HP: Hogwarts Snake

Chapter 46 Leaving

The sound of a bird's beak hitting the wooden window made Della, who was packing her luggage, pause. She glanced at the vague white shadow of the bird outside the window, stood up, walked a few steps to the door of the room and locked it, then walked to the window and slowly opened it.

The snow-white little owl almost immediately hopped to her side, and Della stroked it. "It's been a week. The big owl from the Weasley family delivered the letter two days ago. If you don't come back today, you won't be able to find me. Are you a little owl who loves to get lost?"

The little owl hopped and clucked. Its voice was much sharper than that of an ordinary owl, and combined with its slightly intense movements, it seemed particularly indignant. Unfortunately, Della could not understand bird language and could not directly understand its grievances.

"Did you encounter some problems at Harry's house? After all, we have received replies from Hermione and George."

The little owl clucked and nodded vigorously. It bent down and pecked the red-dotted claw with its white beak. It picked up a wrinkled letter that had not even been sealed and placed it next to Della's hand. As if to express its dissatisfaction, it pecked the envelope twice.

It was obvious that Harry was in a hurry. There was not even an address on the envelope. Della raised her eyebrows and opened the letter.

'Dear Della, I am very glad to receive your greetings and the pastries you sent are very delicious. Please do not be sorry, in fact, your letter is the first one I have received this summer vacation...'

'...'

"Finally, I want to say sorry to your owl. My Hedwig has been locked in the cage for more than half a month. I can only let your owl take over Hedwig's cage for a while so that she can go out for some fresh air."

After reading Harry's last scribbled words, Della closed the letter and looked at the little owl. "How long has he kept you locked up?"

There was a loud knock in response to Della's question. Della frowned and continued to ask, "Only one day? Did someone prevent you from delivering the letter to Harry?"

The little owl was now even more angry, and it nodded so vigorously that Della felt it was about to fall down. She quickly touched its head to calm it down, and then she found it funny to see that the little owl was still very angry.

"Yes, yes, those who prevent my baby from delivering the letter are all bad guys. You have a bad temper. I will call you Ange."

Hearing this, Ang spread his wings affectionately but dissatisfiedly, and suddenly hugged Della's hand that was still touching his body, and bumped it with the top of his head, which made Della laugh. She raised her other hand and also touched Ang's body, which felt good.

At this time, the sound of knocking on the wooden door was heard, interrupting the happy time spent together between the man and the bird.

"Della, I cut some fruit for you~" Mrs. Mason's voice came out dully. Della made a gesture to Ang to keep quiet. After Ang flew outside and disappeared, she straightened her clothes and ran to open the door with a smile on her face.

“Fresh cantaloupe and raspberries~”

Mrs. Mason intimately showed Della the fragrant fruits in the fruit plate. As she spoke, she walked into the house, put the fruit plate on the small table with bookshelf, and then looked at Della's half-folded clothes on the bed.

"If only Nosy was as well behaved as you, Della. They all rely on me to tidy up. They have to leave tomorrow, and you don't seem to be in a hurry at all!"

"My brothers and sisters still have homework to do, Auntie."

"I don't see them doing much serious work except watching TV and reading magazines every day."

Della's relief made Mrs. Mason even more upset. She lowered her eyes and grumbled almost through gritted teeth, but soon became amiable again, "I'm so glad you decided to go with us, Della. My husband will definitely like you very much."

"I didn't expect that my classmates would happen to be nearby. I should thank Aunt for taking me there."

......

Nearly half an hour later, Ange flew into the house after hearing the sound of the wooden door closing.

Although Mrs. Mason's kindness to Della was due to Maggie's instigation, this love seemed much more real when she was dissatisfied with her own children. It was probably also a way to escape reality.

Della felt that she should have had other ways of escape before.

Della shrugged without thinking any more. She tilted her head to signal Angel to follow her, then squatted down and pulled out a seemingly ordinary suitcase from under the bed. She took out her wand, tapped the lock, and whispered the magic spell she had set up earlier, "Alchemy."

The lock on the suitcase opened automatically, making a metallic friction and collision sound. After a crisp click, the suitcase opened, revealing a black hole-like entrance.

