HP: Hogwarts Snake
Chapter 424 "Family" Gathering
There was one more person in Durmstrang who could meet Della. Della talked to Lytia, and they finalized Lytia's identity as the hero who brought her back, and also discussed the loyalty of the Abate family.
To be honest, the concept of "loyalty" here is actually a bit discounted.
Della knew that Lydia had surrendered to Maggie because of the Death Eater Mark, and that the Abbott family had had close contact with Maggie during the time she had not left England.
But at least it wasn't Voldemort.
And although Maggie is a rotten snake, there is no doubt that she will not let others hurt her.
With the money, alchemical equipment and doctors for Grindelwald sent by the Abates, Della gradually accepted the reality that she would eventually have to face Maggie.
Fear? No.
Disgusting? A little bit.
Looking forward to it?
......
A little bit.
It’s such a pity that the person who controls her life is indeed the same kind as her who understands her best.
Time passed day by day, and Della and Lydia went to Malfoy Manor on Christmas Day, carrying the finished 'Elder Wand' and the ring that connected to Grindelwald's whereabouts.
"Are you and Draco still in a relationship?" Lydia tilted her head and asked Della in the luxurious carriage that could grow taller and thinner and shuttle on the road.
"We broke up a long time ago." Della said calmly, but also a little dazed, because she couldn't remember the reason for the breakup.
Before the breakup, there was no particularly big trigger, but she just couldn't bear it anymore. There was Maggie's instigation and the contrast between her true feelings outside, and she was full of entanglement and self-torture inside.
During that time, she really couldn't fall in love again or convince herself to maintain a relationship.
I feel really sorry for Draco. Not only was my sincerity trampled upon, but I also had to become a victim of her emotions.
"Do you still have feelings for him?" Lydia continued, "Now Voldemort has taken over his house to hold a rally. His family's situation is not good. I heard that Lucius Malfoy was only barely released from prison last month."
"Your father told me this in the letter." Della remained calm, no matter what she was thinking. "But we are only here now, Professor Abate."
There is no answer to the question of emotion, but reason is placed before everything else.
Lydia understood, she smiled silently and said nothing more.
Della looked out the window. It wasn't that she wasn't worried about Draco, but she was too emotionally moved by Maggie, and that overshadowed him.
As always, she ignored him.
From this perspective, separation may be good for both of them.
The scenery outside the window changed rapidly. One second it was a busy street, and the next second it was a quiet forest. After the trees retreated for a while, Della saw the open door.
The first time, she went to Malfoy Manor, after breaking up with Draco Malfoy.
Della looked at the withered white roses in the garden, sighed, straightened her tight and straight black robe, and followed Lydia to the castle-like house with bright lights.
There were Death Eaters who appeared hurriedly on the road. They would subconsciously look at the witches who were fewer in number here, and then they would be stunned. They would stare at Della in shock, unable to say a word.
Della didn't even glance at them, nor did she expect to get anything more from these people whose lives were in danger under Voldemort's command. She maintained her original pace and brought silence all the way to the hall where the banquet was held.
The whispers stopped, but the music was still playing. Della looked around the hall and paused. On the straight staircase in front of her, under a canvas covered with black cloth, was Maggie with a frown on her face.
The next second, the figure on the stairs disappeared, and a string of ethereal black smoke appeared in front of Della's eyes. Maggie moved over and hugged her tightly in her arms.
Della didn't struggle or respond. She just stood there like a wooden stick, with Maggie's whispers ringing in her ears.
"You're back... finally back... I'm sorry..."
Hearing the "I'm sorry" that she couldn't tell whether it was true or not, Della's eyes flickered, but her heart was not moved at all. She knew that language was no longer a means of communication between her and Maggie.
"Which uninvited guest has arrived?"
There was another sound on the stairs, and Maggie let go of her. Della looked over and saw Voldemort wearing a black robe and with a snake-like face. He placed one hand lightly on the escalator, and his eyes flashed red.
Lytia's body trembled twice, and she shrank her shoulders, which was rare, showing fear. Della still had that calm and stern face, but she finally moved.
Snapped--
Della looked directly at Voldemort and knocked down Maggie's hand on her shoulder. She said calmly, "It's just that a person who has been deceived twice has to go home."
The word "cheat" which implies dissatisfaction and the word "home" which always brings warmth appear in the same sentence.
Voldemort's narrow eyes moved, and he found this very interesting. "Being deceived twice? Any interesting travel stories, Della?"
Voldemort's voice was low and slow. He pretended to be ignorant even though he knew the truth, wanting to see what Della's attitude was.
"It's all in the past, Father. I believe you won't be interested in the little girl's pretentiousness," Della said self-deprecatingly, but she sneered, "I just don't know if this family still welcomes a rebellious child like me."
"Home is always home," Voldemort smiled as he looked at Della at the Malfoys' house. He stretched out his arms and gracefully made a welcoming gesture. "Welcome back, Della, I need you."
Before walking towards Voldemort, Della's eyes moved towards Maggie, and they quickly exchanged a look that only each other understood. Maggie followed Della as she walked up the stairs step by step.
Voldemort stood in the middle of the transfer platform, with his chin slightly raised, looking at the two smart people who might have other intentions standing respectfully in front of him under the gaze of all his believers who bowed to him.
One was a child he had not expected but was quite satisfied with. There were disagreements between them, their first meeting was unpleasant, and the bottle of unicorn blood probably also caused trouble, but Della could not disobey him in the end.
One reason was that he didn't want a clone to exist in this world. He didn't like the feeling of no longer being unique, but he had already tested it and found that Maggie couldn't defeat him. Before completely killing his threat, a Horcrux with self-protection capabilities would be safer...
The black cloth covering the Malfoy family portraits became the new canvas, and the king and the two Riddles who were beneath him became the new "family" on the canvas.
