HP: Hogwarts Snake
Chapter 103 Temporary Plan
By the time Draco got Della to the entrance of the girls' dormitory, it was long past curfew.
"Honestly, it doesn't matter even if you say you are a Malfoy now." Draco said again before they parted. He didn't mean to tease Della, he was just worried.
"It's too early, Draco," Della said lightly, then held Draco's hand, "Don't worry, I'm a Slytherin."
"You should be more careful, Della." Draco reluctantly said goodbye to the girl. He felt his throat getting sore again, so he turned his head quickly, "See you tomorrow, I'll wait for you."
"Well, see you tomorrow." Della said, looked back at Draco, then turned and walked into the dormitory entrance.
As soon as I entered the dormitory, I saw Maggie, who had grown bigger on the bed, raising his green snake body. Della greeted him, "Hessia-ya (When did you come back from the Forbidden Forest)?"
"Siha-la-shi (I saw that line of words when I came back after the heir's graffiti appeared)." Maggie shook the snake's head.
"You speak so perfectly that I don't even know how to continue the conversation." Della smiled.
"Haisa-hi (You're going to keep asking anyway, aren't you)?"
"You're right, it's just a little embarrassing for me." Della said as she took off the cloak Draco gave her and hung it on the hanger. "Where should we start? Any suggestions, Maggie?"
"Hai-Laxia (Let the person being questioned start the topic. You know how to take advantage of my ability to answer all questions)." Maggie swam down from the bed, "Siha-Hai (Then I'll seize the opportunity and declare that I didn't do this and it has nothing to do with me)."
"I know. I can't think of any reason why you would do this." Della followed Maggie's lead and pulled out a chair in front of the desk to sit down. "Then do you know about the Chamber of Secrets and the Heir?"
"Ha-ha (I have absolutely no idea)."
"Well, okay." Della responded, not intending to care whether it was true or not. "I learned this from Draco."
"The founder of Slytherin, Salazar Slytherin, a Parseltongue who believed that only pure-blood wizards were qualified to come and study, left behind a chamber of secrets before leaving Hogwarts. According to legend, only his heir can open the chamber of secrets, release the fear in the chamber, and purge the school of those who he believes are unworthy of receiving magical education."
"This is very interesting. I am sure that alchemy has created some blood connection between me and Voldemort. So according to him, I should be the heir."
"Haisa-Assi (It seems there are other people)." After Maggie climbed up on the desk, he returned to his normal size, his yellow eyes flashing.
"Yes, that's why I want to talk to you. Just treat it as a drill. Dumbledore, or Snape, will definitely come to me next."
"Hissa-Haisi-ya (Exercise? It's not something you do, what are you going to exercise)?" Maggie tilted her snake head.
"That cat should not be dead. It looks like it was hit by the petrification spell I learned before," Della propped up her face and touched the blue-gray pattern on Maggie's body. "It didn't kill anything at the beginning. This is a signal, Maggie."
"I think the heir only wants to create fear. So I am hesitant, hesitant about when to get involved in this matter."
"Sass-Ashi (It's just a cat that's not dead, and you make such a judgment? I thought you would be more emotional today)." Maggie looked a little surprised.
"It's not that hard to guess, Maggie." Della smiled and rubbed Maggie's slippery snake body. "Slytherin, Parseltongue, Heir, Petrification, the one in the Chamber of Secrets is a basilisk. It's much more troublesome to let people see the basilisk through reflective objects than to let the basilisk stare directly."
"Sahisa-sa (Oh? I didn't know you were so tolerant of the concept of harm. Is it enough to not die? The next ones to be petrified will be the students)." Maggie stretched along with Della's movements.
"I roughly know who will be petrified. If it's just petrification, I can accept it." Della curled her lips, with a bit of indifference in her black eyes, "After all, I'm just a student."
"I know I will get involved eventually, but it's too early now. I need to wait and see for a while. Besides, I can't be so proactive in front of Dumbledore," Della added.
After all, he was worried that his identity as the so-called heir of Slytherin might be exposed in the process.
The previous negotiation was so serious that Maggie almost forgot Della's principle of self-preservation.
No wonder Della was so tolerant tonight, she had never wanted to get involved in this matter from the beginning.
If this matter had nothing to do with Slytherin, her attitude would probably be different...
Maggie guessed what Della was thinking. After a brief silence, he started the next topic, "Sa-Shai (the hourglass in the Shrieking Shack has already reacted)."
As he spoke, Maggie's slender tail hooked towards the bookshelf, and a small stack of parchment was brought out by him, "(along with the experimental reports of the other five phases, they are all here)."
"Well, let me take a look." Della picked up the parchment and looked at the experimental data. "Do you have any recommendations for the base material?"
"Sahi-Sahi (I see you have smelted a lot of ores before, so you don't plan to use the soft platinum you had before)." Maggie's raised snake body paused for a moment, looking like she was thinking.
"Actually, I don't really want to abandon it. You know, for what we do, imperfection is the right thing to do." Della turned over a page of parchment in her hand.
"Heishisa-hi (I'd rather you use perfect, Della, just for my sake)." Maggie moved closer to Della, with a hint of seriousness in her yellow eyes.
"How cunning, Maggie." Della lowered her hands, and the parchment also fell down. She looked at the little snake with a smile, "You let me work so hard for you."
"Xi-Haisa-ya (What? It seems you have something for me to do)?" Maggie slowly raised her pupils.
"It's time to keep you busy," Della laughed. "It is foreseeable that there will be many attacks in Hogwarts, and the rules will be stricter accordingly."
"Because the Red Spirit Ore requires pure moonlight and sunlight, I can't do experiments in the suitcase stone room. I have to find a place that is both quiet and has natural light. You know, the Screaming Shack is very suitable."
"Sahai-Siya (It seems that you have made up your mind to be a safe and stable second-year student this time)." Maggie raised her snake head slightly as if she understood.
"Yes, I can't take the risk of going there often." Della opened the drawer, took out a small black beetle and put it on the table. "I have prepared something for you to transport the materials. Every time you put it in there and bite it, you will have everything."
"Haishi-sa (You planned it a long time ago? Oh, this is really-)." Maggie sounded a little helpless.
"Believe me, if it's just for efficiency, I would never plan it this way," Della sighed softly, and the smile on her face faded. "I will give you a booklet every few days to tell you what you want to experiment with, and then you can bring me the results of the experiment."
"Sah-hi (This sounds really troublesome)." Maggie dropped her whole body onto the table.
"That's true. We may have to go back and forth several times to debug in a small place, but——"
Della drawled, her smile returning, "I'm glad to fill your time, Maggie."
Oh, it would be strange if she could be so tolerant of this uncertainty of hers.
Whether it was before or now, she remembers it well.
Maggie simply closed her eyes, scrambling to enjoy the peace that she might not have for a long time.
