Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 252 Dumbledore: I hope she can keep her family and her love.

"Dumbledore!"

Snape shouted angrily, and finally froze his right hand that was reaching for the wand.

The old man in front of him finally showed a serious look despite his ferocious look.

"You don't want me to guide her at this time."

"It just puts her at greater risk."

As always, after Dumbledore's bland words,

Snape's usually lazy and cold tone became extremely excited.

Even though he knew that Dumbledore always liked to admire him when he lost his cool, he had no time to worry about it.

I have gradually gotten used to the fact that there is someone in my heart who cares about me far more than I do.

"But you said you would keep her safe!"

"She has already stepped in, and may even become the core—"

"Severus."

Dumbledore called out unusually harshly, causing Snape to regain his composure.

"Her safety depends on her ability to love."

The eyes behind the lenses were sharp, revealing the wise man's calculations word by word.

"I agree with you. To really protect her, in addition to Harry, we must also protect her family."

"Your sacrifice, when she is not prepared, will only lead to tragic consequences."

"But you must also understand that this is a very difficult task."

“So far, she’s doing very, very well.”

As Dumbledore calmed people's hearts with his calming words, Snape began to slowly think about the possibilities that might happen next.

A few days after Voldemort's return, Narcissa visited Snape at his residence in Spinning Row.

Then, under Dumbledore's arrangement, the two entered the Hog's Head Inn together.

There, the Malfoy family exchanged their loyalty for the protection of their daughter by the most powerful wizard in the world.

“She didn’t give up on her love for her family.”

"I also went through torture and pain because I chose to protect my family."

"But you didn't stop her from joining..."

"That's her choice, Severus."

"I believe she knows what she is doing."

"What's important now is that someone must be with her so that she doesn't lose love."

Snape was about to speak, but Dumbledore stopped him directly with rare rudeness.

Even with a hint of impatience in his tone.

"No, Severus."

"We all know that love has many facets."

"And Lucius and Narcissa probably can't understand her deeper feelings."

The old principal was silent for a moment, then spoke earnestly.

"Only you can."

"I'm sure you know what I mean."

Snape listened, leaning against the corner of the bookcase somewhat dejectedly.

His thin lips opened and closed, and after a long time he spoke slowly.

"You also wish...? Do you think...we could...?"

Dumbledore stood up from his desk and bent over.

He carefully selected one of the silver bottles on the desk.

"Yes."

"I hope she can protect her family and keep her love."

"And you'll help her."

Then, he pointed the magic wand toward his temple, slowly pulled out a piece of silvery-white substance, and placed it into the bottle.

"It will be a long and painful journey, but you will help her."

Dumbledore reiterated as he lowered his glasses so that his eyes were fixed on Snape.

"I know you're confused, but I won't be here forever."

"When all hope seems lost, take this to Draco."

"If she reads it, it means we still have a chance of winning."

Feeling the solemnity in the gaze and tone, Snape quietly took the silver bottle.

Watching Dumbledore adjust his glasses, he understood that this was his signal to leave.

Before stepping out of the door, I still couldn't help but feel suspicious.

"You said you wouldn't be here forever?"

"Oh yes, I wouldn't. Unfortunately, it's just as you suspected."

"How do you know—"

“I always have some intuition, and my intuition is usually right.”

Dumbledore spoke without emotion, as if he were just talking about tea after dinner.

His mind flashed back to the last time he and Draco visited Nurmengard.

In the silent gaze before leaving, Grindelwald left a prophecy in his mind.

Snape was not told anything more.

He knew in his heart that when the time came, he and Draco would understand.

But Snape still didn't push open the stone door of the office.

"Why are you helping her like this?"

I have a feeling this will be the man's last question tonight.

I returned to my desk and slowly sat down on the chair tiredly.

"She's been helping Harry since second year, hasn't she?"

The voice was trembling, but the same unstable tone came from the black robe with his back to him.

"So, it's all for Harry after all?"

"Not for Harry. But not for Draco either."

"I am selfish, Severus."

He took off his glasses with his wrinkled palms and covered his old face.

"That's a feeling we've all lost."

"I hope that helping her can atone for our sins."

The warmth in the palms may come from the moisture in the eyes.

Snape's tone was equally choked when he replied.

"Thank you. I hope so, too."

-

The morning after Snape left, owls delivered copies of the Daily Prophet.

The new semester has a dark start.

"Harry! You said you felt Voldemort last night - come on! Ron!"

"You think Voldemort is happy?"

Hermione's whispers echoed in Harry and Ron's ears.

While unhappily casting a spell to clean up the pumpkin juice that Ron spilled.

"Yes. He has been happy for a while, but he was very, very excited yesterday."

Harry pressed impatiently on his still sore scar.

"I think I know the reason."

Hermione frowned and spread the Daily Prophet out in front of them.

"No wonder, Harry..."

Ron opened his mouth and couldn't help but let out a sigh that was almost fearful.

The front page of the Daily Prophet had these words in large letters:

Escape from Azkaban!

The Ministry of Magic is worried that Black will call on former Death Eaters!

Below the title, there are several black and white photos, the figures in them are almost crazy:

Antonin Dolokhov: The brutal murderer of the Prewitt brothers.

August Rookwood: For leaking Ministry secrets to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

And a witch with messy black hair and a haughty smile—

Bella Lestrange: Tortured Longbottom's parents, driving them crazy.

Bella's former beauty has disappeared along with the madness and terror.

But Harry could still recognize the familiar, distinctive ridge of the jaw.

Sirius and Narcissa both had similar outlines, not to mention her.

A pain flashed through my heart.

I couldn't help but steal a glance at the Slytherin table.

The charming figure repeatedly appeared in the heart that was cruelly pried open by Snape last night.

Draco's eyes were cold, just like when they said goodbye in the snow and wind that day.

-

The sofa next to the fireplace in the Slytherin lounge has always been reserved for the core figures of the academy to rest.

This means that on normal days, Draco, Daphne and Pansy can often be seen here.

The same thing happened in the lounge tonight.

As the night deepened, the students left and returned to their dormitories.

Two figures in stark contrast slowly moved towards the sofa.

Goyle's tall stature made Nott, who was already thin, look even more daunting.

After watching the two people arrive and confirming that there were only five of us left in the lounge,

Pansy and Daphne looked at each other quickly and took Draco's hand together.

Continuing the topic that could not be mentioned in front of others before leaving the dormitory.

"This is no longer something to laugh about..."

Pansy spoke with some doubt, and Draco could only respond sadly but helplessly.

"I know, but—"

Before she could finish her words, Daphne closed her eyes, frowned, and spoke softly.

"At that time, to ensure that Voldemort would not retaliate, you had no choice but to agree, right?"