"Go in," Della touched Ange, who had already fallen to her side. Seeing that he was huddled up and a little hesitant, she added caringly, "It's okay. That's almost where you were born, Ange."

Della's words calmed Angel's emotions a little, but it was still not enough to offset all the negative emotions. However, Della secretly hoped that Angel could steady his still trembling body behind her voice.

It walked with its short legs in a dying posture, step by step towards the suitcase that seemed to be emitting black air. Before jumping into the ever-changing black hole, it looked back at Della tragically.

The feeling of weightlessness made Ang subconsciously flap his wings. After flapping his wings a few times, the feeling of steady flying replaced the previous uneasiness.

Although the warm light in front of him was not from the unknown source of the stone chamber, the several shining metals embedded in the ceiling gave him a familiar feeling. The marble table and the books on three walls were also the same as those he had seen before, but the arrangement of the items was visibly much neater.

Just as Ang was flying up and down excitedly, the huge blue-gray snake tail pressed it to the ground with a snap. The hissing threat sound that followed in its ears completely made it obedient. It shrank back, and could only watch with its black bean-like eyes wide open as the black hole on the stone wall that led to its exit slowly disappear.

"Closed."

Della tapped her magic wand lightly, and the suitcase closed automatically. There was another sound of metal friction and collision, and after a "click", the suitcase was completely locked.

Dela reached out her other hand and touched the work she had completed overtime in the past few days. After a while, she pushed the suitcase back under the bed and stood up to continue packing.

Snape wanted to take me away that morning. After some negotiations, he reluctantly agreed to Della's plan to leave. Maybe he was not so reluctant because he didn't seem to be someone who was willing to take care of children anyway.

From this perspective, it was a blessing that Mr. Mason brought his wife along to discuss business, as it at least gave Della some room for choice.

Obviously, it would be inconvenient to study alchemy after leaving here. Della spent four or five days studying and finally created that small space last night using another suitcase as a carrier.

Although she tried her best to replicate the stone chamber, it was actually smaller than that. If she hadn't taken the time to work on the wand, she could have made a better one.

However, it was a pleasant surprise to find a way to block the trace in the secret room. Well, I should say thank you to Maggie for opening the book in front of me.

Thinking of this, Della sighed inwardly. It was obvious that besides being smart, Maggie was also knowledgeable far beyond imagination, but she was always unwilling to reveal it.

He evaded the question whether it was the Clingreton family or his own name, and even rarely revealed the alchemy that he was obviously familiar with, as if everything was waiting for him to discover.

Della couldn't tell whether Maggie was helping her grow or guiding her actions, but in fact, she was a little glad that she had doubts about Maggie.

This is a very contradictory mentality. I trust you, but I cannot completely believe you. If I have to say it, it can be regarded as Della's affirmation of herself.

In short, these days, Della has been filled with doubt and anxiety. The only thing that makes her happy is the letters she receives from her friends.

George and Fred were very satisfied with the little prank toys from the Muggle world she sent them, Hermione also liked the books she sent them, but Ron had some subtle emotions.

According to him, all the snacks sent to him were snatched up by his two brothers. Della could do nothing but express sympathy on this point.

Originally, I should let Angel go out with the written reply letter, but Harry seems to have some problems, so I can make plans after I see him.

Della just discovered this this morning that the people Mr. Mason wanted to discuss business with actually included Harry's uncle Vernon and his family.

Thinking of this, Della paused in her packing and frowned. She really didn't care about what was happening around her. Even in her life-threatening first year at Hogwarts, she was so absorbed in the dark magic that she ignored many things.

This is really not a good habit. Just accept whatever is given, as if you have no respect for life.

Della sighed softly. She looked towards the open window as usual. The clear blue sky and the fields in the distance came into view, but there was still no sight of the majestic owl.

Della laughed mockingly, walked to the window, and gently closed the wooden window, just like she did every time she stared at the window in a daze.

The next morning, while dealing with Mrs. Mason's questions about her small handbag, Della looked back at the small window on the second floor for the last time, and then left Wiltshire with the family.
