Chapter 148 The Mysterious Boggart
"Very good, Campbell's answer is great." Lupin nodded to her with satisfaction, "But it's not very accurate."
"A Boggart has no fixed shape, and we don't know what the people on the other side are afraid of. The only thing we know is that when we let it out, it will immediately become the most terrifying one."
Lupin briefly introduced the characteristics of Boggart in a humorous way, which made the little wizards listen with great interest. They walked into the room unconsciously and stood opposite the closet.
"It's easy to break a Boggart. First let's practice the spell without taking out your wand."
Lupin raised his index finger and waved it in the air, trying to make the mouth shape of a spell, "Funny, funny."
"How funny!" Flint leaned against the wall and picked his ear with his little finger.
Afro turned back and glared at him, raised the corner of his mouth and waved his fist at him. Flint trembled and hid in the crowd.
Draco, who was standing with her first, clenched his little pink fist, looked straight ahead and listened to Lupin's lecture, but his hand was wrapped around Aphrodite's hand and put into his pocket.
After leading everyone to practice the spell several times, Lupin pointed out Neville.
"Tell me, what are you most afraid of?"
Neville's lips moved, and his voice was so low and indistinct that it seemed as if he hadn't spoken anything.
"Louder, Neville."
"S-Professor Snape."
There were a few chuckles in the classroom. Neville blushed and rolled up the corners of his clothes, but Lupin walked up to him and patted his shoulder.
"How's your grandma?"
"she……"
"Shh! Don't say it." Lupin whispered in Neville's ear, "Imagine him as your grandmother."
The wardrobe shook even more violently, and Lupin ordered everyone to step back and stand against the wall, leaving only Neville next to the wardrobe to give him space to move.
Next, the Boggart first transformed into Snape, who was wearing a floral dress and carrying a pink handbag, then into a spider wearing roller skates and a clown doll swaying back and forth.
"Next, Campbell!" Lupin changed a vinyl record, leaned on the edge of a table, took out a red apple, and ate it while smiling.
Afro looked at the huge clown swaying in front of him and felt that it was already very scary, just like a prop in an escape room.
The giant clown began to transform, and the black shadow twisted and shifted like clothes in a washing machine.
The students at the back became a little anxious and eagerly stuck their heads out to see what was happening in front.
A minute passed and the Boggart still hadn't taken shape.
Afro, who had relaxed, couldn't help but wonder in his heart, could it be that there were too many things that he was afraid of and he couldn't pick out which one was the scariest?
It turns out that Boggart is also a creature with advanced stage of indecisiveness.
Finally, it seemed to find the depths of Aphrodite's soul. The black shadow spread like smoke and turned into a gray mist.
Afro glanced at Lupin in confusion, wondering if something was wrong with the Boggart, or if the thing she was afraid of was actually the haze?
"Try to cast the spell, Campbell." This was the first time Lupin had encountered such a situation, but he still felt that it was just an illusion and not the true appearance of a Boggart.
Afro raised the magic wand in her hand and pointed it at the mist in front of her eyes. Many familiar scenes emerged in her mind. The movie-like picture finally stopped on a cluster of gorgeous fireworks.
"Funny!"
The gray fog turned into colorful fireworks, lighting up the darkness. The light of the fireworks dissipated, streaking through everyone's heart like a shooting star.
The little wizards in the back row looked at the gorgeous fireworks, which were breathtakingly beautiful and brought endless surprises.
"Well done, next one!"
Harry took a deep breath and took a big step forward under Afro's encouraging gaze.
The Boggart turned into a twisted black shadow again, which continued to extend and differentiate into a cloak-shaped object.
"Let me do it!" Lupin shouted, running forward suddenly and putting his arms outstretched between Harry and the Boggart.
The Dementors disappeared, and the next second turned into a silvery full moon hidden in the clouds. Lupin waved his wand without thinking, and the full moon turned into a deflated balloon that flew over everyone's head, and was finally locked in the closet by him.
"That's it for today."
The crowd erupted in drawn-out wails, and the students who had not yet experienced this stood where they were and did not want to leave.
"Sorry, everyone, please don't let this distract you." Lupin drove every little wizard who didn't want to leave to the door.
"Homework is to read the Boggart sheet and write down..."
Harry put on his schoolbag, turned around and looked at Lupin who was cleaning up the mess. He opened his mouth a few times, but swallowed the words back.
Unlike other students who were excited after class, Afro and Harry followed Ron one after the other, with their heads down thinking in complete sync.
"You seem to be playing a new game." Ron teased that their expressions and looks were as if they were carved from a mold, even the arc of their furrowed brows were exactly the same.
"I wonder why Lupin didn't let me face the Boggart?"
"Well..." Ron scratched his head, and the shirt tucked into his waistband slipped out of his pants as he moved. "Maybe he's afraid you'll become that person..."
Harry did picture Voldemort in his mind, but it was quickly replaced by another creature.
"Actually, I was thinking of the Dementors."
"Come on bro, I don't want to hear that name right now."
Ron changed his hand to hold the book and poked Harry's little arm with his left hand. "What do you think Afro is thinking?"
"Aphrodite, what are you thinking about?" Harry did not ask stealthily like Ron did, but asked directly and openly. He also wanted to know why the girl had been looking so conflicted since the get out of class was over.
"Ah, I was just wondering what that strange mist that the Boggart transformed into represents?"
"It means you are afraid of foggy days!"
Before Aphrodite could raise her hand to pat Ron, Harry patted her red hair for her.
"Xiao Afu, that means nothingness." 23, who was always paying attention to the world, took advantage of the opportunity and quickly gave the answer.
"Nothingness? What do you mean?"
"It means you're afraid that everything you've experienced is fake."
The two boys who had discussed many possibilities noticed that Afro was silent again. They looked at each other in silence and silently guarded her on both sides.
"Afro!" Bryce leaned against a stone wall with his hands in his pockets, his left leg slightly bent, and his cloak draped over his wrist, and he was carried by him so easily.
"Can you come to Hogsmeade with me next month?" Seeing the girl's gaze, Blaise straightened up, standing lazily in the same place, and raised his eyebrows at her with his playful peach blossom eyes.
