Operation Red Book

The nights in June are breezy and cool, not as cold as a knife in winter, nor as hot as a furnace in summer.

Mrs. Hudson obviously enjoyed the cool temperature tonight. After dinner, she called everyone in 221-B out, calling it a pleasant after-dinner chat.

But Mrs. Hudson didn't like to start a conversation. She took a ball of wool and sat on the soft sofa, knitting a sweater, a hat, or a scarf?

Ivy couldn't figure out what the colorful ball resting on Mrs. Hudson's lap was. She thought the color combination was suitable for Christmas, but Christmas was still more than six months away.

Holmes sat aside humming a song, holding a stack of newspapers in his hands, covering his face tightly, and from time to time making some annoying noises of turning pages - the noise of the newspapers was really too loud.

Ivy and Joshua sat together on the sofa. Ivy played finger games with herself, while Joshua dozed off like a chick pecking at rice.

Although they each held a book in their hands, they could not muster any interest.

One finds English blinding and only wants to read simplified Chinese; the other finds romance novels difficult to read and prefers to read police case reports.

Today is indeed a very cool night, but Ivy only feels that the air is hot and unbearable, and her mood is in a mess.

There were endless sighs and time was moving slower than a snail.

When the thumb of her right hand once again defeated the middle finger of her left hand, Ivy sighed deeply helplessly.

"Why didn't I bring a cell phone when I traveled through time?" she muttered softly, her eyes wide open.

"There's no use bringing it without the Internet," Joshua replied in a low voice.

"But I have Plants vs. Zombies on my phone, a stand-alone game that doesn't connect to the internet."

"It wouldn't have made it this far without a charger."

"You're as boring as everyone else here!"

Ivy raised her voice angrily, and Joshua shrank his neck and collapsed as if he had been shot.

"You're right. People nowadays are so boring, and you're the same. You talk about cell phones, zombies, the Internet and other things... If you don't know, you would think you are a cabinet secretary."

Holmes said this in a dull voice, his voice sounding a little hoarse.

When Ivy thought about her life in the 21st century, the first person she thought of was Sherlock Holmes.

Her eyes lit up, and her tone became noticeably cheerful: “Joshua, Joshua!”

"Who's your favorite Sherlock Holmes?"

Joshua touched the back of his head and his brows visibly furrowed.

"I, I don't know, I seldom watch TV. Maybe, maybe it's Jeremy Bright? I even think he is Sherlock Holmes himself."

"But the real Sherlock Holmes is sitting next to you reading the newspaper."

"I, I don't know. In fact, the Mr. Holmes here is a little different from the Sherlock Holmes created by Conan Doyle."

"Huh?" Ivy blinked and sighed in confusion.

Ivy doesn't like reading detective novels and doesn't know much about Sherlock Holmes.

She had only seen Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch and Elementary with Johnny Miller.

The image inside is indeed very different from the Sherlock Holmes here. The Sherlock Holmes here is extremely irritable and smokes cigarettes all day long like water.

"First of all, how come he and Mr. Moriarty have such a good relationship? James Moriarty is Holmes' number one enemy, but now... but..."

Joshua paused, secretly glanced at Holmes who was sitting upright, and his cheeks instantly turned red.

"Like a couple, right? I really like their couple in Sherlock Holmes!"

"No, it's just that... Mr. Holmes always pursues Mr. Moriarty relentlessly, like a harasser..."

"Ahem! Shut up!"

A sudden cough came from under Holmes' newspaper, shutting up Ivy and Joshua.

Ivy and Joshua returned to their boredom. During this time, Ivy saw Mrs. Hudson couldn't help but curl her lips several times and coughed a few times.

It was so boring to just sit there, and the gradually heated atmosphere made Ivy unable to help but start talking to Joshua.
