The full moon in the sky illuminated the earth, and the thick snow piled up into mountains. The biting cold wind was like a sharp razor, almost cutting the skin exposed to the air.

There is a short section of highway between Aito City and the neighboring city of Ze in the north, which is clogged with vehicles that have crashed into each other, making it impossible to pass through.

Surrounded by high mountains, a few lonely country houses stood by the road, isolated from the outside world. Deep in the mountains, there was a faint roar whose source could not be identified.

Suddenly, several dark shadows rushed across the field covered with thick snow and rushed straight towards one of the buildings!

……

After a moment, a dim light appeared in the hall of the villa.

Several uninvited guests who broke into the villa locked the unlocked door again and looked around the living room cautiously with flashlights.

Then, everyone started to move, and they quickly and frantically turned over every place that could be turned over.

One of them saw that there were only rotten fruits, eggs and vegetables in the refrigerator, and angrily smashed the refrigerator door, threw it to the ground, and cursed.

"There's no water or electricity here either." Another man looked weak and exhausted. He wiped his face hard and said helplessly.

"There's wine here." The third man threw a few exquisite wine bottles over. The others hurriedly caught them, glared at him, opened them quickly, and started pouring the wine into their mouths.

The spicy taste can make their brains clearer, especially after an exciting escape.

They now have no food reserves and must run to the city to find food and shelter. Further south is the once prosperous city of Aito.

“There’s food!”

The other two people ran down happily from upstairs and rolled several boxes of milk, biscuits and instant noodles downstairs. This instantly inspired everyone's fighting spirit. They rushed over and scrambled to tear open the boxes, piled all the food and drinks on the table, and swallowed them in big gulps.

If there is no hot water for instant noodles, just sprinkle the seasoning powder into it and eat it as instant noodles.

After eating and drinking, several escaped psychics finally began to think positively about the future.

"How come there are so many of those damn things gathered in the mountains?" A man grabbed a bottle of wine and stomped his shoes on the sofa. "Damn it, there are mountains everywhere. We shouldn't have run in there in the first place."

"Zecheng has become a dead city now," said another person. "Zombies are overwhelming the city. Even the highway over there is full of the living dead. If we hadn't been too few in number to fight our way in, we wouldn't have fled to the mountains in such a panic."

Someone sneered: "To put it bluntly, if we want to get in, we have to join them and turn into zombies and eat living people together."

Then there was a brief silence.

Some people continued to drink, while others were thinking hard about how to escape.

"There are more zombies in Aito City. We can either turn off the highway to another city, or go south and take a gamble."

"The population of Aito City is there. There are many dead people, but there must be many alive people as well. After all, we are definitely not the most powerful ones. Those who can survive in Aito City are definitely big shots."

"But even Zecheng has completely become a dead city. How many people can survive in Aito City?"

"Anyway, the facilities there are good and there's plenty of food. Let's take a gamble. The suburbs are large and there are relatively few people. Let's find a supermarket or a shopping mall to hide in for a while."

"It's getting colder in the north, and the zombies are reacting faster than before. There are more high-level zombies. This apocalypse is really too damn hard for people to survive."

Someone grumbled quietly, but no one else said anything.

After escaping from the mountains, they just wanted to spend the night in a safe place. Someone turned off the flashlight and the living room fell into darkness.

They began to sleep, curled up on the sofa, lying on the carpet, or squatting behind the sofa. The feeling of having survived a disaster made them sleep very restlessly.

The temperature in the villa was very low, so low that the psychics' hearts radiated light and their mental power was released, providing the owner with enough ability to keep out the cold.

The roars and screams that occasionally sounded in the mountains often woke them up, making them sleep in fear, but they had to sleep.

During sleep, not only do psychics recover from their wounds faster, but their mental strength also recovers quickly. If they don't get enough rest, their brains will become groggy and it will be difficult for them to even control their psychics.

They didn't sleep well. One of them turned over on the sofa with his ear to the ground.

He suddenly opened his eyes, stood up quickly, leaned over to the hall window, and squinted at the road!

All the vehicles on the road that were crushed by thick snow suddenly rose high into the air, and then rolled down from the highway with a dull crash.

Everyone was awakened and reacted quickly. They held their breath and jogged over, hiding under the hall window.

As they wiped the frost off the windows, they saw three mid-sized cars slowly driving forward. Their outlines were vague in the darkness, but the roar was enough to attract the attention of the living dead.

——A team of survivors appears!

The hearts of several psychics were beating wildly. Three vehicles could carry quite a lot of people, which meant they could stay in one place and build a safe shelter.

But no one dared to be sure whether the people in the car were friendly or cold-blooded. Reason made them wait and see, waiting for the three cars to drive into the tunnel to the south.

The woods blocked the edge of the road. They didn't relax until the vehicle disappeared from their sight, leaning against the wall and breathing quietly.

"Knock knock knock--" a series of violent knocks on the door suddenly exploded in everyone's ears!

They were so frightened that they retreated directly to the center of the hall, looking at the door cautiously, ready to fight.

But the knocking stopped, and a gentle but timid voice sounded outside the door: "Excuse me, is anyone there?"

...Woman? The men were shocked and suspicious in the dark. Before they could react, the door lock suddenly caught fire and a big hole appeared, as if it was corroded by some substance.

The door slowly opened, and just as the superpowers were about to fight to the death, they saw a slender girl with long flowing hair standing there. The moonlight shone on her body, covering her with a layer of gentle silver gauze.

The girl was not afraid when she saw their fighting posture. Her smile was like a jasmine flower soaked in dew, charming and gentle inadvertently revealing her tenderness.

Several psychics did not lower their guard. They glanced around the girl and heard her whisper, "Do you have anything to eat?"

"..."

No one answered her question. One of the men took two steps forward, holding a sharp sword in his hand: "No, we are starving to death. Go look somewhere else."

The girl lowered her eyes in disappointment and touched her white down jacket. The superpowers stared at her hands: "I don't need a lot, just a few pieces will be enough——"

The shadows cast behind the crowd actually moved on their own, leaving the ground and transforming into a black human figure with a knife in its hand.

"How many pieces?" asked a psychic.

The girl suddenly raised her head and smiled softly at them.

That smile was captivating, and those curved eyes had a unique magic that attracted their attention. Suddenly, only one thought popped into their mind -

How can there be such a beautiful smile in this world?

If I can protect this smile, it would be worth dying for.

Several psychics were intoxicated and smiled dreamily, unaware that a dark shadow was stabbing into their backs!

Thump, thump.

There were several figures standing on the side of the road, looking towards the villa.

The girl standing outside the door was still smiling softly. She looked at the fallen psychics having their hearts cut open by their companions and the glowing crystals dug out. She sighed helplessly.

"I thought there were a lot of people..."
