Traveling through the primitive world: I was a priest in the tribe
Chapter 1 Is this a time travel?
The moment the accident happened, Ji Lang was a little slow to react. The sun, which was clearly behind him, suddenly appeared in front of him. The strong light stung his eyes. When he wanted to brake to stop, he found that the car had been forced to stop on the overgrown ground.
Unable to keep his balance, he fell to the ground in a mess.
Clearly, in the previous second, there was a flat road in front of me and a small snow-capped mountain in the distance, but in the next second it turned into a wilderness with grass taller than people and endless mountains.
After being stunned for a few seconds, Ji Lang stood up and looked back. The weeds and mountains were still the same, and there was no trace of when he came here.
The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only the occasional call of a bird or two, followed by long, overlapping echoes, making the sound of his pounding heartbeat seem especially loud.
Ji Lang silently repeated several words to calm himself down, but sadly found that he could not force himself to calm down at all. In panic, he could only decide to return the same way he came.
Pushing the cart in the mountains where there was nothing to see except wild grass to see if there was a road ahead, he was exhausted after less than ten minutes of walking. He had to believe that he had encountered a supernatural event. He could not find the way he came and he could not go back.
At this moment, he hoped very much that he was in a dream, because the heat and tension caused a dull pain in his wrists, which were scratched by various weeds when he rolled up his sleeves. The soreness in his arms and legs also reminded him that this was not a dream.
After calming down a little, he suddenly remembered his cell phone that he had almost forgotten. The moment he took out his phone with trepidation, Ji Lang prayed silently in his heart that there would be no signal.
He took off his gloves to unlock the phone, then looked at the four dots in the upper left corner of the screen and the three big words "No Service" next to it. Ji Lang felt that he could only use this phone to write a suicide note, and there was a high probability that it would not even be seen.
After sitting on the fallen car and resting for a while, the initial panic gradually dissipated. Ji Lang looked around carefully, and the fear that had just been suppressed surged into his heart again.
There are patches of wild grass one or two meters high, and towering trees on the mountains on both sides that require several people to hug. There is no telling how many dangers are hidden there.
Moreover, the grass was so thick that there should be a lot of snakes and insects. Thinking about how he had been rushing around in such a dangerous place for more than ten minutes, he thought that the wilderness survival skills he had learned before had been forgotten by the dog.
Standing up and picking up the fallen car, Ji Lang began to untie the engineer shovel he used to secure the luggage. In the wild, this was a useful thing, as it could be used as both a weapon and a tool.
But now the problem has come. The engineer shovel has been taken off. What should he do with his two large backpacks? It is in the wilderness and he has no idea of the specific situation. He only has these limited supplies and he definitely cannot throw them away.
After securing the car, he used an engineer shovel to clear away the weeds that blocked his view, looked up the hillside, and found some short trees. He climbed up, picked out one that looked relatively sturdy, and began to chop it down.
The tools were handy and it took only a short while to cut the trees. The extra branches and twigs were cut off, leaving only the trunk to use instead of the engineer shovel to fix the saddle bag.
After re-fixing it and placing the engineer shovel in a convenient location so that he could pick it up immediately in case of an emergency, Ji Lang pushed the cart and set off again.
But it is really difficult to walk at the foot of the mountain. The grass blocks your view and you can't see what is ahead. You also have to be careful to see if there are thorny grass piles on the ground that may pierce your tires.
Ji Lang pushed the cart forward with difficulty, thinking with his limited knowledge of wilderness survival. He currently had all the equipment, medicines, and food for camping in the wild, but he was running out of water, which could only last for one day at most. His primary goal now was to find a water source.
I looked at the time on my watch and it was almost twelve o'clock. It would be best if we could find a place with water to set up our tent before dark.
I just glanced at the sun which was still behind me, and it didn't look like twelve o'clock from this angle.
I don't know whether it is morning or afternoon now.
Fortunately, the sun was rising, and around two o'clock in the afternoon, Ji Lang, who was so hungry that his stomach was sticking to his back, finally heard the sound of flowing water.
After walking a few dozen meters following the sound, a small river appeared in front of us.
It looks like water coming down from the mountain. The water flows very fast, but it is very clear and clean.
Ji Lang looked around for some dead wood and leaves, took out a lighter and pressure cooker from his bag, and made some porridge to eat.
He felt a little relieved that he had bought some rice and noodles, otherwise he might have to consider digging wild vegetables to fill his stomach.
After eating and drinking and resting for a while and cleaning up the fire, Ji Lang decided to look for a place to stay nearby.
He found a patch of lush grass and hid his bicycle and luggage. Although the place looked deserted, what if something unexpected happened? These were all his belongings, and it would be terrible if they were taken away by other people or animals.
Holding an engineer shovel and carrying a backpack, Ji Lang began to climb up the mountain.
As he walked and looked around, he saw some of the grass and trees that he recognized, such as the reeds by the river and the purslane and bracken that were everywhere on the mountains.
At least when we run out of ammunition and food, we won’t starve to death.
After searching for a while, we finally found a good camping spot halfway up the mountain.
It was a flat piece of land that was sunken inwards. Ji Lang simply cleared away some weeds that were in the way and took a look. He thought it was suitable for setting up a tent. The location was inconspicuous and could also block the wind and rain.
After finding a good location, Ji Lang walked up the mountain to take a look at the specific geographical environment here.
The endless mountains and boundless wilderness make people feel uneasy for no reason.
Ji Lang is still doubting whether he is dreaming or not. This sense of unreality makes him feel a little dazed.
