Operation Red Book

Chapter 184: Continuous Flow of Energy

The sun still shines in the blue sky, illuminating the vast land, unaffected by any human influence.

Maybe, the sun thought so, it looked into the distance, it seemed that there were piles of dark clouds rolling towards this side.

"Symmetry is the goal, isn't it? Just crush a rose bed of the same size on the other side."

"It won't look pretty if it does. There's a hole in the flowerbed, and the guests will notice it."

"Then put a sign in the gap. It should be big, bright, and harmonious. You can write some welcoming words and slogans on it."

"Okay, I'll ask the gardener for instructions as the young lady asked."

A thin maid bowed to Ivy, her headdress half askew, and hurriedly left the reception room.

"Quickly repair the kitchen and replenish all the ingredients and supplies. First, ask the residents outside the manor, or borrow them from the nearest manor. Make sure the banquet goes on tonight."

"But what about lunch? Madam will be eating soon."

"Aren't the chefs trying their best to fix it? The portion size should be fine, it's already quite large. There are so many dishes, we definitely can't finish them... How about this, learn from French restaurants, serve less and decorate more upscale."

"Yes, I will do as you command."

The fat maids bowed to Ivy, her belt loosened, and she trotted out of the room.

"What about Madam?"

The last servant asked timidly, rubbing his hands nervously and twisting his eyebrows into two knots.

"Then there's even less need to worry." Ivy touched the emerald bracelet on her wrist, her tone light.

"Her beloved baby is still by her side. Isn't it his specialty to comfort the lady?"

The corners of Ivy's mouth curved up, her eyebrows raised, and she looked at Dorian and the head butler beside her.

The head butler had a sad face as he combed Dorian's tangled hair and mended his torn shirt.

Dorian had a look of aggrieved expression on his face. He hung his arms and rubbed the bruises at the corners of his mouth, looking like a little wolf cub who had been severely punished.

In another room, where the sun shines, thick curtains block out the light.

Mrs. Emerson's room was very dark and damp, and two or three servants were fanning the bed diligently.

The lady was lying on the bed, moaning softly. Her head was covered with sweat and there were scratches and bruises on her exposed skin, which were the marks caused by the rose when she fell off the horse.

Her legs and waist were swollen and painful, and the extreme pain made her tremble violently from time to time. The painkillers prescribed by the doctor had no effect at all.

The lady felt a little regretful, but not too much. What she regretted was that she had insisted on being stubborn, insisted on jumping over the high fence, and insisted on thinking that this wild horse she had just met could be comparable to the royal Arabian horse.

She never thought she would be injured, let alone so seriously injured. Twenty years ago she was clearly the best rider in London. Damn this marriage.

Dorian had prepared carefully for her for so long, she didn't want his efforts to go to waste, and she didn't want to see the sadness and disappointment on his face.

Thinking of this, the lady struggled to move, but the severe pain from her waist was unbearable like a knife cutting. She screamed in pain and fell back onto the bed.

This frightened the servants who were taking care of the room. Some of them could no longer bear the pressure and ran out of the room crying.

"Don't... tell my children, don't..."

The lady spoke weakly, but unfortunately her voice was unclear and no one heard it.

She could only pray in her heart, asking God to at least relieve her of some of the pain, to forgive her for just one day.

"Mother...my mother..."

A young voice with a slight cry came from a distance, like a deep stream in an empty valley, awakening the lady who was in dire straits. Dorian stood beside her bed without her knowing.

Mrs. Emerson's eyes moved as her hot hand was grabbed by a pair of cold hands.

The pain in my body is not so obvious anymore, at least I can endure it without making any sound.

"Dorian, my child, dear, I'm all right, I'll be down to lunch with you in a minute," she said in a halting voice.

"Lunch is not ready yet, mother. I am really exhausted from riding today. Please take a rest first."

Dorian's words were unquestionable. Although they made the lady feel a bit chilly, they also brought some warmth to her heart.

Fatigue came over her and sleepiness came from all directions. The lady nodded with her last bit of strength and closed her eyes as she wished.

Dorian slowly lifted Mrs. Emerson's hands and pressed his cold lips against them. An invisible force surged into Mrs. Emerson's body and flowed through her meridians.

The lady's body arched slightly, as if there were a pair of invisible big hands beneath her.

The scars of all sizes gradually became lighter and lighter, and finally healed into a complete piece of skin. The skin on the right leg and waist surged like water waves, changing into various shapes.

Dorian asked all the servants to leave, and the head maid was guarding the door. As the air circulated, she was surprised to find some green light coming out of the cracks in the ground. It looked very gentle, like the holy light bestowed by God.

After an unknown amount of time, the azure holy light gradually disappeared, and the white walnut door erected a barrier between tranquility and noise.

Then, the door made a sound of being locked, and Dorian invited everyone in, asking them to stay by his wife's side and call the doctor again when she woke up. Then he quietly left the room.

The head maid looked at the lady's relaxed brows and gradually steady breathing. She felt a little hesitant, but she finally let go of the worry in her heart.

"Listen to Master Dorian and call the doctor. Madam will be well soon."

The head maid lowered her voice and spoke with a very happy and joyful tone.

"God heard our prayers and sent angels who are lurking beside us."
