No matter how depressed he was, it couldn't stop Yu from going to the art studio every day. He could only keep an eye on the time and remind her to take a break every hour or two.

Lin Qingchuan now runs into Yu Jingmo every night after returning from evening self-study, and sometimes they grab a late-night snack together.

More than half a month passed, and Yu Jingmo finished drawing the character portraits for both characters.

Originally, the idea for "Seeking Plants" was to portray the rainbow eucalyptus as an adult, while the mimosa would be designed as a child.

She started with this idea, first drawing the eucalyptus tree, then scrapping the mimosa halfway through, having found a better inspiration.

She approached the person in charge who had been working with her and explained her thoughts.

As the second party, she was bound to be subject to some constraints, but when signing the contract, she added a clause that she should have sufficient say in the character design.

Surprisingly, they agreed quite readily.

After some discussion, her new idea was adopted.

Now that both drawings are finished, Yu Jingmo sent the drafts over and received a reply two days later.

This time, no changes were needed, and the other side was very satisfied, so Yu Jingmo sent over all the necessary documents.

She had reserved a few days to revise the manuscript, and after a few more days of rest, she could start drawing the cover of "Micro Affairs". Now that she didn't need to revise it, she simply rested early and started drawing ahead of time.

With some free time, Yu Jingmo didn't feel uncomfortable at all. He stayed at home, eating simple meals prepared by the kitchen staff, watching TV series and nature documentaries, enjoying a very leisurely time.

She didn't want to go out anymore. The weather had already started to get hot after the Dragon Boat Festival, and the sun was quite strong outside. She would sweat if she went out for a walk.

I thought I would just drift through these next few days in this "depressed" state, but then I heard from Lin Qingchuan that there was going to be a parent-teacher conference.

Looking at the calendar, I realized that summer vacation is almost here, but there are still final exams waiting for the students before that.

"Are you talking about finals and holidays?"

Lin Qingchuan nodded.

Tomorrow is Friday, and the parent-teacher meeting is at 4 PM. If Lin Hui leaves a little early, he can still get there.

However, this parent-teacher meeting was organized by the class itself, and there was nothing important to discuss. The homeroom teacher suggested that only one parent should attend.

Generally, whoever has time goes, but if Lin Hui wants to go, she won't compete.

Just as they were about to discuss it, they heard a voice in their ear. After going through it a second time in their minds, they suddenly realized what it was and turned their head in shock: "What did you just say?"

Lin Qingchuan seemed to have been prepared, and repeated, "I want to skip a grade and go to the senior year of high school."

Yu Jingmo glanced at Lin Hui, then turned back and asked, "Why?"

"I've already finished the high school curriculum, so continuing to study step by step would be a waste of time."

He paused, then added, "Also, Gu Xiujing and his gang always have to cause trouble, it's really annoying."

It's quieter because we're not in the same grade and live far apart.

Yu Jingmo had nothing to say about the latter point; it was simply the truth.

However, "it's not a waste of time, because each stage can only be experienced once in a lifetime..."

She had originally wanted to say that high school was a unique journey in life, but when she thought of Lin Qingchuan's aloof personality and overly intelligent mind, she suddenly couldn't bring herself to say it.

These three years are unforgettable because they will mark a significant turning point in one's life, and also serve as a culmination of over a decade of academic pursuits.

However, if someone doesn't like talking to classmates, is smart enough that they don't need to study hard from dawn till dusk, and doesn't even need to rely on the college entrance examination to change their life, these three years may not necessarily be that unforgettable.

"Have you thought this through? If you skip a grade, you won't be an adult by the time you get to university."
