Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy
Chapter 30 Severus is definitely not a bad person!
As soon as the two stepped into the next room, they were blinded by the abundant light.
After finally getting used to it, I was frightened by the roof that was so high that I couldn't see the top, and the objects that were flapping their wings and hovering in the air.
After blinking several times, I realized that the reason the room was so bright was because the flying object itself was also flashing.
Harry and Draco looked at each other in surprise.
He also looked at Hermione and Ron who were standing in front of the door leading to the next level.
"It's the key."
Hermione said with some admiration.
“You have to find the right key to open the lock.”
"I've tried the unlocking charm, to no avail."
At the same time, Ron pointed to the broomsticks beside the two men.
"Hermione thinks that you need to catch the correct key on your broom to open the door."
"There are at least several hundred of them here..."
Harry looked up and responded weakly, but Hermione quickly took over the conversation.
"Perhaps we can guess from the style of the keyhole?"
"What we're looking for is probably a large old-fashioned key, perhaps silver, like the doorknob?"
So, just ride on the broom and grab the keys?"
Draco responded to Hermione, feeling much more relaxed.
This level should not be difficult for them at all.
She walked briskly to her broom, speaking to Hermione without even glancing at Ron.
"Leave this to us."
At the same time he turned to look at Harry.
"Let's see who gets it first, the youngest Seeker."
Then he sat sideways on the broom and kicked it lightly.
He circled quickly in the air and just as he adjusted himself back to the straddle position, he found that Harry had quickly jumped up as well.
The keys that were originally circling seemed to sense someone breaking in and quickly scattered.
It changed the formation, causing conflicts between the left and right, and also disrupting the vision.
"It's the big key, see? The one with the sky blue wings."
"Its wings are injured. It might have been damaged by Quirrell."
Draco said calmly, focusing on the erratically flying target.
"Why are you so sure it was Quirrell?"
“He doesn’t feel like a bad person.”
Harry saw it too, but was more concerned about Draco's guess.
It is not something worth worrying about to snatch a key that is several times larger than the Golden Snitch in the chaos.
This gave Harry more time to wonder why Draco was so sure.
Draco almost got angry at Harry's innocent remarks.
("So Severus is a bad guy just because he looks fierce?")
I questioned myself and was about to explode when I turned my head and looked at Harry, only to find that his eyes were sincere.
Obviously, he was genuinely confused about why he trusted Severus.
In an instant, countless words to defend Severus came to mind.
Until I suddenly realized and asked myself, why did I want to explain to Harry Potter in a hurry?
"Severus is definitely not a bad person."
I felt embarrassed that I cared so much about him, and in a fit of anger, I decided to just respond with a serious expression.
At the same time, I felt a little depressed because I couldn't explain it well.
"All right..."
Harry spoke with some confusion and suspicion, and quickly changed the subject.
"Maybe we need to surround it? How about attacking from above and below?"
"Yes. And I can drive it to the wall at the same time."
An unknown tacit understanding came from, allowing the two to decide on a strategy in an instant, and then they circled separately.
But in a flash, Harry and Draco had crossed each other several times in the air, driving the scarred key to the edge of the wall.
In mid-air, their eyes met.
Draco suddenly drew up his broom and leapt upwards.
At the same time, he turned half his body sideways, almost falling sideways on the broom, stretched out his hand and attacked the key.
As Draco soared up at high speed, Harry suddenly sank.
The key flew downwards tentatively to avoid Draco, and when it lost sight of Harry, it quickly fled downwards.
Harry suddenly stopped his fall and yanked up his broom.
The broom body was almost perpendicular to the ground, rushed towards the key, and grabbed the struggling wings.
Hermione and Ron, who were standing by the door, cheered in unison as they watched Harry glide half a circle in the air before jumping down gracefully.
Draco slowly floated along the broom until it was close to the ground, then he gracefully slid sideways off the broom.
"Are you ready?"
As the door lock popped open, Harry looked at the three of them, and after nodding to each other, he turned the doorknob.
Harry and Ron rushed in first. Before they knew the content of the next level, they didn't want Hermione and Draco to take the risk.
Draco and Hermione walked behind, but glanced at each other thoughtfully.
"The key's feathers were badly damaged."
Hermione whispered and Draco gave a small smile in response.
"Did you notice it too?"
