Me and my fantasy world
Chapter 27: Statues in the Temple
The dark temple looked different from the outside. There was no light inside and the surroundings could not be seen clearly. But the strange thing was that the air here was exceptionally fresh, without the unique smell of mud like in ancient buildings like ruins.
Lingyi was holding a torch and walking in the empty temple. Behind him, there was a silver-white dragon. But the silver dragon ignored Lingyi at first. After following Lingyi slowly into the temple, the dragon fearfully hid behind Lingyi.
"Are you scared?" Lingyi was surprised by the Silver Dragon's strange movements. Is there anything in this world that a dragon is afraid of?
"Roar... Roar..." Although the Silver Dragon followed behind Zero One and looked at Zero One, he looked at the open space in front of Zero One, with a trace of sadness in his eyes.
But Lingyi didn't notice it. He just felt that Silver Dragon was afraid of something, so he walked in front with his head held high: "Don't be afraid, if anything happens, I will protect you, it's okay." Lingyi promised solemnly and strode forward.
But after taking two steps, the ground under his right foot suddenly sank half an inch. Lingyi was stunned for a moment, not daring to move his right leg, and looked around vigilantly.
"Did I... step on some trap? No way, am I so unlucky?" Lingyi said helplessly, raising the torch to look at his right foot.
With the dim light of the torch, I finally saw what was under my feet.
It was a square floor tile, yellow in color overall, with densely packed ephemeral green threads inside, but there seemed to be balls of light bouncing back and forth on the threads.
Lingyi didn't dare to act rashly for fear of what might happen, but Yinlong tilted his head and looked at the mechanism that Lingyi stepped on.
"Hey, don't move. Nothing seems to happen now, but you still have to be careful," Lingyi warned the silver dragon, but the silver dragon didn't care. He tilted his head, then straightened it back and opened his mouth slightly. A ball of snow-white light slowly condensed in the white dragon's mouth.
When Lingyi saw this, he immediately panicked, because the place where the Silver Dragon was aiming was his right foot: "Hey! Are you crazy? Stop it! What if it's a trap? Then..." Before Lingyi could finish his words, the ball of light in the Silver Dragon's mouth was immediately spit out.
In desperation, Lingyi had to roll sideways to avoid it, and his right foot released the floor tile, but nothing happened.
However, when the ball of light hit the floor tiles, there was no explosion. Instead, the light on the floor tiles slowly condensed and swallowed the silver dragon's ball of light.
Lingyi was still covering his head, afraid that something might happen, but after a while, there was no sound around except his own rapid breathing and the silver dragon's roar.
Lingyi then got up and discovered that the floor tile was actually absorbing the silver dragon's light ball and merging into it.
And when the light ball was completely integrated, the golden part on the floor tiles instantly dissipated, as if some kind of seal was broken, and the emerald green light inside gradually became stronger.
With the floor tile beside Zero One as the center, the bright green light invaded in four directions, covering the entire temple, converging at the top of the temple and disappearing right above Zero One's head.
"This...did you discover this?" Lingyi looked at Yinlong in confusion.
The silver dragon raised its head proudly, perhaps it could understand the compliments on itself.
In front of Lingyi, there was a rumbling sound. Looking up, he saw a golden light not far away. With the help of that light, he could vaguely distinguish that what was opened should be a stone door.
Behind the stone gate, there was a statue that was glowing with golden light, as if flames were burning, surrounding the statue.
"What is that?" Lingyi wanted to take a closer look at the statue, but he suddenly felt a pain in his forehead. Lingyi's forehead flashed with golden light again, and he knelt on the ground in pain, covering his forehead.
"Roar!" The silver dragon seemed to have noticed that something was wrong with Lingyi, and hurriedly floated to Lingyi's side to check.
Lingyi seemed to have noticed Yinlong's worry. He stretched out his right hand and placed it on Yinlong's back. He wanted to persuade Yinlong not to worry, but when the words came to his lips, his body could not move: "No...wait, what's going on?"
Lingyi was surprised. His body seemed to be pulled by something. A golden light suddenly emerged from his forehead and shot towards the statue.
Then Lingyi's head slowly rose up uncontrollably, and the golden light on his forehead also swayed with his head and moved to the roof of the temple.
The roof of the temple was pitch black, empty and dim, a place where even light could not reach. The same was true for the light from Zero One's head. It did not penetrate the darkness and was still swallowed up by the boundless darkness.
And at the moment when Lingyi raised his forehead, a straight light rushed from Lingyi's forehead to the roof. Just a few seconds later, circles of golden light began to cover the wall from the roof and slowly moved downwards.
As if a dark protective film had been torn off, the dusty golden light once again illuminated the entire temple.
At the moment when the entire temple was illuminated, Lingyi finally no longer felt the resistance, but fell backwards tiredly and fell to the floor of the temple.
"Ha... ha... what's going on..." Lingyi was breathing heavily, while the silver dragon beside him seemed to see everything around him become transparent and bright, and seemed extremely excited. It flew to the ceiling of the temple and circled in circles.
Standing up, Lingyi looked up and down at the temple again. The interior of the temple was about forty or fifty meters high. The stone walls were all golden, like gold. The surroundings were very empty. As far as the eye could see, there were only stone statues, and no material at all.
There are two giant dragon statues on both sides of the stone gate directly in front. One has thick limbs and huge wings, horns like an argali and a bloody mouth. Its image is a bit like the evil dragon that represents destruction in the West.
The other one is like the silver dragon, with a slender body, curled up like a long snake, and bright eyes. Even though it is a stone statue, one can feel the majesty hidden deep in its soul. Its image is a bit like the dragon that represents gods in the East.
