Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 363 Parting ways

In order to take care of John's waist injury, Lin Yan and the other two deliberately slowed down on their way back. It was not until after three o'clock in the afternoon that they returned to the beaver cave.

Micah, Bill, Javier, and Dutch, who had returned earlier than them, were all in the camp, but apart from them, no one else was there, including Aunt Susan and John's family, who had hardly left the camp. Not only were the people gone, but the horses and carriages were also missing.

Seeing Arthur and Lin Yan return safely with John, Dutch did not show any joy on his face, but a little fear. Bill and Javier were overjoyed. Seeing them come back, they stood up directly from where they were sitting and discussing something.

"Ha! So you are not dead! I felt sorry for you when I heard Dutch say you didn't escape!" Bill was still so outspoken.

"How did you escape?" Compared to Bill, Javier's greeting was much more tactful.

Arthur did not dismount, nor did he respond to the two's greetings. He glanced at the deserted but messy camp and looked in Dutch's direction. "What happened here? Where did everyone else go?"

Micah, who had put on his big white valley hat again, shrugged and said with a toothpick in his mouth, "We just got back a short time ago, but don't worry, Sadie has already gone to look for her."

John licked his cracked lips and loudly questioned these indifferent people: "You men are so bold as to let a lady go out alone. Don't you have any concerns in your hearts? Or do you no longer care about the lives of others?"

John's words were filled with deep personal emotions, and when he saw Dutch again, he felt a lot of resentment in his heart.

"What's there to panic about?" Dutch calmly drank a sip of beer while facing John's complicated gaze. "It's a good thing that there's no body. Panic without reason will only make you lose your composure."

"This..." Arthur stopped John from arguing and said calmly, "Forget it. What's the point of arguing about who is right and who is wrong at this time? If they don't come to us, then we will."

"Tell us which way Sadie went?" After stopping John, Arthur asked the four people present.

"Over there." Bill pointed in a direction.

Just as Arthur was about to take John Linyan to search for Sadie and the missing camp members in the direction Bill pointed, Sadie ran back to the camp with Tilly and Little Jack, who looked terrified.

Seeing that Sadie really found the other members of the camp, Dutch finally couldn't sit still anymore.

"Detective Pinkerton came, Detective Milton and his men, they took Abigail, I saved Jack, and everyone else got away, only Abigail, they only took Abigail, and they said they were going to take her to Van Horn, take her on the boat and charge her with murder..."

As soon as she saw Dutch, Tilly told him everything that had happened after they left.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Dutch said regretfully, "but this is probably a trap. We can't afford to lose sight of the big picture..."

"Yeah, this trap couldn't be more obvious." Micah chimed in, "If we go to rescue her now, we'll be playing into that person's hands. We can't fall into their trap. She's just a woman. Even if we don't go, they won't do anything to her. This place has been exposed. We have to move on to the next place, Dutch. You know it, and everyone here knows it. When the others come back, it's time for us to move again."

Dutch and Micah's concerted actions completely infuriated John. This was the second time today that he and his family had been abandoned by Dutch. Especially this time, no matter how high-sounding and reasonable his words seemed on the surface, what was the reality?

Excuses! All excuses!

John finally understood that in Dutch's eyes, their family was expendable.

No! It's not just their family! Others are the same in this man's eyes!

After seeing Dutch's true face, Arthur sneered at the man he once regarded as his father: "First John, then Abigail, do you really want little Jack to become an orphan so early?"

Dutch threw his hands up, "Of course not, I have my own plans."

"Oh? What's your plan?" Arthur was amused by Dutch's words.

"We don't want to die yet, cowboy." Micah came to Dutch's rescue. "It's obviously not worth sacrificing half of the gang just for a woman."

"Not worth it?" John was furious when he heard this. "This is not worth it, that is not worth it. So many of us risked our lives for you. In your opinion, what is worth it?"

Dutch looked at the angry John indifferently, "Micah is right, John. She is just a woman, and it is really not worth dying for her. You are rich now, you can find someone better than Abigail. It was okay to find a prostitute to play with when you were a bandit, but now you are rich, you can find any woman with money. It is shameful to keep a woman like Abigail who can be fucked by anyone around."

John's chest was heaving violently. Dutch's words had irritated him greatly. Lin Yan held John's arm. He was worried that John would lose control and pull out a gun to fight with Dutch the next moment.

Dutch is crazy, how dare you say such a thing...

Arthur seemed to understand what Dutch meant by saying this. He stepped forward to hold back John who was about to go berserk at any moment, looked him in the eye and said, "Calm down! He is trying to provoke you! The only outcome of you rushing forward now will be to cause a war between the two of us, which will not help in rescuing Abigail at all! Think carefully about what you should do now!"

"The most important thing to do now..." John's eyes were confused for a moment, and then he suddenly woke up. "Save him! Abigail is still waiting for us to save him!"

"That's right." Sadie glanced at Dutch and others in the distance, turned her head, and said, "Let's go. There are enough of us."

After steadying John, Arthur stepped towards Dutch.

Arthur pointed to the sack of money beside Dutch and said as a matter of course: "Among these money, one should belong to Tilly and John's family."

Dutch thought for a moment, nodded and said nothing.

Arthur lifted a bag and put it on his shoulder. Without turning his head, he said, "I'll take the money for them. They will go their separate ways from the Van der Linde Gang in the future. No one owes anyone anything."

Micah obviously wanted to say something, but this time Dutch stopped him, and Arthur just swaggered over to Tilly with the sack on his shoulder.

"Take this." Arthur solemnly put the sack on the horse's back and told Tilly, "Take Jack to the Copperhead Territory to wait for John. He and Abigail will be here soon."
