Della's smile froze, and Maggie's expression also stiffened. In that instant when their eyes met, time seemed to stand still.

"Why not—" Leah, who had just entered the room, couldn't finish her question. Her eyes widened, surprised that she had run into him so coincidentally.

"Ah! Sisters! Sisters!"

Breaking the awkward silence was Beretta's cheerful childlike voice. As soon as that pure and innocent voice came out, everyone looked at her small figure running towards Della and Leah, only seeing the hem of her princess dress swaying with each step.

"Berita, it's been so long since I've seen you!" Berita ran up to Della and Leah, eagerly pulling a colorful toy notebook from her bunny bag. Inside was a photo album with only two pictures of the two puppies Maggie had given her. "Berita has taken very good care of Spot and Wally!"

Della's gaze swept over the smiling puppies in the photo, their hair in braids and wearing skirts, but she looked more at Beretta's bright blue-green eyes. She smiled, bent down, and pinched Beretta's soft cheek. "Beretta is such a good girl. Sister Della is so happy for Spot and Wally."

“Because Spot and Wally are family!” Beretta said with a grin, throwing herself into Della’s arms for a hug. “Sister Della is the best sister too.”

"Huh? Where's Sister Lia?" Lia asked, sounding hurt.

Beretta looked up at her with wide eyes for a moment, then hugged Leah's long legs. "She's the best too! Beretta is a child! She can have many 'best's'!"

Her confident statement made everyone laugh. Maggie and Sheena had already walked to the side, and taking advantage of the good atmosphere, he quickly said, "What a coincidence! Shall we go shopping together for a while? We can even have a meal together."

This sentence doesn't sound like an intimate conversation between a brother and sister, but rather like a plea for the other person not to be so distant.

Sheena listened, her azure eyes flashing with pity for Maggie. She also invited, "Come on, Miss Della. Beretta would also like to spend more time with you."

Della's gaze shifted to Sheena, whose beautiful face, identical to Himena's, seemed less troubled than before. Considering that Maggie was beside her, this improvement was nothing short of miraculous.

When he's not being cruel, Maggie is indeed a polite and respectable person, perhaps even with a seemingly gentle demeanor as a cover, but the oppressive nature of his actions is hard to conceal, so almost everyone around him carries a sense of trepidation.

The group headed to the rest area. Because Maggie was nearby, Della lost interest in trying on clothes and instead asked the sales assistant to bring children's clothes for Beretta to wear. Maggie watched with a smile as Della focused on playing with the dress-up dolls.

From this store onwards, everyone's shopping purpose changed, and they all went to children's clothing stores and toy stores. Sheena, who had been enjoying a good life without worrying about money for a long time, was still speechless at the expensive things they wanted to buy for Beretta. Meanwhile, Maggie found Beretta very pleasing to the eye today, and without giving Sheena a chance to refuse, she bought everything and took it all away by swiping her card.

However, there were still some affordable expenses today. Because there were too many people, Maggie couldn't go to the upscale restaurant she had booked in advance, so she could only find a family restaurant nearby to sit down.

Once inside, Sheena glanced at Maggie, then at Della, and, with a keen eye, pulled Beretta to the restroom first. Leah followed, saying she wanted to go and pick out some wine with the chef, briefly creating some private space for Maggie and Della, who were sitting facing each other.

“Today is a wonderful day,” Maggie started the conversation, “and it reminds me of the last time we spent together in the Muggle world, a very happy day.”

“Those days are gone forever,” Della said coldly. “I’m even more pessimistic now. If you grow wildly without being loved, you’ll only cause pain to the people you love.”

“And I am pained by your pessimism,” Maggie took a deep breath. “I know you no longer trust my words, but I want to say that I have never felt that I have fallen, and I have always felt that the path I have shown you that is closer to me will lead to a better place.”

“It’s not hard to understand, after all, I’ve never seen you repent,” Della sneered. “And that only proves that you’re a scumbag at heart. As long as that premise exists, it’s impossible to highlight your so-called love for me.”

“It doesn’t matter,” Maggie smiled. “It’s good that we can still eat at the same table like this.”

Della rolled her eyes at him, then glanced at the corridor where Sheena and Beretta had just walked down, and changed the subject, "Where have you been staying lately? Is Sheena your girlfriend? If you don't love her, don't get too close to her, it's not good for her."

“I’m not at the point where I need to take on the responsibility of living with a woman. I want to have more fun,” Maggie waved her hand. “Sheena isn’t my girlfriend either, but she has written to me many times to ask me out. She’s here today, and it just so happens that I ran into you.”

"What exactly do you want from her?" Della frowned, unable to see through Maggie on this point.

Unlike her attitude towards Eleanor, Annika, and Leah, whom she had recommended to Maggie, Della hardly considered Sheena as her responsibility, aside from a sense of morality.

Because from the very beginning she was working to prevent Sheena from meeting Maggie, but fate played a cruel trick on her, and Maggie eventually saw her and she quickly fell into this gentle, suffocating trap.

However, considering that Sheena lived in a brutal and bloody hell caused by her family before meeting Maggie, it's hard to say whether Maggie's gentle trap might be a better ending for her in comparison.

After all, aside from her limited resilience, the frail Sheena is really naive and has eyes that look like they're easy to fool.

Della was also very confident in her ability to swindle Sheena out of everything.

“I don’t know either. Anyway, I don’t want to hurt her or sleep with her,” Maggie shrugged, his attention focused on the serious look on Della’s brow. He was enjoying his conversation with Della. “I’ll just keep her like this. It’ll all be over in the blink of an eye. Maybe I’ll meet someone new that I want to keep in the future.”

“You’re awful,” Della sighed.

The table fell silent again. After a while, the people who had left returned one by one, and soon Beretta's laughter rang out again.
