After my mother read my mind, my whole family rebelled
Chapter 114: 88
In late autumn, the whole city of Xijing is golden.
The air is filled with the fragrance of chrysanthemums.
Shen Yuyao took Xia Xiaoxian and Ma Sanbao to a place that was not the busiest market in Xijing.
Instead, he went to the Dabei Temple, the most popular temple in Xijing.
Along the way, Ma Sanbao had already learned how to drive a carriage, and his gestures and movements had become much more mature.
Shen Yuyao carried Xia Xiaoxian into the carriage. As soon as they sat down, Xia Xiaoxian couldn't wait to lift the curtain and looked outside the carriage curiously.
Outside the carriage, there were bustling crowds of people, traders coming and going, and hawkers hawking their wares along the street...
Every person and every object made Xia Xiaoxian feel fresh and curious.
Shen Yuyao also watched with her.
As the carriage traveled for a while, Shen Yuyao gradually noticed something was wrong.
All the women walking on the street had their faces covered with veils, so that their faces could not be seen.
And along the way, I didn't see any children.
So prosperous.
Shen Yuyao couldn't understand why the prosperity of Xijing City could be so weird?
The carriage stopped at the foot of the mountain of Dabei Temple. It was the same here. Even the women who were burning incense had their faces covered with veils.
Shen Yuyao had read many travelogues, but she could not remember finding such a description of the customs and people of Xijing.
Before Shen Yuyao had time to think, Xia Xiaoxian had already taken her hand and was anxious to go up the mountain.
The Dabei Temple is very popular and attracts many pilgrims. The recent epidemic has attracted more believers to come to the temple to pray for peace and health.
A young monk came to greet Shen Yuyao in front of the temple gate and said, "My lady, please follow me. The abbot has been waiting in the meditation room for a long time."
Shen Yuyao looked surprised.
She went to Dabei Temple on a whim.
Why would the host wait for her for so long?
The young monk immediately revealed Shen Yuyao's true identity, forcing her to follow him into the temple.
Xia Xiaoxian held Shen Yuyao's hand, but looked back frequently.
Zi Su and Ma Sanbao did not follow.
The two stayed at the temple gate and waited.
Shen Yuyao followed the little monk through the corridor and went straight to the meditation room.
Shen Yuyao stepped into the meditation room and saw an old monk with a kind face looking at her with a smile.
"My lady, my Buddhist name is Huineng. I met you when I was practicing in Huang'en Temple at the beginning of this year."
The old monk put his hands together and smiled, "Abbot Huijue, I am your junior fellow apprentice."
It turned out to be the case.
Although Shen Yuyao still had doubts, she smiled slightly and returned the greeting: "Master."
"Your Highness, you must be wondering why I knew that you were here today?" Seeing Shen Yuyao nod, Abbot Huineng continued, "A few days ago, a sorcerer came to Dabei Temple. He called himself Yuan Gong and was a good friend of Daoyan."
"This person said that today a young master will come to the Great Compassion Temple with a young master."
"That is the current Ning Wangfei and Xiaoxian Princess." Huineng took out another scroll, "He also painted a portrait of the queen and the little princess."
"So early in the morning, I asked the young monk to wait at the temple gate."
"Until the queen and the little princess showed up."
Shen Yuyao took the portrait, opened it and saw that it was exactly the same as what she was wearing today.
Even the somewhat puzzled expressions are vividly portrayed.
The man turned out to be a good friend of Monk Daoyan. Shen Yuyao then suddenly realized.
【Yuan Gong, the best fortune teller in the Great Xia Dynasty.】
【Looking at people and telling fortunes are all accurate. 】
【It started with Yao, was decided by Yuan, and was completed by Zhang. 】
[However, without Yao, there would be no beginning; without Yuan, there would be no decision; without Zhang, there would be no gathering. Isn't it God's will that led to the words of these three people? ]
[I don’t know which fellow Taoist from the upper realm he is. I am also curious.]
When Shen Yuyao heard this, she knew that Xia Xiaoxian was looking through the "Three Lives Book" again, and she felt amused.
