Chapter 324: The Battle of Minjian, You Do the First 1, I Do the Fifth

Xu Le did not care about the affairs in North China. He knew that the Japanese did not have the ability to cross Niangzi Pass and Xinkou.

As for southeastern Shanxi, that was Commander Yan's hometown. It had been lost once and was finally taken back. He believed that Commander Yan would not let his territory be lost again even if he risked his life.

He is now worried about the large number of mines laid by the Japanese in the Irrawaddy River!

Although the fighter squadron of the 1st Aviation Brigade had not yet completed the training of the J-7 and was unable to go out, it was unable to gain air superiority outside its jurisdiction.

But the attack aircraft brigade can be dispatched, so it temporarily serves as a reconnaissance aircraft.

When several Japanese destroyers laid mines from top to bottom of the Inowaddy River, the attack aircraft brigade saw it all.

There are two main ways of deploying mines at present.

One is a floating mine, which floats directly on the water surface and triggers the fuse.

The other type is the anchor mine, which is fixed by an anchor. The anchor sinks to the bottom of the water, controlling the mine at a certain distance from the water surface, and also triggering the fuse.

Anchor mines are most suitable for deployment in shallow water areas such as river basins. They are hidden in the water and are not easily seen by the naked eye.

Xu Le is not worried about this problem, because the system has 10K minesweepers priced at 053 yuan each and 15 minesweepers priced at 058 yuan each, so minesweeping should not be too easy.

He is worried about the sailors!

Just like the Air Force, there are only two brigades, a total of 6 fighter squadrons, and less than 100 J-7s. If they are put together, they are not enough for Shanxi Province, let alone if they are separated!

Is it that he doesn't want to form more brigades?

No!

It's because the pilots can't keep up. There are about 1500 pilots in the current Air Force, but only 7 are suitable for the J-200. Most of them are second-level pilots, and there are very few first-level pilots!

An aviation brigade has 36 regular J-7s, so it is impossible that there are only 36 pilots. More reserves are needed.

In addition, we are still in the training period, so it’s not that we don’t want to form a new Aviation Brigade 3, but we don’t have pilots!

The navy faces similar problems. The warships are advanced, but the matching sailors must naturally keep up with the pace, otherwise many functions cannot be used.

For example, the fire control system, scanning radar, warning radar, etc., these are not something that just anyone can do. At least the person must be literate!

What Xu Le needed was that the Central Fleet could detect enemy ships in advance and organize an effective attack when they were 100 kilometers away.

The number of active destroyers and frigates of the Navy has reached 16, the number of Type 072 landing ships has reached 15, plus two elite submarines.

This has almost exhausted the 10,000 well-established sailors brought by Bai Shiyi.

Although there are 3 naval recruits in Fenglingdu, the minimum training period is 2 months, and it will take another months before they can go to the front line.

So the current Central Fleet is running out of manpower!

Finally, after seeking Bai Shiyi's opinion, Xu Le only purchased 5 053K minesweepers which were easier to operate. Any sailor who had completed basic ship operation training could board the ship!

At the same time, in order to better allocate sailors, conduct professional training, make the best use of resources and not waste training time and resources, Xu Le decided to classify the ships.

Aircraft carriers are at level one;

Destroyers, frigates, submarines and other ships with missile systems are divided into two levels;

Landing ships, minesweepers, submarine hunters, etc. that do not carry missiles are divided into three levels;

Landing craft are divided into four classes.

Therefore, sailors are divided into four levels according to their abilities, so that they can receive targeted training to avoid wasting unnecessary time and speed up the formation of various types of sailors.

It can be said that they learned from the methods of Air Force pilots, otherwise the Air Force would not have 1500 people so quickly.

After the sailors were divided, Xu Le also took the opportunity to name several improved ships that would be put into service later, and at the same time organized the brigades below the detachment.

The first 051D-class destroyer was named Chongqing; the first 051G1-class destroyer was named Guiyang, both of which belong to the First Destroyer Squadron.

Chongqing, Guiyang, and Kunming make up the 1st Destroyer Squadron;

The Taiyuan, Chengdu and Kangding form the 2nd Destroyer Squadron.

The first 053K-class frigate was named Zhaotong; the first 053H1-class frigate was named Qujing, both of which belong to the First Frigate Squadron.

The Zhaotong, Qujing and Yibin formed the 1st Frigate Squadron;

Zigong, Neijiang, and Luzhou formed the 2nd Frigate Squadron;

Guangyuan, Xichang, Dazhou and Ya'an form the 3rd Frigate Squadron;

The original five Type 5 medium landing ships formed the 073st Landing Ship Squadron;

The 15 newly commissioned Type 072 large tank landing ships form the 2nd Landing Ship Brigade.

The 067 small landing craft does not form a separate formation and is affiliated to the 2nd Landing Ship Brigade.

Minesweepers are not organized into separate formations but are directly under the command of the Central Fleet!

The submarine has not yet formed combat effectiveness and will not be assigned a number for the time being!

.....

Time passed quickly. When the Japanese had arranged everything in Burma and northeastern India, Fang Yue's 1st Army was also ready.

In order to meet combat needs, Wang Yuqi temporarily organized the best pilots of the brigade into the 1st Fighter Squadron, equipped with two sets of 57mm air-to-air rockets and two PL-2 air-to-air missiles, and a 1-kilogram aerial bomb on the belly of the aircraft.

The two attack aircraft squadrons' bomb bays were equipped with two 500-kg aerial bombs, and two wing pylons were equipped with 90-mm air-to-ground rockets!

On December 12, the two sides unexpectedly launched a battle in the "Myingyan" area between Mandalay and Meiktila. The area within a radius of hundreds of miles is all plains, which is most suitable for mechanized warfare.

It was also the first major tank battle between the two armies!

In the air, the 12th Flying Division assisted in coordinated operations involving air, infantry, artillery and tanks!

徐家军这边则是装甲176师全体出动,200辆69式坦克和100辆86式步兵战车为主。

自行炮1团和炮兵旅的120余门152毫米加榴炮,以及36门130毫米自行火箭炮提供火力压制!

The 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division advanced along the Irrawaddy River in sync with the minesweepers of the Central Fleet!

In northeastern Myanmar heading towards Lashio, the Japanese 101st Division divided its troops into two routes and advanced northward under the leadership of hundreds of fighters and bombers!

The 101st Motorized Infantry Division responded to this, but instead of defending, it advanced southward.

The 4th Mechanized Infantry Division, as a reserve force, was ready to go around Mandalay. Even the 1st Machine Gun Regiment of the Machine Gun Division in Myitkyina launched the first wave of clearance operations against the Japanese invaders in northern Burma a few days ago.

Only the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division continued its training as usual and did not take any military action.

At the same time, the Japanese Indian Army in the Imphal direction seemed to have the same idea and did not attack towards western Myanmar.

Instead, at the same time as the battle of Myingyan began, they attacked India's Dhaka.

"Marshal, are we really going to ignore India? They are our allies after all!"

Fang Yue's original battle plan was to expand from the center, with Mandalay as the center point, and extend to the south and west of Myanmar respectively, so as to wipe out the Japanese invaders in the entire South Asia.

However, Xu Le rejected the plan to attack westward and advocated gathering troops to march southward.
