HP: Hogwarts Snake
Chapter 295 Introduction to Confession
On the first day of formal interaction with Hina, Maggie behaved like a true gentleman. He carefully observed the girl's reactions, used his rich experience and knowledge to humorously ease the atmosphere, and without any physical contact. An hour later, he asked Leah to send her to her sisters.
It's a pity that Leah couldn't fulfill her promise to Beretta. Maggie suddenly invited her to go to Hogwarts, the magic school that Della mentioned. She had always been interested in that school and now she accepted Della's solicitation. Piazza also ordered her to try her best to meet Mr. Riddle's needs. It was reasonable for her to go.
So she only had time to give Beretta a doll, lift her up a little, and then hurried back to continue acting as Maggie's driver and drove to King's Cross Station.
"Leah, what kind of family were you born into?" Maggie asked as she sat in the back seat with her legs crossed, looking out the window at the shops and people moving away. "Your personality and the life choices you make are rare. What kind of parents raised a child like you?"
Speaking of family, Leah's hands on the steering wheel tightened for a moment. She glanced at the rearview mirror to see the car behind her, then looked at the front mirror. She briefly glanced at Maggie who was still looking out the window. "They didn't educate me. They only gave me a life to fight in the gutter."
"Really? Are your parents still alive?" Maggie turned her head, her dark eyes fixed on Leah's brown hair that was shaking slightly due to the vibration of the car while driving.
"He's gone. If he were still alive, there would probably only be a father left." Leah recalled the night when the screams came and went. The expensive leather seat she leaned against seemed to have suddenly grown thorns, stabbing her with the pain that spread throughout her body that night. Leah stretched her shoulders uncomfortably, using the movement of her muscles to drive away the phantom pain. "But with the means I have now, I will throw him into the sea to feed the fish."
"You still hate me even after you die?" Maggie asked.
"I don't hate him, I just think he deserves to die." Leah said, her brown eyes looking straight ahead, as if she was concentrating on driving, and she changed the subject, "We'll be at the station soon, sir."
"I admire you, Leah. You know how to seize opportunities and are very willing to take risks." The composition is simple, so I don't have to think too much when using her. Maggie added silently in her heart, "This time I went to the magical world to show my face. Maybe in the future, others will beg to meet you."
Leah's simple structure and the wealth she had accumulated in the Muggle world made it difficult for Maggie to give her benefits to make her work hard. However, trust and the future are always tangible, and at the current stage when they have not recruited too many wizards from Country Y, they need a pair of useful working gloves.
"I know my role is still a bodyguard, sir, but I'm going there as..." Leah opened her lips slightly and blew a breath into her mouth, looking troubled. "What identity? Is it the one Della mentioned - Mag?"
"Oh! You didn't have the channel to read the Daily Prophet before, which is the report in the wizard newspaper. We helped you create an identity in front of wizards at that time." Maggie took out the gold pendant she made in the morning and opened and closed it to play with it. She clenched her hands at the crisp opening and closing sound, and stopped the sound. "A wizard with low magical power who chooses to live in the Muggle world. The name is still yours, but the last name is a very ordinary one, Smith."
The magic level is not high, a euphemism for a squib.
"Leah Smith?" Leah smacked her lips and repeated her fake name.
"Your old files have also been put into the archives of the Ministry of Magic. Once those wizards find out your magical identity, they won't be able to find the Muggle world anymore," Maggie said slowly, opening her empty hands. "Do a good job, Leah. Della and I are both very generous. After all, we have already got a lot of things."
"Don't worry, Mr. Riddle, I'm still at the age of striving." Ambition climbed onto Leah's heroic face, and the corners of her lips curled up unruly, adding a bit of evil.
Maggie smiled with satisfaction, and her deep eyes looked at the surging flow of people near the station again. This time he asked Leah to follow him in order to give her some grass to run around, but more importantly, he wanted to confess his encounter with Xina in front of Della. The unusual appearance of a Muggle in the magic school would be the trigger for his confession.
Before meeting Sina, Maggie did the same thing as Della and used Legilimency to telepathically control Maxine. He saw Della pointing at Sina's photo from Maxine's memory. Combined with Sina's strange lottery ticket, he immediately knew that Della had shown mercy on him.
Some trust can be easily given and taken back, but there is always that small part of trust that cannot be concealed or betrayed.
When the sun set, Maggie hurried with Leah to the Durmstrang ship docked at Hogwarts. At that time, his dance partner Lytia Abate was matching clothes for a group of girls. Della and Sadolin were of course there, as well as Maria and Annika who came in as newspaper interns. Almost as soon as he came in, Maria looked at him with the silver mask in her eyes.
Lydia wore a simple black backless fishtail dress that fully showed off her beautiful curves. She exposed her fair back, which no longer had the Dark Mark, and showed her freedom to the outside world.
"You're here so late? I still need to spend time to match your clothes. You know not all clothes can match your mask?" Lydia turned her bright face and the black rose on her temples to Maggie. She said unhappily, "If my dance partner in school had made me wait like this, I would have changed him long ago."
"Sorry, we were delayed on the way." Maggie said, ignoring everyone else and looking at Della who was sitting next to her and had already put on her dress. She was wearing a black puffy skirt, but it was different from the usual cute and lively puffy skirts. Lifelike roses were crawling along the hem and body of her skirt. The collision of red and black, nobility and coldness coexisted, making her look like an aristocrat walking out of an ancient castle.
"Wow!" Leah exclaimed. She didn't have the scruples of others and walked frankly to Della, "You look so beautiful in this outfit, Della!"
"After all, I'm going to dance the opening dance today. Thank you for the compliment, Leah," Della first thanked Leah with a smile, and then asked her question, "Why are you here?" She looked at Maggie as she spoke.
Maggie, who had almost finished apologizing to her dance partner and explaining why she was late, noticed Della's gaze. She said a few words to comfort Lytia, promised to be back soon to let her dress up, and then quickly walked towards Della.
"I asked Leah to come," Maggie explained. He half-knelt in front of Della, and the eye that was level with her turned into the true blue color after manifestation. "Also, I have something to tell you. Give me some time and space, Della."
"..." Della pondered the meaning of Maggie's heterochromatic eyes that showed the changes in her soul in front of her. It was unnecessary, but Leah's appearance gave her direction to think. There was almost nothing in the Muggle world that was worthy of Maggie talking to her like this, except for the woman who looked very similar to Ximena.
Maggie met her anyway.
Maggie's purpose of taking Leah with him was achieved in just a few breaths. Della guessed what was going on before he actually opened his mouth. As long as you are mentally prepared, things will be much easier to accept.
"Okay." Della frowned after thinking it through. After instructing Annika to take care of Leah, she agreed to Maggie's request. Under the gaze of others, the two walked out of the makeshift cloakroom and went to Della's bedroom, which was absolutely private on the ship.
