Chapter 717: Understanding the Law of Cause and Effect

Although Su Xiaoya successfully passed the first level in a confused manner, she did not take it lightly.

The word "caution" has been engraved into her bones since the moment she set foot on the path of cultivating immortals.

Just as Su Xiaoya was carefully reading the introductions to the second and third levels, the scene around her changed again.

The boundless sea of blood seemed to be wiped out in an instant by an invisible hand, disappearing without a trace.

Su Xiaoya found herself in a vast sword tomb.

Looking around, there were all kinds of broken swords piled up everywhere. Some were tilted and deeply inserted into the hard ground, with only half of the sword body exposed; others were scattered in every corner in a disorderly manner.

The same thing is that each of them is a broken sword! The surface of each broken sword is covered with rust, and it looks no different from a pile of scrap copper and iron.

The difference is that every broken sword is lingering with a vague resentment and unwillingness!

resentment?

And, unwilling?

Su Xiaoya narrowed her eyes, hiding the thoughtful look in them.

According to the introduction she had seen before, Su Xiaoya knew that she had to accurately find the two mysterious "phantom swords" transformed from the "Realm of Cause and Effect" and the "Rage of the Sea of Blood" from the mountain of thousands of swords.

However, the so-called "phantom swords", as the name suggests, are by no means real physical swords, but rather a high-level phantom array that hides endless mysteries and has its own internal structure.

In fact, among this seemingly dazzling sword tomb, there is not a single genuine sword!

Although each broken sword looks different, they each contain unique "content". If you are not careful, once you touch one of the special broken swords, it may trigger an unexpected "surprise".

As for whether one can safely pass these strange and unexpected "surprise" tests, one can only leave it to fate!

At this moment, the most urgent task facing Su Xiaoya is to quickly and accurately find the two crucial "phantom swords", then successfully activate them, and smoothly step into the illusion array constructed by the "phantom swords".

Not only that, she also has to crack the mysterious illusion array within the specified limited time, otherwise the consequences will be disastrous.

Su Xiaoya thought silently: "The realm of cause and effect" and "the wrath of the sea of blood"?

As the name suggests, the "Realm of Cause and Effect" should be related to the power of cause and effect; while the "Rage of the Sea of Blood" is related to the power of the sea of blood.

Obviously, one tests one's understanding of the power of rules, and the other tests one's control of mana! They are two levels that complement each other.

In fact, this is not difficult to understand. After all, it is said that the Blood River originally gathered all the causal forces in the world. Therefore, these two levels are actually the root of this Blood River.

Looking at the densely packed broken swords in front of him, it was obviously unrealistic to check them one by one.

In this case, the direction to look for...

Su Xiaoya took a deep breath and stared ahead with a determined look. She knew that she had to go all out to break through the barrier set by the Blood River.

Yes, Su Xiaoya never doubted that she could successfully find the two illusion arrays in the "Illusion Sword".

Who made the Karma Ancestor, one of the Three Thousand Chaos Demons, still fusing the Source Star Core in her sea of consciousness!

As long as she wants, Su Xiaoya can now observe and understand the law of cause and effect almost anytime and anywhere.

Therefore, the "realm of cause and effect" is not really a particularly profound and difficult to understand law for Su Xiaoya.

To be precise, the three thousand laws of chaos include the ten supreme laws of chaos. Now, for Su Xiaoya, she can observe and comprehend them up close anytime and anywhere.

Thinking of this, Su Xiaoya found that her gains from this trip to the Wushen Trial Land were simply too great. Su Xiaoya was even a little scared!

If you want to wear a crown, you must bear its weight.

The more she gets, the more unpredictable the future that awaits her becomes!

Ugh!

Now that she has embarked on this journey, she will definitely try her best to reach the top.

Therefore, even though she guessed that the final situation might be extremely dangerous and she was forced to give up the resources that were currently at her fingertips, she was still unwilling to do so.

After all, every increase in her strength increases her chances of survival.

Compared to the vast starry sky in her sea of consciousness, the source star cores fused with three thousand chaos rules and carried by the remnant soul of the three thousand chaos demons, the Yuantu Sword and the Abi Sword, are really not a big deal.

Now that there is a time limit, she has to race against time and give it her all.

