Among the numerous symbol diagrams, there are some special ones used to express the changes in the movement of celestial bodies and the laws of the rise and fall of yin and yang.

These symbols are closely related to fields such as astronomy, astrology, meteorology and ecology. For example, symbols related to various celestial phenomena, stars, clouds, thunder, lightning, wind and rain can be collectively referred to as celestial symbols.

Taoist literature has long explained this point.

First, Taoism claims that these symbols are formed by the condensation of the pure energy between heaven and earth, and they are actually a true depiction of the entire universe.

As recorded in Volume 16 of Lingbao Yujian: When chaos first began and yin and yang had just separated, "the magical wind merged and stirred, the three kinds of qi (qi) opened up light, the qi gathered to form characters, the clouds condensed to draw seal characters, the five textures expanded and extended, and the eight corners radiated light, thus establishing the three talents of heaven, earth, and man to govern human society.

Some people believe that they are the River Map and Luoshu, or the constellations in the vast Milky Way, which are what people call the true spiritual books.

However, the more important meaning is that they can distinguish heaven and earth and promote the operation of yin and yang. Whether it is the flow and rise of mountains and rivers or the birth of people, they all reflect the wonderfulness of the true jade characters that conform to the times and shine with brilliance. "

These mysterious symbols that can judge the heaven and earth and control the yin and yang are actually graphic patterns used to describe the existence and change laws of all things in the universe.

Secondly, judging from the various names of the talismans, many of them are closely related to celestial phenomena, such as heavenly book, astronomy, cloud seal, thunder text, seven-star hidden text... and so on.

Volume 273 of the Lingbao Lingjiao Jidu Jinshu states: "The Seven Star Hidden Text has the effect of curing diseases, subduing evil spirits, killing evil spirits, and exorcising monsters."

It also points out that "the generals of heaven, the five great demons, and countless ancient characters all originated from the Beidou Yuque and the Santai Xuanmen. These characters follow regular laws, command and control gods and ghosts, and have the power to kill evil spirits and remove evil spirits. They are the mysterious documents controlled by the Northern Emperor."

This shows that the Seven Star Hidden Text originated from the inspiration brought by the Big Dipper. It is not just a simple symbol or mark, but more like a mysterious bridge connecting the Big Dipper and the human world, carrying endless mysteries and profound meanings.

Further research on the structure of the runes reveals that many runes are closely connected to the scenes in the sky. Some runes meticulously depict constellations such as the Three Terraces, the Big Dipper, the Southern Dipper, and the Twenty-Eight Constellations, as if the vast starry sky is condensed into a small space.

Others vividly depict natural wonders such as thunder and lightning, violent storms and heavy rain, which are truly amazing.

From the perspective of the practical application value of talismans, we will be surprised to find that those talismans that are widely used to control weather changes, such as summoning wind and clouds, driving thunder and lightning, for example the cloud-raising talisman, the rain-making talisman, the thunder talisman, the lightning talisman, the clear-sky talisman, the snow-praying talisman, the wind-calling talisman, etc., all belong to the category of this kind of celestial talisman.

If we look at it from a broader perspective, whether it is the Tai Chi diagram, Nine Palaces diagram, River diagram, Luoshu diagram in Taoism, or the Mandala in Tantric Buddhism, they can actually be classified as celestial symbols.
