Hogwarts and the Atypical Wizard

Chapter 21 Herbal Medicine

At dinner on Sunday, everyone received their class schedules.

There are very few classes in the first grade and the class time is also short. The first class in the morning starts at 9:00 and ends at 9:30, only half an hour instead of forty-five minutes.

Sainz took a look and found that the course was very flexible. There were classes five days a week and two days off on weekends. There were two to three classes per day, and each class lasted thirty minutes.

There is only one exception. The longest class is the astronomy class on Friday night, which starts at 11pm and ends at 11:45pm. If you don’t return to the dormitory before midnight, you will be treated as a night out.

In a week, there are three classes of Herbology, two classes of Transfiguration, two classes of Charms, and two classes of Potions, but they are held consecutively for one hour. There is also one class on History of Magic, one class on Defense Against the Dark Arts, and one class on Astronomy.

The first class on Monday morning was the herbology class taught by the dean of the academy. The class was held in Greenhouse No. 1, which was outside the castle and some distance away. For the little wizards who were not familiar with the environment, it was better to go out early.

I remember that the first class for Harry Potter after school was Transfiguration. They were late because they were not familiar with the route and were severely criticized by the strict Professor McGonagall.

Ask if turning them into a map will help them avoid getting lost.

There was no chance of getting lost for Sainz. He spent the whole day wandering around the castle, not just to waste his time.

After eating, Sainz brought breakfast to his two roommates.

"Thank you so much, Sainz. This jam pie is delicious, and the pumpkin juice is good too." Ben thanked him while wolfing down his food.

Adam was still lazy and unwilling to get up. "I'm so sleepy. Who invented the timetable to schedule classes in the morning? They should be in the afternoon."

Sainz rolled his eyes inwardly. “The senior students have classes starting at 8:30 or even 8:00. Who should they talk to?”

"Really?" Adam and Ben were shocked.

"So, when we get to senior year, we'll need to get up even earlier?

No, it's not true, how did you know that, are you kidding me?" They said they couldn't accept it.

"It's easy to tell whether it's a joke or not, just ask Kenneth, the male class leader who brought us to the dormitory.

In fact, I saw him in the auditorium yesterday and happened to see his class schedule."

Seeing that their class time was different from ours, I asked specifically.

That's what he said, that in the third grade, the first class in the morning will start at 8:30, and in the fifth grade it will start at 8:00.

"No!!" x2.

"Also, by then, all classes will be 45 minutes long."

"Oh! God! It's horrible!"

Adam seemed to have become a salted fish and struggled weakly on his bed.

Unlike Muggle-born wizards, the two of them had attended school before coming to Hogwarts.

They completed their preschool education at home. They had no concept of getting up early and had never had the experience of staying still in a classroom for more than half an hour.

This kind of class activity, which requires not only getting up early but also keeping quiet, is simply a disaster for them.

"I have to remind you, it's almost half past eight, if you're not ready before forty past eight, I won't wait for you.

I said yesterday that I don’t want to be late.”

Although Adam was very reluctant, he had to get up. He didn't have enough time, so he had to hurriedly follow his two roommates out and make his breakfast while walking.

When Sainz and the other two arrived at the greenhouse, many classmates were already waiting in the cubicle outside the greenhouse.

He guessed that some of the plants in the greenhouse must be dangerous, so he did not open the door in advance to prevent restless students from getting hurt.

"Hello Sainz, I haven't seen you since the Sorting. How are you? It's a pleasure to have classes with you."

Roger Davis saw Sainz and greeted him from a distance. Then he said to Ben, "Hi, Ben."

"Hello Roger, even though we haven't met, it doesn't prevent us from being friends, right?" Sainz smiled. "The reason why we didn't meet is because the common rooms of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw are too far away from each other.

"Of course, of course, you know, we all thought you would be sorted into Ravenclaw. I think Ben thought so at first, too, right?"

"Uh...it is." Ben Stebbins hesitated and nodded.

"This is my roommate, Adam, Adam Summers. He was the second one to wear the Sorting Hat. You should have noticed, right behind Angelina."

"Ah, yes, I remember now."

"Adam, this is a friend I met on the train, Roger, Roger Davis, as you can see, a Ravenclaw."

"Hello, Adam."

"Hello, Roger."

"This is my roommate, Drizzt Benton." Roger introduced the boy next to him. He was of the same height as Roger, with a slightly yellowish complexion and medium-length brown hair that just covered his eyes a little bit and needed to be pushed aside from time to time.

The boy said lightly, "Hello." and turned around without saying anything else. It seemed that he didn't want to spend too much time on everyone.

Just then, four people from Cedric's room also arrived, so Roger and the other student retreated back between the Ravenclaw students to avoid embarrassment.

After a while, Professor Sprout came.

"First of all, welcome everyone to Hogwarts. I hope you will have a pleasant learning experience and I hope everyone can gain the knowledge they want.

Let me introduce myself. I am the Head of Hufflepuff House, Pomona Sprout. You can call me Professor Sprout.

I'm in charge of teaching Herbology at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Okay, now let's start calling the roll.

Let me take a look. Um, let's start with Ravenclaw. There are nine of them. That's good.

Four girls, um,

Florence Sabifia,

Miss Tran,

Frieda Wells,

Carolina Heine

OK, five boys.

Roger Davis,

Drizzt Benton,

Wolaway Raymond,

Leighton Stanley.

Armand Dodge

Good, everyone is here, no one is late, that’s good.”

She pulled out another piece of parchment. "So, next up is Hufflepuff..."

After calling the roll, Professor Sprout smiled warmly and said, "Welcome everyone to Hogwarts again, and now the class will begin.

Um, before we go into the greenhouse, can someone tell me what a daisy is, anyone? . . .

Many hands went up, including Sainz.

She named a Ravenclaw girl, "Miss Welsh."

The girl's voice was very pleasant, like the breeze blowing through wind chimes. "Daisies are a kind of wild flower, professor. They have yellow or white flowers and are very common in Europe, right now in this season."

"Very good, can anyone tell me what it can do? Of course I mean in terms of magical applications."

Now only Sainz raised his hand.

"You answer, Mr. Autumn."

"Daisies can be used to make shrinking potions, professor. Especially the roots of perennial daisies, which are more effective and more expensive."

"Very good, there couldn't be a more accurate answer than this." Professor Sprout seemed very happy. "Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff each add ten points."

She pointed her wand and opened the greenhouse door.

"Today's learning task is to loosen the soil for the daisies and learn to observe and identify which ones are mature."
