Hogwarts and the Atypical Wizard

Chapter 4 Trip to Diagon Alley

Professor Sinistra led Sainz towards the kitchen, obviously intending to use the Floo Network to get to Diagon Alley from the fireplace.

Sainz pretended not to know, "Sorry, Professor, I think the door should be in the opposite direction."

"Mr. Autumn, Diagon Alley is in London, more than four hundred miles away from you. We have to choose a faster way to travel. You will use it often in the future, which is the Floo Network."

"You're heading toward the kitchen. Could it be the fireplace, like in the story?"

"You're right, Mr. Autumn. I said you are a keen little wizard."

She drew out her wand and pointed it, sparks flew from the tip of the wand and ignited the fireplace.

"Here, this is Floo powder, grab a handful and throw it into the fire like this, then shout out where you want to go."

Professor Sinistra grabbed a handful of green Floo powder and sprinkled it into the fireplace. The flames in the stove immediately changed from yellow-red to emerald green, and the temperature seemed to have dropped significantly.

"do you understand?"

"Understood!"

"Okay, once you walk into the fire, you need to clearly state where you are. Let me tell you again, Diagon Alley."

"Diagon Alley!" Sainz repeated cooperatively.

"Very good! Let's go. You go first and I will follow."

Although Sainz knew that the Floo Network was very safe, he was still a little hesitant when using it for the first time, but he did not show it.

After saying goodbye to Professor Sinistra, he grabbed a handful of Floo powder and sprinkled it into the fireplace. When the green flames rose, he walked into the slightly hot and cool fire and accurately read out the destination.

"Diagon Alley!"

………………

Anyone who has been to Diagon Alley knows that the so-called most prosperous wizarding commercial street in the UK is just that.

Sainz had a question in his previous life: there are so many shops in Diagon Alley, where would he get out if he traveled through the Floo Network?

This time there was actual evidence, coming from an unowned public fireplace in the middle of the alley.

As for the physical feeling of traveling on the Floo Network, those who understand will understand. Anyway, it is not as comfortable as taking a bullet train. Just like Harry said, it is like being rubbed in a washing machine. Fortunately, he is in good health and the adverse reactions are very minor.

Coming out of the fire, Sainz quickly moved away, and then Professor Sinistra followed closely.

"Very good, Mr. Autumn. Many Muggle-born wizards easily get confused about place names when they use the Floo Network for the first time and come out of the wrong place. By the way, Muggle is our name for ordinary people without magic.

Well, come on, you have a lot to buy, let’s get started.”

Professor Sinistra saw that Sainz was not feeling unwell, and led the way in a hurry. "Take a look at the list and see what you need to buy first. Oh, by the way, the first thing you need to do is go to Gringotts. Well, it's at the very back, a little far away."

As Sainz followed Professor Sinistra, he behaved like all newcomers who were exposed to the magical world for the first time, and seemed curious about everything.

A magic teacup, a broom, a chirping owl or a rabbit that can transform itself.

He followed Sinistra through the crowded crowd, mostly young wizards and their families who came to shop. It was obvious that he was a head taller than most of the freshmen, almost a foot taller.

"Professor, do wizards travel by fireplace? I mean, is there any other way?"

"Of course it's not just the Floo Network, Mr. Autumn. In fact, most adult wizards who have reached a certain level prefer Apparition. That is a more advanced spell that you will learn in your senior years."

"You mentioned wizards of a certain level, but what about ordinary wizards?"

"Ordinary wizards or underage wizards can choose a flying broom or a Knight Bus."

"Professor, how do you take the Knight Bus? Are there specific stops, like...like a Muggle bus station?"

"Of course it's not as troublesome as in the Muggle world. You just need to hold the wand in the air and it will appear. Sometimes it is very convenient. The wand is a must-have item for every wizard, and you will have one of your own soon."

Of course, Science knew all that Professor Sinistra had said. The reason he took the trouble to ask again was, firstly, to verify the correctness of the information, and secondly, to make his source of information seem more reasonable.

"Professor, is the only way to get to Diagon Alley through the fireplace? I mean, to enter Diagon Alley from the Muggle world."

"Of course not. The entrance to Diagon Alley from the Muggle world is at the Leaky Cauldron, which is right next to "One Diagon Alley, next to 48 Charing Cross Road, London in the Muggle world. Don't worry, I'll take you there in a minute."

Well, we are at Gringotts. You can exchange Muggle paper money for gold Galleons here. It is incredible that Muggles actually treat colorful pieces of paper as money. It is really pitiful. "

Sainz smiled secretly in his heart. He would not boring the other party by explaining that in fact the application of credit currency was a manifestation of economic development. He believed that the professor would not want to listen to such twisted ideas.

Gringotts is a snow-white building that stands out among the small shops.

The goblin, dressed in a gold and red uniform, stood beside the bronze door, like a doorman in the Muggle world.

The goblin was less than one meter tall, with a pointed beard, and very long fingers and feet.

Professor Sinistra led Sainz inside and entered the second door.

The second door to Gringotts is perhaps better known than its bronze counterpart because of the goblin warning written on it.

…………Stranger, please beware of the consequences of greed…

Those who only know how to ask for things... and don't know how to give, will definitely receive the most severe retribution.

...If you are here to find the wealth that does not belong to you...

thief!

...you have to be careful to find more than treasure.

Everyone looks like a thief to him. He is indeed a greedy demon.

The two came to a marble hall.

More than a hundred goblins sat high up behind the counter, some were registering accounts, some were weighing gold coins on a scale, and some were studying gems one by one with a magnifying glass.

There are countless doors in the hall, and the fairies and people coming and going are more numerous than the doors.

Professor Sinistra led Sainz straight to the counter.

"This is the freshman this year, he needs to change some Galleons."

A goblin looked up indifferently, "Put the Muggle's little piece of paper on the scale, little wizard."

Sainz put all the one thousand pounds on it. The goblin looked obviously unhappy and muttered, "So much."

Although he seemed reluctant, after carefully checking the authenticity of the currency, he still exchanged two hundred Galleons for Sainz.

The subsequent shopping process was divided into two parts. In order to save time, he and Professor Sinistra acted separately. Although it was a bit unnecessary, Sainz didn't want people to know about his purchase of the wand.

Books, clothes, crucibles, scales, telescopes, and magic wands were all bought.

Professor Sinistra took Saienz around the Leaky Cauldron, told him the password to open Diagon Alley, and then took Saienz back the same way.

"Are you sure you can make it to Platform 9 3/4 on your own? That's at King's Cross Station in London."

"Yes, professor, it's not a difficult thing, especially for someone who has become independent so early."

"Very well, I'll see you at Hogwarts then."

"Thank you very much for your help today, Professor. I have learned a lot. See you at Hogwarts."