Hermione nodded.
“The level will reset.”
"However, the damaged object will not recover."
They smiled at each other and walked into the door together.
-
As soon as they entered the next room, the four were surprised again, but quickly regained their composure.
After going through the tests of several rooms in a row, I have learned to be accustomed to the strange scenes that may appear before my eyes.
In front of him was a huge chessboard and broken stones scattered in the corners of the wall.
Some of them are still vaguely recognizable as having once been wizard chess pieces.
"It's like we have to play chess to get through this room."
To Draco's surprise, this time it was Ron who spoke first, with a rare confidence in his tone.
Everyone followed Ron's gaze and saw the wooden door leading to the next level, just behind the white chess formation.
"How?"
"I think we should be our own flag."
Hermione asked nervously and Ron responded quickly.
Then, he walked towards the chessboard and reached out to touch one of the black knights.
"Do we have to join you to get through?"
The knight quickly came to life and nodded.
Ron turned and looked at the three of them, stroking his chin thoughtfully.
Then, he turned to Harry and Hermione.
"Uh...I hope you don't think I'm too rude."
"But neither of you is very good at chess."
Then, he turned to Draco, his eyes flickering a little, and asked reluctantly.
"I didn't know you—"
This was the first time all evening that Ron initiated a conversation with Draco.
Draco looked at Ron indifferently, then narrowed his eyes and glanced at Harry.
"You can listen to whoever you want, me or Weasley."
"But remember, the consequences are your own choices."
Without waiting for Harry to respond, he walked across the chessboard and named the position of the black queen, standing on the square d8.
"I knew it..."
"Don't worry, Ron. We'll all listen to you, just tell us what to do."
Draco pretended not to hear Ron's helpless complaints, and tried to ignore Harry's reply.
I would choose to step onto the chessboard on my own, except for my pride in being a wizard chess player.
More importantly, he knew deep down that Harry would choose to trust his best friend again.
I endured the unhappiness in my heart and secretly convinced myself that I must concentrate.
Only then can we turn the tide when Weasley messes up the chess game.
"Ok."
With Harry's encouragement, Ron slowly recovered from the displeasure of being ignored by Draco and took command with confidence.
"Hermione, you go take up your position in the rear wing of the castle."
"Harry, could you please be the bishop—"
"Humph."
"Well... okay... Harry, you be king."
"I'll be the knight."
Harry and Hermione listened nervously and helplessly as Draco and Ron reached a consensus in their unique way.
After stepping onto the chessboard, the two wizards, who were not very good at chess, exchanged worried looks.
Naturally, they had great confidence in Ron's chess skills.
But he was also a little afraid that he might become insane because of Draco's interference.
Fortunately, as the game unfolded, the two discovered that although Ron and Draco occasionally disagreed,
But when it comes to the overall development, people often have the same idea.
For example, when the White Knight and Pawn begin to occupy the center of the board,
Draco and Ron almost said "Grunfeld Defence" at the same time.
"what does that mean?"
Harry leaned quietly to the right and asked Draco.
Draco blinked and spoke with interest.
"A defensive strategy. Let White occupy the center of the board in the opening, and we build up defense from the king's side." "Then
, while building a line of defense, slowly let your bishops and knights join the battle. "
Draco paused before explaining slowly.
"No wonder he wanted to be a knight of the king's wing himself. He wanted you to be a bishop at first."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm sorry, I know this sounds stupid..."
I thought Draco would be impatient, but I found that Draco had a smile on his face and was in a very happy mood.
Her face, as delicate as white porcelain, also looks more elegant and refined.
"If you had learned to ask me for advice earlier, you wouldn't have been deducted so many points this semester."
Draco said this, sticking out his tongue and making a slight face, and Harry couldn't help but be stunned.
"The queen and castle are important attacking pieces."
"Weasley's intention is obviously to keep them in the rear and consolidate the defense."
"Then, let the knights and bishops (minor pieces) be the main means of attack."
Seeing that Harry still didn't understand, Draco continued.
"This is also a response to White's massive attack from the beginning."
"He wants to lure White's key pieces to the center of the battlefield, so that they appear to have the upper hand."
"But in reality, our key personnel are all in the rear. They pose no real threat and are instead exposed to danger."
After explaining carefully, he nodded and said.
