Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 357 The Final Robbery

A low chanting sound came from Luo Yu's mouth. Hearing this sound, Charles led the others out of the chief's tent. Walking out of the crowd outside the tent, Arthur sniffed and looked at Charles. "The death of Flying Eagle is just the beginning. Their battle with the army is doomed."

"That's right." Charles nodded, "So they must evacuate from here immediately and leave tonight. I have to stay and help them, so I won't go back with you."

Although Charles did not explicitly state that he wanted to quit the gang, he said on the way back that he did not want Dutch's money anymore, which was actually a disguised way of saying that he had severed ties with Dutch and the Van der Linde gang.

"Or I'll stay too." After what happened, Arthur really didn't want to go back and face Dutch again.

"No, brother." Charles refused Arthur. "John's family, Hosea, and Tilly, these people still need your help. They are all good people. You can't leave them with Dutch."

Charles said the second half of the sentence while looking at everyone present, including Lin Yan and Sadie.

"We'll arrange for them to leave when we get back." Lin Yan replied. Now that Daqi has revealed his dark side, it's time to let these people know his true colors.

"Be careful." Charles said to Lin Yan solemnly.

"Don't worry, we know our limits and won't do anything explicit. Take care of yourself, brother!" Arthur patted Charles' shoulder reluctantly, and Charles responded with a manly hug.

"Goodbye, Charles." The atmosphere was so intense that Lin Yan walked over and hugged Charles with great emotion. Among all the gang members, Charles, who worked hard, was reliable, and had a positive outlook, was the person Lin Yan admired the most besides Arthur and Sadie.

"Goodbye, friend." Charles patted Lin Yan on the back and said his final goodbye to him.

"I will remember you." Sadie also hugged Charles symbolically.

Charles nodded, his eyes swept across the faces of Lin Yan and others in turn, then he turned resolutely and walked towards his real compatriots.

"Everyone, there is something urgent. We must pack up and leave. We have to leave tonight. Everyone, act as soon as possible..."

Watching Charles blending into the crowd on the other side naturally, Arthur smiled knowingly: "Let's go back too, there are still many things waiting for us."

After saying goodbye to Charles, Lin Yan opened the task list on the way back. The departure of Leopold and Charles brought the final task to the third stage. As long as three more people left, he would be able to see what the next stage of the task reward was.

Lin Yan could think of more than three people who wanted to leave among those who had not left yet. John's family, Arthur, Tilly, and Josiah, who said he was going home to visit a few days ago but has not returned yet. Lin Yan suspected that this cunning guy ran away when he saw that the gang was not doing well, but he didn't know why the system had not counted his departure into the progress.

There is an East Grizzli Mountain area between the Wapiti Reservation and the Beaver Caves. It was already dark when Lin Yan and the other two came out of the reservation, but they did not look for a place to rest. Instead, they rushed back to the Beaver Caves overnight.

After returning to the camp, the three did not act rashly. Even if Dutch wanted to plot against Arthur, it was impossible for him to attack him in the camp in public. What they needed to do most now was to get a good night's sleep and recuperate so that they would have the energy to do other things.

In the morning, Lin Yan was still awakened by the rich aroma of coffee. Since Pearson left, Hosea has perfectly taken over his job. The old man no longer reads newspapers. Every day, in addition to working on the one-third acre of land near the dining car, he drives to Annesburg to purchase goods. He is very busy every day.

But from Lin Yan's point of view, he was just busy doing nothing. Apart from the stew on the first day, the only thing acceptable was this pot of coffee that did not require cooking.

He got up and looked at the time. It was only seven o'clock in the morning. Lin Yan had only slept for five hours.

Although the rest time was not long, Lin Yan was full of energy after getting up. Since he invested a lot of attribute points in the energy attribute, no matter how sleepy or tired he was, as long as he slept for two or three hours, he could recover to his best condition.

After getting up, Lin Yan put on his clothes, walked to the campfire, and poured himself a cup of coffee.

Micah and the other two, who did not move with the group yesterday, also got up early today. They sat around the only table in the camp and started drinking beer early in the morning.

Dutch and Arthur also got up at this time. The former was sitting in front of his tent, fiddling with his revolver, while the latter was standing under a tree outside the camp and whispering something with Hosea. Hosea's face was a little solemn, probably because he had learned about what happened to Arthur yesterday.

Lin Yan wanted to go over and listen to what they were talking about, but was stopped by Dutch.

"Is there anything wrong?" Lin Yan walked over and asked.

"Why didn't Charles come back with you?" Dutch asked Lin Yan while wiping the gun in his hand.

Lin Yan blew on his coffee, took a sip and said, "Charles wants to take those Indians to move, and he said he won't be back yet."

"How is Feiying? I remember he seemed injured when I left yesterday?"

Lin Yan clenched his fists and said in the same tone: "Flying Eagle...is dead."

"Really?" Dutch pretended to be surprised, smacked his lips, shook his head, and then said lightly: "What a pity."

"It's indeed a pity." Lin Yan took a deep breath, resisted the urge to question the other party, and just looked at him coldly.

Dutch, who was cleaning his gun with his head down, seemed to sense something. He stopped what he was doing, stood up and pulled Lin Yan into the tent.

"As you can see, kid." Dutch's tone was gentle, even pleading. "The gang is going through a tough time right now, but Arthur still went against me. I did that yesterday just to scare him, not to hurt him. Eagle's death was just an accident..."

Lin Yan didn't think Daqi's explanations were convincing at all. He couldn't listen any more and asked, "When are we going to act?"

"What?" Dutch didn't react for a moment.

"When do you think the military train will arrive here?" Lin Yan explained.

"Oh..." Dutch understood now.

"Today," he replied briefly.

"You said you'd stop after this job, didn't you?"

"That's right, I said it." Dutch admitted straightforwardly. "As long as you can earn enough money for retirement, who would want to do such a bloody business?"

"Okay, then I'll help you again!"
