leader in everyone's hearts.

This led to one of Ivy's personality traits - she was very wild and did whatever she wanted.

When she saw the teens squinting at her, she would punch and kick them.

When the greasy Italian boy harassed her, he just posted an Instagram post and a live broadcast.

The mean girls in the same class would deliberately sneer and suppress her by rolling their eyes and making an "international friendly gesture".

Xiao Kuang suddenly became a happy and healthy person, and Da Kuang suddenly became a frequent visitor to the principal's office.

Unfortunately, the amiable principal could not escape Ivy's usual trick - crying and acting pitiful.

In the end, no matter what, Ivy was right. Her passionate words and tearful attacks always made the principal surrender.

But now, everything has turned upside down. Ivy was inexplicably involved with Joshua, and the honor she had worked so hard to build was destroyed in an instant.

"It's all because of that dream!" Ivy cried and leaned on Joshua's shoulder.

The situation is too complicated now, I really can’t go crazy anymore.

As soon as Joshua closed the door of the box, Ivy could no longer control her emotions. She hugged Joshua and burst into tears on his shoulder.

He panicked for a moment, waving his hands in the air in confusion.

After a while, he stiffly touched Ivy's head and back, trying to calm her down.

Joshua could understand Ivy's mood at the moment. When he woke up, he found himself lying at the murder scene, with a strange crowd pointing and talking.

In view of this situation, even the Pope from the Vatican would not be able to hold back the tears in his eyes, let alone a little girl who had just come of age.

I don't know how much time had passed, but Ivy sat on a chair beside her, sobbing with her head down.

Joshua leaned against the door of the box, looking at the scenery outside the window in confusion. The two were far apart.

It was still early morning and the sun had not yet released its rays.

There were floating clouds in the sky and a cold mist in the air.

A breeze blew across the lake, causing many ripples. The emerald green reflections on the water surface floated left and right, being shaken beyond their original shape.

Joshua was still reeling from the shock of meeting Holmes and Moriarty, who were nothing like he had imagined.

James Moriarty, in particular, does not look like the "Napoleon of crime" or the "arch-enemy of Sherlock Holmes".

His voice was too gentle and calm, and his words to Joshua were also in a gentle and slow tone:

"Excuse me, may I ask your name?"

Moriarty couldn't help but break the silence and woke up Joshua, who was stunned by the situation.

"Sorry, my name is Joshua Williams and I'm a high school student in London."

"Is it Sigma College, Bathan Road, London?"

Joshua nodded, and just as he was wondering how Moriarty knew that, he looked down and saw the emblem and name of Sigma School on his uniform shirt.

Moriarty looked serious, tapping his knee lightly with his right hand, as if he was thinking about something.

"Hey, kid! You still haven't told me how you suddenly appeared!"

Holmes reached forward, grasped Joshua by the collar, and lifted him upright.

Joshua is not much shorter than Holmes, but his physique is a whole circle smaller than the muscular Holmes, and he looks very weak.

Joshua's thick glasses tilted to one side, and he spoke with difficulty: "I forgot, I really forgot..."

"what--"

A miserable scream broke the tense atmosphere.

"Murder! Murder! Murder!"

For a moment, the three men's hair stood on end. Holmes and Moriarty reacted quickly, turned around and ran towards the direction of the sound.

Holmes suddenly let go, causing Joshua to fall into his seat in panic.

Everything happened so fast. Exciting information flooded into his mind like a flood, swirling around in a tangled mess.

Joshua tapped his head, and a sudden idea made him sober up.

"Where's Ivy? Ivy should have fallen down with me!"

"I, I remember, in the darkness, when the blinding white light came, I couldn't hold on any longer and let go of her ankles..."

Regardless of his still numb legs and feet, he used his hands and feet to crawl towards the direction of the sound.

"Murder? Who died? It couldn't be classmate Ivy..."

Without having time to think too much, Joshua pushed through the crowd and squeezed to the front. Ivy and the blood-covered carriage made his heart drop suddenly and then rise again.

He immediately stepped forward and helped Ivy up, holding her hand as he walked through the crowd that was avoiding them, and slowly walked to the empty box next door.