"Weasley, it looks like you're not as useless as you thought."
For some reason, Harry couldn't help but feel excited when he heard Draco acknowledge Ron's strength.
"Can you stop beating around the bush and just praise him directly?"
He almost asked the question out loud with laughter, but only got a roll of the eyes from Draco.
Harry had to force himself to turn his attention back to the chessboard.
-
When the white pieces began to occupy the center of the board in order, Ron gave Harry his first order.
"Harry, Kingswing enters the castle!"
After the black chess piece entered the castle, the white chess piece's next move made Ron and Draco exclaim at the same time.
It also made Harry and Hermione sweat.
The White bishop on the queenside moved diagonally to the front and joined the battle.
"Interesting, instead of setting up the formation first, you want to rush into the attack?"
"It seems that they want to suppress the defenses around Harry at the same time."
"Want to continue Greenfield?"
"Maybe. There's nothing to lose at this stage anyway."
"That's what I thought. The black pawn on the queenside goes to d5!"
Harry and Hermione listened to Draco and Ron's discussion in confusion.
It can be guessed that in addition to occupying the center, the white chess pieces also want to suppress the black chess pieces' formation on the king's side.
Hermione looked at the board nervously, trying to understand what the two were thinking.
Harry looked more intently at Ron and Draco.
Their eyes never met, but they obviously had the same thoughts.
White's queen moves out, diagonally up to b3, strengthening the firepower of White's front line.
Seeing Ron nodding excitedly, and seeing Draco taking out his folding fan to hide his smile.
It seems that as the two players expected, White began to occupy the middle game and prepare for an offensive.
Immediately afterwards, the first close combat made the four of them look at each other with pale faces.
Ron sacrificed the black pawn that had just stepped forward to stabilize the defensive position, and let it capture a white pawn on the front line.
While eroding the position, it also triggered the formation surrounding the white soldiers.
The black pawn was quickly crushed to the ground by the white queen.
The White Queen turned around, revealing her faceless head, and raised her hands to pierce the black pawn's torso.
With a few loud bangs, the black soldier was reduced to fragments in an instant.
The four of them then remembered how the wizard chess pieces had harmed each other when they were separated.
After the attack, the White Queen had reached the center line, and Ron swallowed hard and let another Black Pawn step onto the next square.
Now even Harry understood that Ron wanted to stop the White pieces from advancing further.
However, although Ron's rear defense was solid, the danger of abandoning the center line was soon exposed.
The white pawns rushed to the front again, consolidating the formation that had just been eroded by the black pawns.
Then Ron took a deep breath.
"What's next? We've completely given up on the center line."
Hermione asked nervously, but Ron gave orders without stopping.
"Knight on the queenside, d7."
Watching Draco nod slowly, it was obvious that this step was just ordinary.
Just as Draco said, Ron tried to introduce leptons into the battle.
But White remained unmoved and moved the castle on the queenside sideways, strengthening the advantage of the center front.
Only then did Harry begin to see the White position clearly.
The queen, two pawns, and the bishop on the queenside form the first line of battle, occupying the center line of the chessboard.
After that, there were two knights, one behind the queen and the other behind the bishop.
Next came the white soldiers who had not moved, and the castle that had been led to the end of the formation, providing shelter for the front line.
The attacking matrix, like a Roman infantry phalanx, firmly and steadily occupied the center of the chessboard.
The white king guarded the rear and never moved.
In contrast, the black chess defense line retreated very deep.
Except for the two black pawns, Ron was alone facing the spears and halberds in the front row of the white chess formation.
Ron's only protection came from the black pawn that never moved and the bishop who allowed Harry to enter the castle smoothly.
"They seem to be in control, right?"
At this point, even Hermione, who had never been familiar with wizard chess, realized that the situation was not good and became frightened.
She looked worriedly at Ron, who was riding on a tall black warhorse in front of her, with cold sweat on her forehead.
"It's okay, trust Ron."
"And Malfoy."
Harry was comforting Hermione in the far corner, but his second words were so soft that only he could hear them.
He couldn't help but stare at Draco. His eyes passed through the black castle that separated him and Draco after entering the castle. He saw Draco was also
Squinting her eyes, her eyebrows slightly wrinkled, and the folding fan closed, close to her lips. (Chat exchange group: 865172978)
