Chapter 376 Slughorn's Secret

"All right," said Slughorn, returning to the table. He thrust his already swollen chest forward, until the buttons on his waistcoat were about to burst. "I've prepared a few potions for you to take a look at."

He pointed to the cauldron near the Slytherin table, which contained a seething mass of water.

"Can anyone tell me what this is?"

Slughorn walked behind Avro who was in a trance and patted her hard. "Does Miss Campbell know?"

Afro straightened up slightly from his chair and looked towards the crucible filled with water.

"It's truth serum, sir," Avro said, looking him in the eye, "a colorless and odorless potion that can force anyone who drinks it to tell the truth."

Slughorn nodded happily at her, and pointed to the slightly smaller cauldron in the middle. "Very good, Miss Campbell, can you tell me about this?"

Afro watched as Hermione once again raised her hand first, "Sir, my friend would rather answer."

Slughorn looked a little surprised, but he still looked at Hermione. Hermione named the potions in the second and third cauldrons one by one, and Slughorn showed his sincere admiration. He walked to Hermione and continued to ask questions.

"Honey, can you tell me your name?"

"Hermione, Granger"

"Granger? Are you related to Hector Dagworth Granger, the founder of the Extraordinary Apothecary Association?"

Hermione shook her head and said she was a Muggle-born.

Avro saw a few Slytherin students next to Draco whispering something, and then they laughed secretly.

She moved her fingers, and suddenly a burst of hot steam came out of the crucible in front of the two people and sprayed them both.

Following two screams, Slughorn glanced at them with disdain and uttered a spell casually.

His enthusiasm to get to know Hermione was interrupted by two students. Slughorn said to Hermione kindly, "Add twenty points to Miss Granger of Gryffindor!"

The two Slytherin students looked as ugly as if they had eaten shit, and they didn't even raise their heads during the rest of the class.

Theodore took a deep look at Afro, who seemed to be indifferent, and a meaningful smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

His little rose always has many little secrets.

"Let's start the class. I will give this as the prize for this class." Slughorn smiled and tapped the edge of the black cauldron with his wand, attracting everyone's attention.

The black crucible was filled with golden liquid, like molten gold, which splashed happily like a golden necklace, without a drop spilling outside.

"What's this, sir?" McMee asked, raising his hand.

"It's the Lucky Potion." Afro said excitedly, "It's a lucky potion that can bring you good luck."

Slughorn was watching her intently, and the whole class straightened their backs.

"That's right, so please open your books, and the person who does the best will get a small bottle of Felicis."

Draco frantically flipped through his copy of Advanced Potion Making, set out a cauldron and a scale, and said to Avro, "Wait until I get the Felicis, and we'll have a lucky day together."

Afro reached out and found the correct page for him, then touched Draco, whose fur was slightly bristling.

"Then you have to work harder."

Draco began to cut the valerian root encouragedly, and Avro glanced up at the frowning Harry, knowing that he had now got Snape's textbook.

Ten minutes later, the classroom was filled with light blue gas. Hermione and Aphrodite moved the fastest, and the liquid in their crucibles was almost brown.

Harry looked down at the textbook with the Sleepy Beans in his hand. The textbook said that squeezing it with a silver dagger would make it easier to release juice than slicing it.

He leaned towards Afro with doubt, "Afro, can I borrow your silver knife?"

"Okay, take it." Afro's eyes never left her crucible. At this time, the color of her potion had begun to change, gradually turning into snow-blue.

Harry made the potion according to the markings in the textbook. Harry, who was far behind most of the students, began to catch up slowly and even surpassed Hermione who was stirring the potion.

Across the table, Ron was cursing under his breath; his potion looked like diluted Coke.

After a few minutes, Slughorn shouted, "Time is up, stop what you are doing."

He shuttled back and forth between the tables, checking each crucible in turn. When he saw that the Aphrodite crucible was approaching a light-colored liquid, he nodded with satisfaction. It seemed to be the potion that satisfied him the most in the entire classroom.

"Not bad, Miss Campbell." Slughorn turned and looked at the cauldron next to him. He was suddenly stunned, with an expression of incredible joy on his face. "Excellent, very excellent, Harry!"

He grinned happily, holding Harry's arm with one hand, and with the other hand he took out a small bottle of golden liquid and handed it to him, "You inherited your mother's talent, Harry."

"Lily was also so skillful in Potions class."

Harry was in very complicated emotions, he didn't think he had inherited his mother's talent in Potions class, on the contrary, he was worse.

He stuffed the crystal bottle into Avro's pocket and smiled at the disappointed Hermione and stunned Ron.

Before the get out of class ended, Avro walked over to Slughorn, who was packing up teaching materials, and helped him put away the scattered scales and weights.

"Sir, which of these students do you like best?"

Slughorn paused as he was packing his things, then a kind and gentle expression came into his face.

"Too many, dear. I have so many students, all of them so wonderful, I can't say which one is my favorite."

Afro was dissatisfied with his answer and continued to ask, "What impressed you?"

"Little Afro, I have no way to answer your question. I like my students very much. They all have their own characteristics."

After that, the bell rang. Slughorn seemed to be afraid that Afro would continue to ask questions, so he hurriedly picked up his briefcase and left.

"Dude, how did you do that?" Ron couldn't wait to ask Harry after leaving the dungeon.

"Good luck." There were many students from other colleges around, so Harry could only speak vaguely.

"Aphrodite, what are you going to say to the professor?" Hermione still looked lost and had no interest in anything. But she still noticed Aphrodite's actions.

“Dig deep into your soul.”

Harry and Ron looked at her in confusion, while Hermione nodded approvingly.

"This professor is really strange. He seems to only like dealing with the powerful and wealthy."

Draco, who was originally full of confidence, walked past them dejectedly after class, carrying his schoolbag alone, without saying a word.
