Hogwarts and the Atypical Wizard
Chapter 7: Shopping in Diagon Alley
A magic wand is a key item that affects life safety. What kind of person would allow himself to have only one?
In fact, most wizards only have one. They can't understand it, and Saiens absolutely can't understand it.
I have never heard of a soldier who only carries one weapon when going out. The primary weapon can be the most convenient one, but other secondary weapons are absolutely indispensable!
You can do without it, but you absolutely cannot do without it! Absolutely not!
How ridiculous it is that a dignified wizard would immediately become a helpless and furious man once his stick was knocked away!
Sainz always reminds himself, "This is the wizarding world, we can't care too much about the rationality of Muggles."
But not having an extra wand isn't a matter of rationality, it's a matter of brains!
Coming out of Ollivander's Wand Shop, Sainz walked into Wezeacre's Magical Supply Store.
I bought a complete wand maintenance kit, five wand covers, and a briefcase with a traceless extension spell cast on it. The overall shape and size is similar to a two-centimeter-thick 32-page hardcover book.
The internal volume is eight cubic meters and is worth four hundred Galleons. You no longer have to drag a large, obstructive suitcase.
Compared to other items that cost more than a dozen Sickles, this handbag is indeed extremely expensive, but for the technology contained in it, this little money is simply worth it.
If Muggle scientists had the opportunity to obtain such a high-tech item, Science believed that they would be willing to exchange anything they had for it.
The Traceless Extension Charm is a spell that the Ministry of Magic has expressly prohibited from private use. The fact that this item can be officially put on the shelves in stores naturally has to have been approved by the Ministry of Magic.
Private individuals are not allowed to build it, but the Ministry of Magic can. The information contained in it is up to everyone to decide.
Flourish and Blotts Bookstore is located on the north side of Diagon Alley and is a place that young wizards need to deal with frequently.
When he entered the bookstore, a young clerk greeted Sainz, "Hello, sir, how can I help you?"
"Oh, thank you. I need a complete set of books for all grades of Hogwarts. Oh, but I want to exclude those for first-year students. I bought them yesterday."
"Wow, you must be a Ravenclaw. Hello, my name is Pajasen Vala, and I just graduated from Ravenclaw this year." The young male clerk showed a friendly smile and extended his right hand to Sainz.
Sainz extended his hand and shook his hand. "Hello, I'm Sainz Autumn, a freshman this year. I'm sorry to bother you with the books I need."
"Okay, wait a moment, I'll prepare it for you."
While the other party was preparing the stock, Sainz walked around the store casually and saw the "Mermaids: A Comprehensive Guide to Language and Habits" mentioned by Ollivander earlier. He looked at the author and found that his name was Dylan Marwood.
After a careful search, he did not find any books that truly explained advanced spells. The spells he was most concerned about, such as the Infinite Reaching Charm and Apparition, were not mentioned at all. It seemed that he had to go to the restricted area of Hogwarts to think of a solution.
After strolling around a bit more, he took out a few more books.
After a while, Pajsen Vala came back with a pile of books.
"Look, except for the ones that have been bought in the first grade, most of the required textbooks for Hogwarts are here.
"Standard Spells" from Level 2 to Level 6, "Seeing the Future through the Mist", "Intermediate Transfiguration Guide", "Advanced Transfiguration Guide", "Advanced Potion Making", and "Complete Guide to Carnivorous Trees".
Do you want me to take the elective courses as well?"
"Thank you, Parkinson. That's all for now, plus these few books."
"Okay, let me take a look. Mermen: A Comprehensive Guide to Their Language and Habits, Basic Spells for Dealing with Hyperactive and Irritable Animals, Simple Spells to Fooling Muggles, Hogwarts: A History, The Handbook of Healing, Practical Defensive Magic and the Counteraction of the Dark Arts.
What a discerning reader! These are all fantastic books, some of which I hadn't read in school, and I've said it before, but I'll say it again, you'll make a great Ravenclaw."
Sainz responded with a smile, without commenting. Pointlessly refuting others will not elevate yourself, but will only make you look narrow-minded.
In fact, Sainz actually prefers to be Hufflepuff, mainly because he had enough of it in his previous life and wants to live an easier life in this one.
It is particularly important to point out that there is absolutely no Hufflepuff common room next to the kitchens.
It didn't matter whether they ate or not, the main interest was in the house-elves working in the kitchen.
House-elves are simply the best butlers in the wizarding world. They can arrange every aspect of your life perfectly.
The curse in their blood almost guarantees their absolute loyalty. Sainz is so envious of such a perfect assistant that he almost cries.
House-elves are so important that it is almost impossible to release or sell them because they know so many secrets about their masters.
The only large colony of house-elves that Sainz knew of was in the kitchens of Hogwarts.
Not to mention Sainz, even the Weasley family, who were pure-blood wizard traitors, didn't have house-elfs. Ron once said that his mother, Mrs. Weasley, had always wanted a house-elf to help her with housework.
"There are sixteen books in total, and the total is forty-five Galleons. You can give them directly to the store manager, or of course, you can give them to me and I will pass them on."
Looking at his excited smile, it is obvious that he will get a commission for making this deal. Sainz is not against this model. No one goes to work just for the sake of dedication.
Make money, don’t be shabby!
Seeing Sainz easily put a pile of books of various sizes, one and a half feet high, into a hard-cover bag the size of a small book, Parkinson Vala's eyes widened. His vague expression probably showed that he was guessing which big family Sainz was the heir to.
But Sainz is an Oriental, obviously not from a native British wizarding family, which touches on a bit of a blind spot in knowledge.
An average wizard family might pay for books for their little wizard, but they are unlikely to pay for a hardcover briefcase cast with an infinite extension spell.
After buying a wand and shopping for books, completing the two most important tasks of today's trip to Diagon Alley, Sainz felt much better and was even in the mood to go to Florin Fosco's Ice Cream Shop to eat an ice cream of unknown flavor.
When I came here yesterday, I came and left in a hurry so as not to waste Professor Sinistra's time, and I didn't have time to take a good look around. Now that the main task is completed, Sainz finally has the mood to stroll slowly in Diagon Alley for a while.
When I watched the movie in my previous life, my perspective followed Harry Potter as he entered the Leaky Cauldron. As the brick on top of the trash can turned and opened the door, I suddenly entered the fantasy and magical world from the ordinary Muggle world. That kind of attraction was irresistible to most children.
Now he was immersed in the magical world of magic. For a moment, Sainz's heart was beating wildly, just like when he first discovered that he had super powers. He was so excited that he couldn't calm down.
Sainz stood on the narrow and busy wizard street, looking at the little wizards running around in the street and the owls flying up and down, he couldn't help but ask himself.
"What attracts me most about the magical world?"
