HP: Hogwarts Snake
Chapter 427 The Winding Talk on the Train
Voldemort made Della realize that it was really unnecessary for her to discuss her situation with Maggie in their shared information.
why?
Because she immediately became one of those people who were excluded from the inner circle and were not valued.
Della had just ignored Maggie's scoundrels and kicked him out of Riddle Manor when she received Voldemort's latest appointment—to return to Hogwarts to assist Draco in his important mission.
Whenever Voldemort explicitly stated that the important mission was to 'kill Dumbledore,' Della would think that Voldemort still valued her.
However, Voldemort only gave a brief mention of the information, saying that Draco would explain the details to her.
Della, who had learned from Maggie about Voldemort's harassment of Draco, looked at the letter and was convinced that Voldemort was trying to teach her a lesson.
Well, what else can we do?
Just give my rebellious daughter the cold shoulder.
While you're at it, go check on Harry's situation; his status as the savior is now basically confirmed.
Della thought about Tang Xueji's words and recalled the prophecy that Maggie had made in sync with her, feeling somewhat sentimental about the capriciousness of fate.
It's funny to think that the most powerful dark wizard was defeated by the weakest baby and is still trapped in this fate with no way out.
With such a sigh, Della appeared at King's Cross Station on January 5th, the day she returned to school, bringing the silence she had just brought to the Death Eater gathering to her former classmates as well.
Della ignored them, or rather, she no longer cared about their gazes. She had long since passed the stage of needing their attention for support. She boarded the train on her own and found a quiet carriage where no one else dared to enter.
Soon, some daring people approached her.
The door was pulled open, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked in, instantly filling Della's carriage.
Della looked up at them, glancing at Harry twice, and said calmly, "Long time no see."
"Where have you been, Della?" Hermione hurriedly sat down next to Della, took her arm and looked her over. "We haven't heard from you for a year and a half. We were very worried about you."
“Thank you for your concern. I went to get treatment, and the good news is that I’m all better now,” Della said, not resisting Hermione’s tugging at her, and quietly watching Harry and Ron gather around. “And you, besides your concern, is there anything else you want to ask me?”
"You'll answer all our questions?" Ron said bluntly, not optimistic, his president badge on his chest gleaming.
“I think I usually talk a lot,” Della smiled, “but it’s probably because I talk too much that important information gets buried.”
"You'll still be talking in that roundabout way today, won't you?" Harry's eyes narrowed; he had already glimpsed the ending from Della's manner of speaking.
“Some people just can’t be straightforward, and unfortunately, I’m one of them,” Della said. “So I guess I can’t do anything but apologize.”
Hermione looked at her sadly and couldn't help but say, "You must be very tired, Della."
“Slytherins are always like that.” Della remained impeccable, showing no sign of weakness or empathy.
“Then let’s not talk about that,” Hermione said decisively, ignoring the two boys next to her who were about to speak again. “I just want to have a good chat with my friend whom I haven’t seen for 18 months.”
"..." Della shifted her upper body, taking in more of Hermione's gaze. "I admire you, Hermione. You have both courage and thoughtfulness, and you're still willing to remain loyal to your friends."
Hearing Della use the word 'friend,' Hermione's eyes lit up. She felt closer to Della, but before she could say anything to bring them closer, Della pushed her hand away.
“And I must remain noble to noble people. I must say, I went home before I saw you again,” Della pushed Hermione away, “and listened to some teachings, some of which will probably make our new school year unpleasant.”
"You met with Voldemort?" Harry stepped forward and asked anxiously. "What was he going to do? Was it related to Draco?"
“Look, we’re about to have some unpleasantness now, Harry,” Della tilted her head, a half-smile on her face. “Some things are just unavoidable, but you can always prepare for the future. I believe that life outside of school can be just as wonderful for you.”
Hearing this, Hermione blinked slowly, lost in thought.
"Why do you always knowingly choose the wrong path?" Ron couldn't help but ask, "There's more than one path in the world, but you always seem to choose the one you shouldn't."
Della looked at Ron, who was seething with anger, but remained calm, as if she wasn't the one being scolded. She even nodded and said, "Perhaps the lack of passion is why my path is getting narrower and narrower, but for me, calmness does help me see a way out."
Faced with such a calm Della, Ron not only punched cotton, but all the force he threw also fell back on him. He deflated and took two steps back in disbelief.
"So, my considerate friends, would you be willing to be a little more considerate and give me some alone time?" Now that the matter was out in the open, Della politely gave them the hint to leave.
Harry wanted to say something more, but Hermione tugged at him and Ron, pulling them both outside.
“Oh, right, Harry,” Della called to Harry as the three were leaving, “tell Cynthia that I’m back, the promise is still valid, she can go back to France and still have everything she has in Europe.”
"As for whether she gets it alone or with someone else," Della continued, "that depends on your choices and abilities in England."
Harry actually wanted to go back and talk to Della some more, but Hermione tugged at his sleeve, so he had to stop turning around. "Okay, Della."
The door closed, and the carriage fell silent. Della turned her head to admire the scenery she hadn't seen in a long time. Outside the carriage, in response to Harry's question, "Why don't you talk to Della more?", Hermione pushed them into an empty carriage.
“Didn’t you hear? She made it very clear,” Hermione said seriously. “We’re leaving the school.”
“Isn’t that obvious?” Ron asked curiously. “Every student has to leave the school.”
“I’m afraid I’ll have to leave during the school year,” Hermione said. “Perhaps Voldemort wants us to leave, or perhaps we have no choice but to leave.”
“We have to leave? That’s impossible,” Harry frowned. “Dumbledore wouldn’t let the school be in danger.”
“Perhaps the key lies with Headmaster Dumbledore,” Hermione said in a low voice, looking at Harry, who had been in the most contact with Dumbledore this semester.
