Chapter 83 Attack
Parkinson stared at her with gritted teeth, as if he wanted to strangle Afro to death.
The professors who were discussing the solution stopped and looked at Avro with confusion. Snape glanced at her and Parkinson intriguingly, his half-closed eyes making it impossible to see his expression.
Dumbledore turned, his blue eyes observing Aphrodite through his half-moon glasses, his long fingers gently brushing through the trailing robes.
"Miss Campbell?"
Afro cast a provocative look at Parkinson, then turned to Dumbledore and his little face became humble and orderly again.
"Professor, everyone's handwriting is different. Why don't we have everyone write this sentence again? Whoever's handwriting is the most similar will be the one who did it."
In the silent corridor, her unique voice seemed even colder, clean and clear. But the words she spoke hit someone's heart like a hammer.
Parkinson's scarlet eyes flashed a trace of panic, her legs trembled unconsciously under the wide black robe, and her hands tightly grasped the brush hidden in the robe. She tried hard to pretend that she was calm, but her heart was pounding under her chest.
Dumbledore keenly noticed that Avro was looking towards the crowd. His cold eyes paused on the pale-faced Parkinson for a moment, then returned his gaze to Avro.
"Miss Campbell's idea is good, but..."
"It's very troublesome." Snape stepped out from behind Dumbledore and glared at Parkinson in a corner where no one could see him. He straightened his robes and spoke calmly as usual, "I don't think a second-year student can cast this spell. This shows that Potter and Campbell are not suspicious."
As soon as Snape finished speaking, all the sounds in the corridor disappeared. The crackling sound of the burning torches was amplified, and the young wizards held their breath, looking at Snape with their big eyes as if they had seen a ghost.
Merlin's hip axle! Everyone knows that Slytherin can't stand Gryffindor, and Snape can't stand the savior!
What's the play now? A Shakespearean comedy?
"Ha! If only I were here, I just happen to know the spell to break the curse!" Lockhart reached out and touched Mrs. Norris's hair, and said something ridiculous! His boastful look made people want to beat him up.
At least that's what Snape must have thought!
Afro glanced at Snape, who had his hand on the wand, and prayed silently in her heart that Lockhart would be sent back directly!
"Sorry, I was just expressing my feelings!" Lockhart, who thought he had a charming smile, felt the awkwardness in the air. His smile was stuck on his face and he retreated awkwardly behind Magg.
"The prefects of each college should take the students of their own college back first. Miss Campbell will stay behind." Dumbledore pointed his long finger at Aphrodite to keep her, but Aphrodite's suggestion was not adopted.
Parkinson, who was hiding in the crowd, breathed a sigh of relief, and when he saw that Afro was left behind, he smiled triumphantly.
But she didn't notice that several freshmen from the same college standing next to her saw her crazy look and silently moved away from her.
Even if Parkinson noticed, she wouldn't care! She only had eyes for Afro, and as long as she was unlucky, she was happy!
After the little wizards left, Sprout comforted Filch, the cat owner, who was holding the cat, and told him that Mrs. Norris could still be treated with potions.
"Of course! I'll do it!" The conspicuous Lockhart stood up again, unwilling to be left out, and even put his hand on Snape's shoulder, grinning at him with a playful smile.
"I am the Potions Professor of the academy!" Snape stared at Lockhart's hand grimly, as if he could stab him to death with his eyes!
The boys who were taken back looked at Avro who was left behind with concern. Harry wanted to say that he would stay too, but Wood and Percy covered his mouth and carried him away.
Afro winked at them soothingly, her pretty face was calm, as if she was not the one left behind, but just a member of the crowd invited to watch the show.
Dumbledore brought Aphrodite, who seemed to be on a spring outing, to a stone wall at the end of the corridor on the fifth floor.
"Lemon Olaf."
The stone wall slid to the left in response, revealing a brass statue with a lion's body and an eagle's head. With the sound of gears turning, the statue rotated and rose, and the spiral staircase slowly rose.
Dumbledore took the first step up a flight of stairs and took the ascending staircase to the headmaster's office. Afro followed his example and also stepped onto the stairs.
The shiny oak door was opened a crack, and Afro pushed it open, revealing a round room. On the dark wooden table were many strange little objects, which emitted smoke and made tiny sounds.
The walls were covered with portraits of past Hogwarts headmasters, and the Sorting Hat was placed on a shelf behind the desk.
"Sit down!" Dumbledore touched the phoenix Fawkes perched on the gilded branch behind the door. Fawkes spread his wings and shook them, shaking off feathers all over the ground.
My hands are itchy, I want to touch them!
Afro looked at the fluffy, fiery red phoenix and her hands hidden under her school robe unconsciously rubbed the corner of her clothes.
"I'm sorry to let you see Fawkes like this." Dumbledore took out his wand and waved it in the air to clear the dust formed after Fawkes fell and burned.
"It's in—"
"Phoenix rising from the ashes, kid. Amazing, isn't it?"
After Aphrodite sat down, Dumbledore enthusiastically recommended his favorite candy. The crazy way he recommended it was very similar to the time when Aphrodite recommended the drama to his roommates.
After Dumbledore sat on the chair, his waist-length silver-white hair dragged on the ground along with his purple cloak. He placed his index fingers together on the table, and looked at the girl opposite with his blue eyes flashing.
"Aphrodite, can I call you that?" After getting a positive answer, Dumbledore continued, "I am glad that Harry has a friend who trusts him so much."
Seeing Avro's doubt, Dumbledore smiled, and the wisdom of the years seemed to be hidden in his wrinkled skin.
"The professor already knows who it is..."
"Just do what you want."
Dumbledore leaned forward, his shoulders drooping naturally, his eyes drifted over Aphrodite's head and fell on Fawkes behind the door. The blue eyes behind the half-moon glasses were filled with emotions that Aphrodite could not understand.
“With a heart that pursues the truth, continue to move forward firmly.”
Dumbledore waved his hand past his robes, the oak door of the headmaster's office flew open, and he grabbed a handful of candy from the plate and placed it in Aphrodite's hand.
"Go ahead, kid. Happy Halloween!"
A bright moon hangs high in the night sky, like a shining pearl, emitting soft light. The walls on both sides of the corridor are pale and quiet under the moonlight.
The young wizards all returned to the lounge, and Aphrodite was the only one left in the long corridor. The sound of her leather shoes tapping on the floor echoed in the empty room.
In Afro's mind, 23 was not afraid of trouble and put one classic picture of Sadako after another in her head.
Coupled with the already quiet and dark environment, Afro felt a chill running up his spine, and suddenly, he heard slow footsteps behind him!
