HP: Hogwarts Snake
Chapter 52: Simple Quidditch
The dimming sunlight of dusk shone onto the pages of the book in her hands, adding a bit of charm to the already plain and yellowed paper. The excited shouts of the boys could still be heard from afar, but this time the sound of a broom piercing the air came straight towards her.
Della stopped turning the pages, raised her head, lifted a corner of her sun hat, and looked in the direction of the voice.
The outer edges of the black spots kept changing as they ran towards her. When they were a little closer, Della could see clearly that they were their rolling black robes.
When the distance was closer, the two twins in front, whose outlines could already be seen, collided with each other. After knocking each other away, they showed off their skills and twisted the brooms in tacit coordination for a few rounds. While competing, they seemed to be mocking the people behind who could not keep up.
At this moment, Harry suddenly accelerated. He found the right moment to pass through the gap between the twins. The airflow they stirred up made them roll twice in the air awkwardly, and then they quickly adjusted themselves to catch up with Harry who was temporarily in the lead.
They chased each other up and down, rolling and rushing towards the roof where Della was. After several rounds, Harry was finally the better one and was the first to pass by Della's side, creating a gust of wind.
Della squinted her eyes to adjust to the sudden airflow, and the hand holding the corner of the sun hat lost strength, and the linen sun hat was accidentally caught in the airflow. She only saw the bow ribbon on it flash before her eyes.
At that moment, a rustling sound was transmitted to Della's ears through the whistling wind. The book in her hand, which she brought from the stone chamber, obviously could not withstand such rough flipping. The yellowed pages escaped from the cracks of the book. The flying papers seemed to be phantoms created by one of the pages, floating upwards at an extremely fast speed.
By the time Della reacted and pressed down on half of the book, the papers floating above her head were probably as numerous as the fluttering sycamore leaves in autumn. They were suspended in the air, trembling under the influence of countless air currents. If you look at it from the perspective of a single person, it was quite spectacular.
George and his men soon came roaring over. The papers that were originally only shaking slightly immediately jumped up and down. The airflow created by the few people rushing over made them move like crazy.
Fortunately, Della had already reacted completely by then. When everyone had passed through and the papers were still about to fall, she quickly picked up her wand and pointed it at the sky, "Quickly pause! - Return to normal!"
She cast two spells in succession, but after the second spell, the pages did not return as she had imagined. Instead, the book in her hand flew into the sky, and then the pages gradually returned to the book.
Della was just feeling a little strange when a huge cheer sounded behind her, mixed with Harry's scream. She turned around in a hurry to look, and even after the restored book fell back on her legs, she just casually put her hand on it.
Riding a broomstick was not a safe thing to begin with, but these Gryffindors were taking it a step further - well, mainly Fred and George.
When Della saw Harry, who was thrown into the air with a scream, being caught by the twins, she loosened her grip on the wand and made a comment in her mind, not knowing whether she was amused or speechless.
One of the twins noticed Della's gaze, let's assume it was Fred. He winked at Della slyly, then waved his hand and made a greeting sound like boys. The group quickly turned around and landed on the roof.
"It's not often that I see you like this." Fred, the leader, said as he ruffled his red hair. Ginny, who had just pushed her goggles onto her forehead, quickly stepped forward to smooth Della's hair that was messed up by the wind.
George, who was standing by, smiled and carried the frightened Harry to the front, still holding Della's sun hat tightly in his hand. "I've brought the culprit to you!"
"You really are, Fred. That was your bad idea," Percy seemed unable to bear it any longer. He patted Fred's shoulder forcefully. "If anything goes wrong, you'll be half responsible."
"Yeah, yeah! I was scared to death just now!" Ron shouted immediately after, his round eyes slightly wrinkled with fear and resentment.
"We didn't expect Harry to be so aggressive," George said nonchalantly, patting Harry on the shoulder. "This only proves that Harry is a good Quidditch player!"
After listening to their words, Della understood. She first smiled gently with Ginny, followed her movements and tidied her hair a few times, then shifted her gaze to the bow ribbon hanging from the sun hat in Harry's hand.
"Why, my hat has become a prop in some game of yours?"
"When we were playing Quidditch, Fred said you must be reading a book on the top floor with your hat on. He said that was the Snitch for our game."
Ginny took off her goggles, tossed her red hair, and continued, "Della, if you ask me, you really should teach him a lesson."
"It's quite interesting. I'm really worried about Slytherin's Quidditch next year. You lions are really amazing."
After putting the book on the wooden terrace, Della stood up with a smile. "But let's just say I have earned the right to punish you. Maggie will be in your care for the next few days, George, Fred, and of course, Harry—"
Hearing Della's deliberately drawn-out tone, Fred laughed with his hands on his stomach. He and George leaned against each other, as if they would fall down without one of them. "That's too kind, my lady. We will gladly accept your reward."
Harry adjusted his glasses and shyly handed the sun hat with a big pink ribbon to Della. As soon as Della's hand touched the hat, Maggie deftly took advantage of their handover to slide onto Harry. The sudden cool touch in the summer made Harry shudder.
"It seems that the punishment has to start from now on." Looking at Maggie who had already skillfully coiled around Harry's neck, Della raised her eyebrows slightly, and then said with some self-mockery, "I am just following the snake's will."
"Yeah, how come our dear Maggie likes you so much?" Fred said as he ruffled Harry's hair.
"It makes us all jealous." George rubbed it without any hesitation.
"Alright, alright, the sun is about to set, you should first take a look at what's happened here before you come and play."
Percy spoke in a slightly serious tone, and everyone realized that this attic used to store sundries had been in a mess due to the impact of several people. "In mom's mind, you are all suspects."
Ron shuddered, as if recalling some bad memories. He quickly pulled Harry out and pushed George and Fred, "Hurry, hurry, pack it up before Mom comes back from the market, or I'll be in trouble!"
"Even if you are unlucky, you still have your brother to accompany you."
"Little Luo Luo~"
"It's because of you that I am the most unlucky one!"
Ron's face turned red. Seeing his two brothers grinning, he had no choice but to take a deep breath and look pitifully at Della and Ginny. "Sister, you will say less, right? And Della, your magic is so good, come and help me."
"As long as you don't reveal yourself tonight." Ginny raised her head and responded to Ron's words.
"I'd love to, Ron." Della raised her wand. Perhaps no one could resist such wet puppy eyes, she thought to herself.
After that, everyone cleaned the room. Even with the existence of magic, it was impossible to solve the problem with just a few spells when there were so many items and no one knew their details, not to mention that there were George and Fred who were either helping or making trouble...
Everybody was talking a lot, and from time to time someone would exclaim as if they had found a treasure.
After all, it is a storage room, and you can always find some interesting things there.
For example, there was someone's scribble-like diary, ribbons from the previous era, and even a love poem that Mr. Weasley wrote to his wife. This made the twins very excited.
Della thought that perhaps the act of tidying up the mudroom would be worse than messing it up.
Anyway, during the week she stayed here, Della just felt that the Weasley family was incredible. The word "incredible" might be a bit heavy, but Della wanted to describe this family that way.
Here, there is laughter, noise, and even partiality, but the love is consistent and strong, even extending to herself and Harry.
The only one who makes people unhappy is probably herself. For the sake of the past, the present and the future, she is always unwilling to let go of those things.
Della frowned and glanced at the green pattern on Harry's neck, then quickly lowered her eyes and continued to tidy up the terrace.
Just at this moment, a gust of wind blew open the restored "Resurrection" in front of her eyes, and a complex phase diagram appeared before her.
After taking a glance, Della's pupils trembled, and she quickly closed them, shrank them, and put them in her pocket.