The heights of the two statues are about thirty to forty meters, with the Eastern Dragon being slightly taller.
Following the two statues, the other stone statues on both sides also present different postures.
On the left are stone statues of Western magic dragons. Three of them are roaring, sharpening their claws, and accumulating strength, as if there is a great battle ahead.
There are also three stone statues of the Eastern Dragon on the right, one of which is staring, the other is listening, and the other is talking, just like humans discussing issues.
Although the dragons on both sides are different, what remains unchanged is the color of their eyes. On the left western dragon side, the eyes of all the dragons are blood red, and their horns and the gems on their bodies are all violent blood red.
On the contrary, the eyes, horns and gems on the bodies of all the dragons on the Eastern Dragon side are deep dark blue.
Just as Zero One was astonished by the exquisite craftsmanship and lifelikeness of these statues, a mark suddenly appeared on the ceiling of the temple. It was a pattern of a young girl. Then a beam of light slowly descended from the pattern, enveloping Zero One, and echoing the stone bricks at Zero One's feet.
Bathed in this beam of light, Lingyi felt as if both his body and mind were healed. He felt so comfortable that he wanted to just lie down and fall into a sound sleep.
"Come here..."
A voice suddenly came from inside the stone gate, which made Lingyi perk up again.
"No, no, is this heaven? How can it be so comfortable?" Lingyi hurriedly rubbed his eyes and shook his head, trying to get rid of the illusion of comfort.
The silver dragon in the sky seemed to have heard the voice as well. It descended and came to Lingyi's side.
"come here……"
The voice from inside the stone gate urged again.
"Hmm?" The other one seemed to be aware of the existence of the voice and turned around to look for it.
“Roar!” said the Silver Dragon, raising his head and shaking it towards the main entrance.
Lingyi followed the direction of the silver dragon and looked towards the main entrance: "Where is it?"
"Come here, child..."
"What's that sound?" Lingyi wondered, staring at the main gate and turned back to look at Silver Dragon.
But the silver dragon also turned his head to look at him. Lingyi stretched out his hand and slowly approached the silver dragon.
Just now, Zero One put his hand on Silver Dragon's back to comfort it, which made Silver Dragon seem to understand that Zero One had no hostility.
So when Zero One stretched out his hand again and reached towards his upper jaw, the Silver Dragon lowered his head and used his forehead to meet Zero One's outstretched right hand.
Lingyi rubbed the soft hair, and the feeling of comfort and ease just now disappeared in an instant. If the illusion just now was a kind of enjoyment, then now Lingyi seemed to have found the paradise that belonged to him.
The silver dragon seemed to be enjoying it as well. He closed his eyes, then shook his body and dived into Lingyi's arms, knocking Lingyi to the ground.
"Hey, hey! Hahaha, is it so comfortable?" Lingyi said with a smile. He felt a little uncomfortable being pressed by the silver dragon, but what did this discomfort matter when he could touch a real dragon?
"Roar, roar!" The silver dragon also roared with extreme excitement.
Although Zero One wanted to enjoy it very much, he still cared about that voice. Or perhaps it was not Zero One who cared, but Zero One's forehead.
Ever since that voice appeared, the mark on his forehead seemed to jump out and rush towards the stone gate in the direction of the voice, like a lost girl finally finding her mother.
"Okay, okay, get up, let's go take a look in there." Lingyi hurriedly dissuaded Yinlong.
"Roar." The Silver Dragon didn't seem to understand what Lingyi said. He still curled up in Lingyi's arms and acted coquettishly, asking Lingyi to touch his head more often.
"Okay, okay, hahaha, stop it." Lingyi said with a helpless look, and finally stopped rubbing the silver dragon's hair with his hands.
Silver Dragon also opened his eyes with some confusion, and there seemed to be some resentment in his eyes, as if he was enjoying it but it suddenly stopped.
Lingyi smiled, then stretched out his finger and pointed in the direction of the stone gate. The silver dragon followed Lingyi's direction and looked towards the stone gate. Only then did he understand Lingyi's intention, and hurriedly jumped off Lingyi and floated in the air.
"Finally I got up, hahaha." Lingyi said contentedly, without brushing off the dust on his body, for fear of tainting his hands that had touched a real dragon.
Lingyi looked towards the main gate, and that strange attraction once again lingered in Lingyi's mind. He stared at the stone door and the sacred yet somewhat strange golden light.
Lingyi took a deep breath and exhaled slowly...
"Let's go..." Lingyi's steps were a little heavy. He stared at the stone door and looked around vigilantly, fearing that a monster would jump out at some point and devour him.
The silver dragon had been following behind Lingyi. It naturally felt Lingyi's nervous thoughts, so it quietly came to Lingyi's lower back and slowly moved forward.
"Eh? What is that..." Lingyi suddenly felt something crawling up his lower back. When he looked down, he could only see his face reflected in pure white scales.
The silver dragon sprang out from Zero One's left lower back, wrapped around Zero One's waist, and went up into Zero One's right armpit, then went all the way to Zero One's left shoulder, its two front paws grabbing Zero One's shoulders, and its two hind paws grabbing Zero One's left lower back.
Zero One went from being surprised to being delighted, and then to being in tears and laughter. He was indeed frightened the moment the silver dragon came out from behind Zero One's waist, but when he saw the pure white scales, he knew that it was the silver dragon entangled with him, and then he was surprised again. Finally, the silver dragon's two hind claws grabbed the muscles of his left lower back, making Zero One feel both pain and itch, but he was reluctant to resist the silver dragon.
