Chapter 419: Finally No Need to Go to Work
Neville saw Ron and Hermione again, and he jumped out of the portrait with a scream of surprise, hugged Aphrodite first, and then hugged Harry and the others one by one.
"I always told Seamus that you would come back sooner or later!"
Neville was disheveled at this time, and one of his eyes was swollen.
"Neville, what's wrong with you?" Afro took the remaining potion on the table, poured it on a piece of gauze, and then applied it to Neville's eye sockets.
Neville took the gauze and didn't take his wound seriously: "It's nothing, Seamus is the one who is miserable."
He turned around and greeted Sirius, seeming to be used to their presence here.
"No, we need some..."
He walked over to Aberforth, holding a crumpled piece of parchment with the supplies they needed written on it.
"Do you really think this is a relief station?" Aberforth said fiercely, "Why are you running around? There are Death Eaters outside!"
After saying that, he took the parchment and left the room. Less than a minute later, he came back with a package in a paper bag in his hand.
Apparently Aberforth knew Neville would come to him for these things.
But Aberforth still had a bad temper: "Let's go, let's go! A bunch of annoying little brats!"
Neville put the paper bag in front of the portrait first, then climbed up along the mantelpiece. He turned around and offered his hand to Afro, helping her climb onto the platform.
"Thank you, Aberforth," Harry said to him. "I don't know how to thank you enough -"
"Take care of yourself. I can't save you a second time." Aberforth said gruffly.
Sirius smiled and waved to Harry, and they walked through the hole behind Ariana's portrait and into a dark tunnel.
"This tunnel isn't on the Marauder's Map, is it?" Harry asked as they walked.
Neville walked in front, the wand in his hand emitting a faint light to illuminate the way ahead: "When the school started, they blocked all the passages in the school. This is the only one that survived."
"What's the current situation at the school?" Afro withdrew his gaze from the shadow cast on the smooth wall and asked about Hogwarts.
The smile on Neville's face slowly faded, and his voice was no longer as cheerful as before, and was a little hoarse: "School...it doesn't feel like Hogwarts anymore."
"Snape is the headmaster, and there is a female wizard named Alecto." Neville leaned down slightly, and the passage under his feet turned into an uphill slope: "She is now in charge of discipline and Muggle courses-"
"She loves to punish students. Umbridge is a good person compared to her."
Afro looked at the particularly deep wound on the corner of Neville's eye and frowned slightly: "Is this how you got injured?"
There was anger in her words, and the rising ending tone made it possible to hear her rage.
If she had known this earlier, she would have let Snape take both brother and sister away. She was afraid that the disappearance of all the well-known Death Eaters would cause unnecessary trouble.
Neville smiled nonchalantly and reached out to touch it: "I left it when I asked her in her class how much Muggle blood was on her hands."
"There's a time for speaking out," said Ron.
"You didn't hear what she said." Neville slowed down his pace, as if he was about to reach the end of the tunnel: "There is another Death Eater who teaches the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. He likes to let students practice the Unforgivable Curses on others."
As they spoke, a stone door appeared in front of them, just like the one behind Ariana's portrait.
Neville pushed the door open, climbed in, and shouted to the person at the door, "Look who's here!"
Harry followed them out. Afro was blocked behind them and could not see the scene in the room. He could only hear several people screaming.
"Harry! Harry Potter, he's back!"
"Aphrodite! Ron! Hermione!"
The colorful tents crowded the room, dazzling them, and they were surrounded by more than 20 people, just like after every Quidditch game.
"Okay, quiet down," Neville called out.
"Is this the Room of Requirement?" Hermione looked at the hammock hanging from the ceiling and the tapestries of various colors. There were the colors of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, but the green of Slytherin was nowhere to be seen.
Neville nodded, and he continued the topic that he had not finished in the secret passage: "Lovegood's The Quibbler was too sharp, so they kidnapped Luna on the train back to school -"
"Luna is safe," Harry said quickly.
"I know." Neville took out a gold coin and an envelope from his pocket: "She sent a letter."
Hermione recognized it as the fake Galleon she had made to deliver the message, and her cheeks flushed slightly with excitement.
"It's all thanks to these gold coins that we were able to gather together in a short period of time."
"The Room of Requirement can conjure up what we need, except for some potions and food." Seamus's face was as swollen as Neville's, and his body was covered with scars: "Until we found this secret passage and Aberforth."
"Is everyone here?" Ron looked around and found many familiar faces.
Seamus shook his head. "Several Slytherin students went out to get information."
"Slytherin?!"
Seamus pointed to a corner of the room, where there was a small green and silver blanket and a few scattered hammocks.
"At first we didn't believe them and thought they were Snape's spies, but then we found out they were all Muggle-bloods or half-bloods from Slytherin," Neville explained.
"They also have..." Seamus glanced at Avro secretly and said carefully, "There are also letters from Draco and Theodore, which give us the choice of protecting them or doing nothing."
Harry looked at the Slytherin position with only four or five hammocks in front of him, and knew that Neville and Seamus had chosen to accept them.
"What should we do next?" Neville looked at them hopefully.
Harry opened his mouth, he knew Voldemort would be here soon and he didn't want to take his classmates with him to die.
"I--"
Just as he was about to reject Neville, a Slytherin student in crooked house robes ran in.
He shouted in panic, "They know. They know you're back."
All the students were wearing school robes and marched in an orderly manner to the auditorium.
The four house tables in the auditorium were removed, and only students from the four houses stood on both sides of the empty auditorium.
Standing on the staff podium were a thin woman and a stocky, hunchbacked man.
Snape's flowing robes gently brushed across the floor. He looked at Afro in the team without any disguise, and couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth.
Finally he doesn't have to go to this crappy class!
Bring back Dumbledore!
His hair is about to fall out!
