Chapter 174 The Whomping Willow Version of Rope Skipping
"Scabby!" Ron didn't care about his bleeding fingers and ran in the direction where the mouse disappeared.
"Ron!" The corner of his clothes fluttering in the wind brushed across Afro's palm, and she watched the boy's figure disappear at the foot of the mountain.
The three of them hurriedly chose a small path and ran down it.
Ron's unique little crying voice echoed halfway up the mountain. Afro barely stopped her steps because of Harry's sudden stop, and she almost bumped into his back.
"Ron?"
Ron sat sprawled on the floor, Scabbers back in his pocket, clutching the quivering rat against his chest.
"We'd better get out of here quickly." Hermione looked cautiously at the towering tree behind Ron. They had entered the range of the Whomping Willow.
Harry nodded in agreement, his eyes fixed on the branches of the Whomping Willow, and his hand at his side quietly hooked around Aphrodite's finger.
They retreated cautiously step by step. The branches of the Whomping Willow moved a few times, and Harry stopped immediately.
Suddenly, a black figure leaped up from behind them and pounced on Ron who was sitting on the ground.
"Ron, run!" the three shouted anxiously.
The terrified Ron subconsciously raised his arms to block himself. The black figure's target was not him, but the thing in his arms.
The black dog barked softly, lowered its head and nudged something in Ron's arm. Ron screamed, protected the pet in his arms, and slapped the black dog that stepped on him.
This action seemed to anger the black dog. It opened its mouth and bit Ron's collar, then disappeared under the tree with him like a black shadow.
"Aphrodite! Harry! Help me!" Ron used all his strength to grab the weeds on the ground, but the strong pull still dragged him away from his companions.
"Wait! Ron!"
Avro and Harry ran towards them as fast as they could, but Harry lunged forward and grabbed Ron's shoelaces, but Ron was still dragged into the hole.
Afro, who was a step slower, stopped beside Harry, first helped Harry up while he was holding his shoelaces, and then when she wanted to squat down to check the tree hole, a vine that fell from the sky swept them aside.
Afro fell to the ground and felt that her internal organs had shifted. The severe pain coming from inside her body made her unable to think about the current situation.
Harry endured the great pain, covered his abdomen and stood up, not forgetting to help Afro.
"Where did it hurt?"
Just as Afro was about to answer Harry's question, she saw another vine sweeping over. She pulled the boy hard, and the two of them dodged the vine sideways.
"Hermione, be careful!"
Hermione squatted down obediently, and another vine flew over her head and smashed into the ground.
"Get out of the way!" Harry and Afro held hands and ran towards the tree hole, dodging the dancing branches and vines.
"Jump!"
Harry jumped up with Avro's strength, as if he were participating in a skipping competition, and they dodged the branches that swept low.
"Afro, think of a solution quickly!"
"I can't jump anymore!" Hermione hugged a vine, lay on it, and flew into the sky with the vine.
Afro anxiously recalled the information about the Whomping Willow, but he did not forget to stop moving.
23 helped Afuluo count in the system space, counting how many times she jumped in total.
"I remember! There's a knot on the trunk of the Whomping Willow. Press it and it will stop!" After Afro thought of a solution, he immediately shouted at the top of his voice.
"Great! Where is the knot?"
"I don't know, we need to look for it!"
Afro only remembered that there was this setting, but she didn't remember where it was exactly.
"I see it!" Hermione, as the vines danced in the air, immediately noticed something unusual on the tree trunk.
As the branch swept low over the sky, Hermione took advantage of the opportunity to jump to the trunk and raised her hand to press down on the knot.
The Whomping Willow seemed to have paused. Before they could celebrate their survival, a branch hit Harry on the back, and Harry, grinning foolishly, fell headfirst into the tree hole.
Afro, who was trying to grab Harry, tripped over a branch and fell into the hole.
They fell down the sloping black passage onto a flat land.
Harry, who landed on the ground first, opened his arms and hugged Aphrodite tightly behind him.
In the darkness, warm breath swirled around my ears. My face was pressed against the boy's strong body, and I could feel the vibration of his chest.
"Thank you."
"are you OK?"
The two of them spoke at the same time in perfect tacit understanding. Afro quickly pushed him away and unconsciously touched her hot cheeks.
The smell of hormones seemed to still linger on her nose. For a moment, she couldn't tell whether her heart was beating so fast because of the exciting exercise just now or because of the boy in front of her.
"I have a bad feeling." Harry stood up and considerately brushed the dust off the girl. His solemn tone was particularly clear in the empty underground space.
"It'll be fine." Afro reached out her hand to smooth Harry's frown, and put her other hand into his palm.
"Do you remember the birthday present I gave you?"
Harry touched his chest, he never took it off.
"Open it and let's explore the truth together."
Harry obediently opened the pocket watch-style golden snitch necklace, and an imperceptible red dot flashed in the dark.
Afro didn't expect that this gift would have such an effect. She thought that perhaps the system's task could be completed in this way.
"Where are we now?" At this time, Hermione also came here through the cave. She glanced at the two people who were stuck together, raised her wand and looked elsewhere at the underground space.
"I never knew it was like this under the Whomping Willow."
"Let's go this way." Harry calmed himself down and led Afro towards the only road in front of them.
No matter what, he would take her away safely.
After an unknown amount of time, the three of them were exhausted and panting, struggling to move forward. A dim little exit was not far ahead.
They squeezed through the door one by one, and a dirty, dusty room appeared before their eyes. The wallpaper on the walls had begun to peel off, and the floor was covered with dirt.
"It looks a lot like the Shrieking Shack," Avro whispered, and she held Harry's hand tightly with some fear.
Even though she knew the story about the Shrieking Shack, she couldn't help but feel scared when she was there.
Harry patted her back gently and comforted the girl softly, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Suddenly, in the silent room, there was the sound of a door closing and a low, hoarse voice.
"Harry, you'd better stay away from her."