Even a little fairy like him couldn't finish reciting the text and always had to cram at the last minute.
If there is a chance, Shen Yuyao would like to take a look and see what the future holds.
"Dabei Temple is the most effective. Your Majesty, you might as well go and ask for a fortune." Abbot Huineng asked.
When Shen Yuyao entered the temple, she also saw that there were many pilgrims in the Great Compassion Temple, so she nodded and said, "Xiaoxian, go and ask for a fortune for the prince."
Seeing that Xia Xiaoxian was not very interested in drawing lots, Abbot Huineng said, "The vegetarian meals at Dabei Temple are very famous."
Xia Xiaoxian was instantly tempted: "Let's eat vegetarian food!"
The little monk led the way for Shen Yuyao, and she took Xia Xiaoxian by the hand and followed them to the Great Compassion Hall.
"Master, we have two companions at the temple gate. Please bring them along as well."
Dabei Temple is the most famous temple in Xijing. It was built deep in the jungle to the north of Xijing City.
The layers of palaces rise along the mountainside, and the mountain gate faces south.
The first-floor building of Dabei Temple is the Mountain Gate Hall. Under the main eaves is a white marble temple plaque with five large characters "嘉建大悲寺" engraved on it.
In the center of the Shanmen Hall is a seated statue of the Big-Belly Maitreya Buddha, whose eyes are like the moon and whose face is always smiling, exuding a sense of joy.
The Four Heavenly Kings stand on the left and right, each wearing armor, holding a magical weapon, with eyes wide open and looking majestic.
The second hall is the Main Hall, where the Eighteen Arhats sit upright on marble, listening attentively to Sakyamuni's lectures, some seem to be lost in thought, some are dancing with instruments and performing rituals. All of them are vivid and lifelike, a masterpiece that can be said to be unparalleled.
Behind the Main Hall is the Great Compassion Hall.
There is a colorful carved seated statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva enshrined in the hall.
The expression of Bodhisattva Guanyin is full of compassion, like a loving mother.
The last floor of the temple is the Medicine Buddha Hall, where Medicine Buddha, Sunlight Panchen Lama and Moonlight Panchen Lama are enshrined.
The twelve Yaksha gods are on both sides.
The inner shells of these fifteen statues are all made of camphor wood, and the outer shells are decorated with pure gold.
Shen Yuyao knelt devoutly before the Bodhisattva Guanyin in the Great Compassion Hall.
Xia Xiaoxian held the fortune stick box and shook it gently like those devout believers.
Snapped!
A red-headed signature slip fell out.
Shen Yuyao smiled slightly, picked up the fortune stick, and took Xia Xiaoxian to interpret it.
The person who interpreted the divination was also a kind-looking old monk. He took the divination and his expression changed: "Sir, you..."
"Master, please feel free to speak."
[The old monk can't even speak clearly, I'm afraid it's a bad omen.]
[Wow, my luck has always been bad. 】
[When I was in heaven, I always lost to that little Sima Ming. Now that I am in the mortal world, it is still the same! ]
Shen Yuyao pursed her lips and smiled, saying: "Master, there is no need to ask for smooth sailing and good fortune."
"If the sign is bad, it can really wake people up from their dreams."
"Blessings and curses..."
[Mother is very wise. Hearing this, Xiaoxian is very happy. ]
[It really is the same signature but different fates. 】
The old monk's expression eased after hearing this, "Young Master is truly an expert. This is the 88th lot!"
"The fortune says: A wooden tiger is in front of the door. It must be powerful but will not harm anyone. It is clearly said that it will be fine, but you are worried, hesitant and fearful."
"Interpretation: The stove head is swept, like the wind passing by the ears, it is advisable to do good deeds, bad luck at first but good luck later. For this sign, everything should be done in the old way, then it will be fine."
Seeing Shen Yuyao nodding frequently and seeming to understand something, the old monk then gave a warning: "Young Master, stay alert at all times and act more cautiously to avoid risks."
