Chapter 297: First Letter of School

Members of the Order came and went regularly, sometimes staying to eat, sometimes just for a few minutes to chat.

But since the hearing, Dumbledore had not come here once, and Harry had not even received a letter from him.

On the last day of the holiday, Afro was writing and drawing on the small wooden table in front of the sofa when Ron walked into the living room with a pile of envelopes.

"Here comes the book list." He threw an envelope on Noah, walked to Afro, and gently placed the envelope next to her hand.

"I thought they had forgotten and should have come a long time ago..."

As usual, there were two pieces of parchment in the envelope, one to remind her that school would start on September 1st, and the other contained the books she would need for the next semester.

Snapped!

Fred and George Apparated suddenly to Avro's side, something she was used to by now.

"We are wondering whether to decide on Slinka's book." Fred hugged Afro's waist and buried his face in her neck.

"Apparently Dumbledore has found a new professor for the Defense Against the Dark Arts class." Afro looked at the list of books carefully and then put it aside.

Fred picked up her envelope, turned it over and shook it.

"It's time to look for it." Harry squeezed in on the other side of Avro and saw Fred opening the envelope. "What are you looking for?"

"Look at what happened to the four professors before." Afro said, shaking his head.

"One was expelled, one died, one had his memory wiped, and one was locked in a box." Harry counted them one by one on his fingers.

Several people couldn't help laughing, and Fred finally confirmed that there was nothing in Afro's envelope except two pieces of parchment.

"how come……"

Afro turned around and saw Ron standing there motionless, his mouth slightly open, staring blankly at the parchment.

"Prefect?" Fred came around behind him and stared at the letter in disbelief.

George rushed forward, snatched the envelope from Ron's hand, and poured out a badge from it.

"That's impossible!" George lowered his voice.

"It must be a mistake!" Fred held the letter up to the light, as if carefully checking its authenticity.

"What do they mean?" Harry asked confusedly, looking at the red and gold thing in George's palm.

Afro looked at the three brothers playing and fighting with a smile in his eyes, "Ron is the new prefect."

Harry was genuinely happy for Ron, but it seemed that he was not entirely happy.

Fred and George's heads turned in unison, all four eyes fixed on Harry and Afro.

"We thought it would be you two," Fred said, counting their exploits.

We talked about the Philosopher's Stone in the first grade and the Triwizard Tournament in the fourth grade.

"Mum is going to be disgusting again," George sighed and shoved the badge into Ron's hand.

Ron still said nothing, took the badge dully, and handed it to Afro, as if asking her for confirmation.

Hermione rushed in, her face flushed, an envelope in her hand.

"You-you got it?"

She saw the badge in Afro's hand and screamed.

"There are two women this time..." she shouted excitedly.

"No, Hermione." Avro quickly thrust the badge at Ron. "It's Ron. Not me."

Hermione was so surprised that her mouth couldn't close. "Ron? Are you sure? I mean--"

"My name is on the letter." Ron turned and looked at her with a provocative and proud expression, raising his eyebrows.

Hermione seemed completely confused. "Okay... wow! Ron, that's amazing!"

The tone was perfunctory.

Molly stood at the door of the living room holding a pile of freshly washed clothes. She glanced at the envelopes in everyone's hands.

"Give me the list of books, and I'll go to Diagon Alley to buy them this afternoon."

She said as she folded her clothes on the sofa, "Ron, I'll buy you another set of pajamas, what color do you want?"

"Red and gold," Fred said with a smirk.

“To match his badge,” George added.

Molly absentmindedly rolled up a pair of socks, "What to go with it?"