I wonder if Mr. Yang and Lao Zhang, who are still in the abandoned house, will return after they can no longer contact him. Don't be stupid and freeze there. After all, who would have thought that he could travel through time by riding a bicycle? Ji Lang is a cycling enthusiast. This is a cycling plan he made specifically to celebrate his graduation from university. This time the plan is to take 318 to Lhasa, and he has made an appointment with friends from the cycling association to meet in Lhasa.
He went to college locally, and when he got home on the day he received his diploma, it was already past noon. His grandmother knew he was back, so she left some rice, a plate of stir-fried meat, and a plate of vegetables in the pot for him.
The old lady went to the clinic to bring food to her old man.
Ji Lang was watching videos while eating. There was a video about four-dimensional space, and the idea was very interesting.
It says that different time and space are like continuously spreading straight lines, each line has its own direction, but occasionally two lines will briefly intersect, and then start again in their respective directions, never to meet again.
He just watched it for fun and forgot about it after he was done and didn't take it seriously.
After finishing the remaining food, Ji Lang packed his equipment for the trip.
He had been preparing these things for several weeks, and now he just needed to take inventory according to the precautions that Teacher Yang had given him.
He met Teacher Yang on the cycling trail during the winter break of his second year in high school. At that time, he had only been involved in cycling for a short time and had no experience. He just looked up some precautions and set out on the road alone, relying entirely on his passion.
I met Teacher Yang and his two companions on the road. We rode together for a while and then exchanged contact information with each other.
Later, after learning that Jiro tried to cook in a frying pan at an altitude of 3,000 meters, he reluctantly became Jiro's cycling instructor.
He didn't bring much luggage. It was hot in the summer, so it wouldn't be cold even if he set up a tent in the wild at night. He only needed to bring necessary daily necessities and emergency tools, and he didn't need to bring warm equipment for now.
When the time comes, you can buy some supplies and replenish some warm and cold-proof equipment before going to Tibet.
After saying goodbye to his family, Ji Lang set off.
When he first started riding, my grandmother was always worried and would give him many instructions before each trip. My grandfather even closed his clinic and followed him every way, fearing that something might happen to him.
Over the past few years, my family has gradually gotten used to it.
He rode his bike and enjoyed the scenery along the way. The journey was a little slower than previously planned. Occasionally, when he couldn't find an abandoned house and had to pitch a tent in the wild, he would take his engineering shovel to the woods to look for mushrooms and wild vegetables that he knew.
He also shoots some videos, edits them himself and posts them online. They get quite a lot of clicks and he can also earn some income this way.
After many stops and starts, it was already the end of August when Ji Lang arrived in Linzhi.
The weather this year is a bit abnormal. Just a few days after the beginning of autumn, the temperature has dropped sharply. According to the weather forecast, it will snow soon.
As expected, the weather forecast was not very accurate, and heavy snow fell on the day we arrived in Linzhi three days later.
Fortunately, Jilang entered the city before the snow fell and stayed in a hotel for a rare night.
Teacher Yang and his companion Lao Zhang did not have complete warm gear and had originally planned to replenish it after arriving in Lhasa, but they were trapped on the road by the sudden heavy snow.
Due to the sudden drop in temperature and the altitude of more than 3000 meters, the two were worried that they would suffer from hypothermia if they advanced too fast, so they found an abandoned house on the side of the road to set up camp and asked Jilang to bring them some warm clothes.
Early in the morning, the snow had stopped, and the morning sun, with a hint of orange, shone on the vast expanses of snow.
It is clearly a warm color, but there is an inexplicable sense of coldness.
Jilang went to buy a fleece jacket, a down coat and cotton shoes, and just to be on the safe side he also bought a down quilt and a blanket.
These weights would make his riding more difficult, but when he heard Teacher Yang speaking on the phone in the morning, his voice sounded a bit nasal, and he guessed that he was very cold last night.
It may take two days to recuperate, and then if these things are divided up, it won't be too heavy.
He also went to buy some rice, noodles and vegetables, and replenished some salt and seasonings. Although the medicine in his bag had not been used up yet, he still went to buy some cold medicine and fever-reducing medicine.
These are all necessary things, and Jilang will replenish them every time he arrives at a new place.
He fixed the engineer shovel to the back of the car like a shoulder pole. On one side were his original packages, and on the other side were the cold-proof equipment he had just bought today. Finally, he fixed the food on the front of the car.
I clicked on the location sent by Teacher Yang and looked at the distance.
It's a little after nine in the morning now. I calculated the time in my mind and estimated that at my usual speed I could probably reach them around 12:30.
There is snow on the road now. Although the car is non-slip, you still have to be careful. It is estimated that we may not be able to get anywhere.
Fortunately, the ground was not frozen, so we were able to walk.
Ji Lang sent a message to Teacher Yang, saying that he had set off and would contact him later. When he saw the other party replied with "OK", he picked up his backpack which contained medicines, tire repair tools, ropes, tool box and other miscellaneous items, got on his bike and set off.
The temperature was not high, but the sun was shining brightly. Jilang's neck and arms were warmed by the sun, which drove away most of the coldness. The wind blowing in his face was also gentle, which was a rare pleasure.
Then, he suddenly appeared in this deep forest.
If he really can't go back, I wonder if his parents will be sad. I don't think so, after all, they have only seen each other a few times since they were young.
But grandparents and grandparents-in-law will be very sad.
After sitting on the hillside and enjoying the breeze for a while, Ji Lang calmed himself down and decided to make the best of whatever happened. If he lived well, he might still have a chance to go back. If he kept being sad and angry, he would only become more and more desperate, and it would be hard to say whether he could survive at that time.
After cheering himself up, Ji Lang hurried down the mountain.
After running back and forth four times, he finally carried his luggage and car to the mountainside before the sun set.