Without much thought, she began to concentrate on understanding the "power of cause and effect".

As long as you understand the "power of cause and effect", it will be much easier to find the realm of cause and effect.

Su Xiaoya simply sat down cross-legged on the spot, closed her eyes, and felt everything around her with her heart, trying to understand the cause and effect relationship lingering on each sword.

Of course, the soul Su Xiaoya also teleported to the vicinity of the Star of Cause and Effect at this moment. Looking at the enlarged Star of Cause and Effect in front of her, she began to concentrate on observing the evolution of the rules of cause and effect.

She thought back to her past experiences, those moments of success and failure, which became the material for her to understand the power of cause and effect.

As the saying goes: Good deeds are rewarded with good, and evil deeds are punished with evil. It's not that there is no retribution, it's just that the time has not come yet!

As we all know, even the most ordinary people understand this truth in their hearts: no matter whether a person has good or evil thoughts and puts them into action, he will eventually reap the corresponding results. It is just a matter of time.

The difference is that some people are in awe, some are disdainful; some people have a long-term vision, some people only care about the present.

Therefore, every move of a person is an external manifestation of "results", while the thoughts and ideas hidden deep in the heart are the root causes of these "results".

Although we can directly observe a person's specific behavior, behind these behaviors there is actually a key factor that plays a decisive role and dominates the cause and effect relationship - that is thought.

It is often those fleeting thoughts and various complex and changeable ideas that influence and dominate people's behavioral choices; and the series of actions people take further determine the consequences and retributions they will need to bear and face in the future.

It is worth noting that the connection between good and evil cause and effect is not limited to humans alone.

Everything is anim!

Everything has cause and effect!

Of course, cause and effect is not limited to the present world, but runs through the past, present and future three lives, and exists in the form of gradual manifestation and sequential retribution.

Causes in previous life, results in this life; causes in this life, results in next life!

The size and severity of the karma created by each person will directly affect the order and level of retribution.

In real life, some people may find that the good or bad deeds they do in this life do not necessarily receive immediate rewards; therefore, they remain skeptical about the theory of cause and effect.

In fact, since the good and bad fortune, pain and joy that we experience in this life may not be entirely caused by our actions in this life, there is a saying that "building bridges and roads leaves no corpses, but killing people and setting fires brings you a golden belt."

What is even more frightening is that because the "golden belt for murder and arson" is almost a visible vested interest, people tend to have a lucky mentality about the possible consequences that may occur in the future.

For example, Blue Star News also reported that there was a case of a man robbing a gold shop and then absconding, eluding for ten years before being caught and executed.

Although everyone knows that the law has long arms and nothing can escape it, ten years of squandering is enough to make some lawless and even desperate people take risks and gamble.

This is because the eighteen levels of hell are the retribution for these people’s death.

The ignorant are fearless!

These people do not know the horror of the Eighteen Levels of Hell and think that it is just a journey after death.

But they don't know that even if they commit verbal sins while alive - sowing discord, slandering, lying, cheating, etc., they will go to the Tongue-Pulling Hell after death. The tongue is not pulled out all at once. Instead, the little ghosts pry open the mouth, clamp the tongue with pliers, stretch it, pull it slowly, and then pull it out again, and then go to the Scissors Hell and the Iron Tree Hell.

Robbery and theft are like going to hell, where you will burn but never die, and endure the burning flames, tormenting yourself all the time...

In fact, the various situations that all things face most of the time in this life are more the fruits of the karma accumulated from previous lives.

But it's not just the human race.

Based on the above reasons, there is a widely circulated saying in the world: "All things are empty, but cause and effect are not empty."

It profoundly reveals the essential attributes of all things in the universe: they are changeable and illusory. However, only the law of cause and effect is like an eternal and unchanging law, which always plays its role unswervingly and controls the direction and trajectory of the development and evolution of all things.

Cause and effect cannot be changed, the truth cannot be told, wisdom cannot be passed on, and those without fate cannot be saved.

Therefore, Buddhism believes that human behavior can be divided into ten evils and ten virtues, and these behaviors have corresponding consequences.

The ten evils include wrong views, stealing, killing, adultery, discord, lying, abusive speech, frivolous talk, greed, hatred, and ignorance;

The Ten Virtues are the accumulation of good deeds in the three aspects of body, speech, and mind.

