Hogwarts and the Atypical Wizard

Chapter 48 Christmas Chapter School Leaving Schedule

"Sainz, why aren't you cold?" Ben expressed his incomprehension.

"Yeah, we're both almost frozen." Adam showed him his frozen fingers.

Sainz had previously considered whether to cast a "freezing spell" on his roommate, but after repeated consideration he gave up. This spell was not yet mature enough to be used as a heat preservation spell and was somewhat dangerous.

It's fine to experiment on yourself, but it's somewhat irresponsible to use it on others rashly.

"Maybe it's because I'm more resistant to cold."

The two roommates looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders in acceptance of the explanation.

………………

December 10th, Sunday, heavy snow.

"Is Sainz here?" Before going to bed at night, Kenneth specifically went to find Sainz's dormitory.

"Hello, Kenneth, what's up?"

"It's like this. Today we have to sign the Christmas departure form. You were not in the auditorium during dinner, so the dean asked me to find you in the dormitory in the evening."

"Is that so? I'm sorry to have caused you trouble."

As a result, all the other freshmen had signed the scroll in Kenneth's hand, leaving only his row empty.

The other fifteen students all went home.

There are only two options at the end, yes or no.

Sainz hesitated for a moment and decided to ask directly, "Sorry, there is no option for me here."

"What, you're not here?" Kenneth was a little surprised. "No, you're right here, behind Cedric."

"Yes, the name is indeed there. You heard it wrong. I didn't mean that my name is not on it. I meant that the option I want is not on it."

"What do you mean? What do you mean there's no option you want?"

"I mean, I do want to go back over Christmas break, but I'm going to be back pretty quickly, not until school starts, maybe just for a few days.

Is this situation allowed?"

"I'm sorry, you stumped me. Normally we wouldn't want to do this. Yes, I've been at Hogwarts for five years and I haven't heard of such a situation."

"How about this? Leave this parchment with me. Our first class tomorrow is Herbology. I will ask Professor Sprague directly then."

"Well... that's all I can do. But you must keep it safe. This is my responsibility as the class leader. It will be very troublesome if you lose it."

"I'm sorry to bother you. I have some salt-baked pork liver here. You must try it..."

"Haha...you always have a way..."

After class the next day, Sainz asked his dean, Professor Sprague, the same question.

"Well...your question is not particularly new. People have asked it before. Normally, we don't allow it." Professor Sputlow did not refuse outright.

It is not allowed under normal circumstances, which means it is allowed under normal circumstances!

Sainz quickly struck while the iron was hot, "Professor, you know my situation. The place I stayed outside of Hogwarts was a Muggle orphanage.

The temporary guardian is the old dean, Mr. Bruley, but you know, he is almost seventy years old, which is not young for a Muggle, and he will probably retire soon.

I'm not sure what I should do after he retires. Will the other Muggle who comes up at that time accept my identity? Even if he can accept a wizard, I think the more people who know, the more likely I am to be exposed.

This certainly did not escape your notice. I mean, this is indeed a hidden danger, isn't it?

I made this request because I'm preparing to go back and deal with matters concerning the orphanage. I won't do it again in the future. I promise, it's only this time.

Don’t look at me as if I’m only 12 years old, I’m good at this, you can trust me.”

Professor Spoutlaw smiled and patted his shoulder. "Son, I didn't say I disagree. The school has taken all of what you said into consideration. Of course, the prerequisite is that you apply for it yourself."

Sainz smiled apologetically, "I knew the dean was a good man."

“Well, even if you compliment me again, the Herbology homework will not be reduced.

It's just right, you can help me send this departure form to Professor McGonagall." Professor Sprague wrote a note behind his name, "Return to school during the holidays."

"Guaranteed to complete the mission!"

Duo-duo-duo

"Who's outside?" Professor McGonagall's serious voice came from inside the office door.

"Professor McGonagall, this is Sainz, Professor Sprout has a document for me to pass on to you."

"Come in!"

Sainz pushed the door open and saw Professor McGonagall wearing her usual emerald green robes and her hair tied in a high bun.

This was not the first time he had come to this office. He had been here several times before to ask questions after class. It was a distinctly Gryffindor style office, with a spotless red carpet and a roaring fire in the fireplace.

He walked to Professor McGonagall's desk with ease and handed her the parchment in his hand.

Professor McGonagall took it and glanced at it, then looked up at him from behind her round glasses. "Mr. Autumn, you have to know that this kind of situation is rare. Apparently you have convinced your dean."

"Yes Professor, I know this caused her a lot of trouble, and I appreciate it."

"Just so you understand, take this badge. When you come back, you have to go through the main gate. Also, it's a one-time use, so you can keep it and don't have to return it."

Sainz quickly took the shield-shaped Hogwarts emblem with both hands.

"Then I won't bother you."

"Well, please close the door when you go out. Little wizards always fail to understand an older person's sensitivity to temperature." After saying that, he lowered his head and busy himself with the things in his hands.

Sainz didn't mean to peek, but he caught a glimpse of her as he reached across the desk to hand over a form. She was reviewing manuscripts for Transfiguration Today.

When I said I was causing trouble for my dean, it was not just a polite remark; I really was causing trouble.

It seems to be just a simple issue of leaving school, but it actually involves many aspects of safety.

This is true for both young wizards and Hogwarts.

Of course, Hogwarts is responsible for the safety of young wizards while they are at school, but the responsibility for their safety after they leave school falls on their parents or guardians.

At the same time, the safety of Hogwarts School must also be considered.

With each additional uncontrolled link, the risk of exposure increases.

This is also the reason why all students have to take the train back together.

Hogwarts cannot be mapped. Its location is not known to just anyone, and not just any wizard can enter it.

Even if you have studied there before, you will not be allowed to just go back and hang out on campus after graduation.

The school badge that Professor McGonagall gave him was like a token that allowed him to pass through the gate of Hogwarts instead of being stopped outside by the magic on the door.

Sainz suddenly thought, "What would happen if this school badge was obtained by someone else?"

Then he sneered at himself, "If I can think of this, then Professor McGonagall, as the Vice-Principal, can certainly think of this too. Even if someone else gets it, it's probably useless..."

If it is for the sake of Hogwarts' safety, the school should not allow his special request, or give him a pager or something, and send a professor to pick him up when he wants to come back.

Giving him a one-time door key directly can be said to be a great expression of trust.

Or, is it just plain trouble?
