Chapter 169: Bellinda's Aftermath
"Be, Belle..." Langheim looked at Belinda obsessively and couldn't help but say the intimate name. The blush on his face deepened, but this time it turned from shame to excitement. "I think, I want to express my love to you."
"I never refuse letters. I think you've already said that." Bellinda looked bored and didn't even look at Langheim. "And I should have made it clear that I'm still a student. In most cases, I don't date people who are already working."
"Oh——" A sigh of regret was heard in the lounge, and Della's eyelids twitched. Perhaps she should re-recognize Belinda's influence.
"But you, but you were held back a grade, Belle," Langheim spoke incoherently, his hands randomly scratching his chest, "I, I have only graduated for three years, and I am already a Zhongji researcher. I have many patents and a lot of subsidies every month. I, I will treat you very well, Belle."
"Be good to me?" Bellinda finally looked at Langheim and repeated the suitor's words in a rhythmic manner. When Langheim raised the corners of his lips hopefully, her tone suddenly sank, "Why should I believe in the love of someone who doesn't even dare to give me a love letter in person?"
"I, I, I love you, Belle, there is no doubt about that..."
"Love me?" Belinda swayed her waist and took two steps towards the table where Della was sitting. "You love me, but you are unwilling to lower yourself to me; you love me, but you think you deserve my response; you love me, but you show off your insignificant wealth."
She gently placed the lunch basket in front of Della, her eyes fixed on Langheim, whose face was slowly turning pale. "You love me, but you still want to emphasize that I was held back a grade? What do you want to do? Are you going to use your wisdom, wealth, and status to erode my will?"
"No, no, that's not it!" Langheim shouted, his bangs in front of his forehead scattered in a hurry, revealing a pair of red eyes.
"Not really? Well then," Belinda's voice softened again, "You said you've graduated for three years, so tell me, when you were in seventh grade, which was when I was in fifth grade, did you ever send me a love letter?"
"Yes! I do! Belle, I've always loved you!"
"Let me think about it. Being promoted to a mid-level researcher three years after graduation, that's pretty impressive, right?" Belinda's gaze fell on Zhou Yushi, who was looking at her intently. After hearing the other person nod without hesitation, she turned her gaze back and said, "You must have been smart and rich when you were in school, and maybe a famous person."
"But I didn't fancy your love then. Now you have only a little more insignificant wealth and status that I don't care about. Do you think I will accept your shallow and arrogant love?" Belinda tilted her neck slightly, frowned and looked impatiently at Langheim, who was shaking with the blow.
"Besides, you are causing trouble for others like this. Are you trying to force others to help you express your love?"
"No...it shouldn't be like this..." The young man, who had been dreaming of love for several years, could no longer bear the blow of having his dream shattered, and ran out, covering his face.
Belinda didn't even glance at the embarrassed figure, and smoothly returned to her usual elegant and playful appearance. She looked at Della and said, "Olga gave me some snacks that were hard to order today. I thought you would like to use some in the afternoon."
All eyes in the room fell on Della. It was hard for her to define all these eyes as harmless, but she still smiled naturally, "You are so thoughtful, Belinda."
"Yes, my ever-misty golden hourglass, you are so thoughtful!" Livia held her face and looked at Belinda with sparkling eyes.
"You like her a little bit, right, Belle?" Zhou Yushi said, with a strange smile on his tough face.
"What's wrong, Zhou? I don't think you're going to say anything good with that expression." Belinda pouted slightly.
"I know you only have the patience to read novels. You always like to look at pictures when reading newspapers, and you are never careful when reading reports. So you probably didn't pay attention to the age of Miss Riddle." Zhou Yushi continued, and Della, who was at the center of the topic, looked at him puzzledly.
"Age? What's there to be concerned about? Look at her height and her perfect manners. She must be 15 years old."
Zhou Yushi stopped talking. He looked at Della encouragingly. Della felt that age was not something that needed to be concealed, so she responded calmly, "In fact, I'm only 13 years old."
“13 years old!” Belinda’s amber eyes widened. She took two steps back, and her half-high heels made a clattering sound on the ground. “It’s unbelievable!”
She took a moment to calm down before walking towards Della sadly, "Enjoy your snack, Della. We'll be good roommates."
"I always thought we would be good roommates." Della responded with a wink and a smile.
"Well, see you tonight, 13-year-old little sister." Belinda said goodbye and left in a daze.
Looking at Belinda's back, Zhou Yushi smiled silently. He explained to Della who was looking at him, "Belinda doesn't date people who are not on the same level mentally. This is not arrogance. She also doesn't date people who are much older than her. This is her principle. When she was 13, she could date a 13-year-old child, but she would never date a 18-year-old child when she was 13."
“Is that so…” Della pondered, thinking about the unusually beautiful scene of Bellinda confronting people just now, and unconsciously changed the labels she had given Bellinda in her heart from yesterday from narcissistic and selfish to self-respecting and principled. Then, she suddenly realized that this senior Zhou seemed to be too familiar with Bellinda, so she looked at him again.
"I'm her ex, we were in campus romance at that time," Zhou Yushi shrugged.
"Me too!" Livia immediately raised her hand.
Zhou Yushi didn't show any surprise at all, but just explained to Della, "She calls me 'Zhou' just because 'Zhou' is easier to pronounce than 'Yushi'."
Della opened her eyes widely for a rare moment. Her always calm black eyes trembled, and she once again began to think about what kind of person Belinda was.