Therefore, the results of many things are determined at the time of their occurrence. No matter how capable a person is, he or she cannot change the cause and effect that has already been planted. Just as karma is greater than cause and effect, the seeds planted in the past will one day sprout and bear fruit.

In constant thinking and understanding, Su Xiaoya's state of mind became more and more clear, and the whole person seemed to be reborn. This is a kind of indifference that transcends the shackles of the seven emotions and six desires, and it is also a kind of free and easy feeling after seeing through the world!

Perhaps, this is the secret of spiritual practice.

At the moment when Su Xiaoya realized the truth, the law of cause and effect turned into billions of transparent, almost invisible silk threads and merged into the palm of her right hand.

Su Xiaoya stared at the palm of her right hand for a long time but couldn't see a flower. However, Su Xiaoya smiled unconsciously.

She has quietly mastered the law of cause and effect!

How could I not be happy with this gift!

Therefore, transcending the seven emotions and six desires does not mean turning into a cold stone, but rather not being controlled or influenced by the seven emotions and six desires.

Instead, just let nature take its course, laugh when you should laugh, and cry when you should cry.

Su Xiaoya remembered hearing a story that was based on a true story:

He was an old monk who had saved two people during the war.

After peace was made, the two came back from thousands of miles away to express their gratitude.

The human race’s way of expressing gratitude is very simple, which is to give gifts and treat people to a meal.

The two men were exhausted from the journey and had just arrived. Without even taking time to wash up and rest, they immediately hurriedly and sincerely invited the master to dinner.

Maybe I was too excited and wanted to give the best thing. After all, saving a life is more important than anything else.

As a result, when the dishes were served, I saw that they were all the restaurant’s signature dishes, not vegetarian at all.

The master's disciples immediately said that monks should abstain from food and only eat vegetarian food!

Because the two of them did not believe in Buddhism, they had no concept of precepts and caused such a big mistake. They were immediately very upset and their faces turned red with shame, feeling extremely embarrassed.

When the master saw the two people, he immediately smiled and said, "It's okay! If the heart doesn't move, the flag won't move. What we eat is not the food itself, but the purest heart!"

After hearing the master's words, the two were moved to tears. The master accepted their gratitude. Is there anything more precious than this?

In the end, both the host and the guests enjoyed themselves.

Back at the temple, the disciple couldn't help but ask the master: "Master, you have been fasting for decades. How can you break the fast today for two outsiders? Isn't this damaging your practice?"

"You are wrong. We did not break the precepts, we were keeping them." The master's answer left the disciples confused and unable to understand.

The master gradually became enlightened: "They have come from afar with full sincerity. Why should we make them feel regretful, confused and self-blame just because of our personal habits?"

"The Buddha said, if you have a happy heart, you will be free! So, isn't it our job to make them happy?"

Before crossing over, Su Xiaoya heard this story and felt that the master was worthy of being a master. He integrated the salvation of all living beings into his words and deeds, and practiced all the time. Just like the master in "Cutting Meat to Feed the Eagle", he has a compassionate heart!

Therefore, Su Xiaoya also learned to think from other people's perspectives and to empathize.

Now that Su Xiaoya has embarked on the path of cultivation, she has gained more insights.

Joy is the joy that comes naturally from deep within the heart. This joy is a deep love for life, living, and the world.

There is joy in everything.

All spirits have a joyful heart.

If you discover the good side of all living things, all things, and all objects, and enjoy the fun in them, you will feel endless joy.

A happy person will naturally do happy things and bear happy fruits!

From the moment you have a good thought, you will have good causes, and good results will naturally follow.

Of course, these are all the best of wishes.

Why is it the best wish? Because cause and effect are not immutable!

Thoughts and actions are causes.

The cognition in our hearts varies, and everything is never static, so the final result of good or evil is naturally mysterious. The only unchanging result is that good deeds will bring good results, and bad deeds will bring bad results!

From the karmic causes in the past life to the karmic results in the present life, many external factors will be actively and passively added in between before the final karmic results become the facts.

These external factors include worldly efforts and laziness, good deeds and evil deeds.

Therefore, cause and effect cannot be changed, but sins can be atonement, more good causes can be created, and the size of the retribution can be offset!
