Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 307 The execution ground

"You are all professionals, don't mess up the plan right at the start." Sadie said dissatisfiedly.

"Don't worry, we will complete the mission." Dutch and Arthur answered in unison.

The group chatted as they walked towards their destination. After merging into the main road from the alley, the street that was deserted and quiet when they came here gradually became lively. It was around eight o'clock in the morning, when the workers in Saint Denis were going to work, but Lin Yan found that most of the people walking on this street were walking in the same direction as the four of them, and these people had more or less excitement and joy on their faces, whispering with their relatives and friends, or talking with their friends, and the content of their conversations was all related to the public hanging that would be carried out later.

It seems that public hanging is considered a "grand event" in Saint Denis. There are so many curious people, and I wonder how many of them have taken time off specifically to watch this scene.

"Hey, look at that." Dutch raised his chin slightly and gestured to the pedestrians passing by. "People really like hanging."

"Of course." Lin Yan looked at these people with some feeling, "Who wouldn't want to build their own happiness on the suffering of others, especially when the latter deserves this suffering. Only in this case, these people will not worry about feeling guilty when enjoying this scene."

"Ha!" Arthur suddenly laughed out loud. "I wonder what Colm's expression would be like when he finds out that he has become a 'funny' in the eyes of these people."

Arriving outside the Guito Square where the gallows was located, Lin Yan discovered through the low wall that although the gallows at the innermost part of the square was still empty, a large number of people had gathered in front of the gallows to watch the execution.

When they were about to reach the entrance of Gito Square, Dachi, who was walking in front and observing the crowd inside the square, stopped and said to the people behind him: "Wait a minute, we will go in later."

"What?" asked Arthur.

Dutch first looked inside sideways, then lowered his head and said in a low voice: "Did you see the three bastards in black windbreakers standing at the back of the crowd? Those two guys are Colm's men. I saw them when I negotiated with Colm last time."

Arthur's expression was subtle. "So..."

"This is really a surprise, luckily we are here..." Dutch was halfway through his words when he suddenly saw the three people turning around and pointing behind them, saying something.

"What are they pointing at?" He said as he looked in the direction the two men were pointing. There was nothing noteworthy about the crowd entering the venue. His professional sense told him that these people were all civilians. If they were not human, then the only thing that concerned him was the two-story residential building across the street.

"I don't know..." Arthur said and looked across following Dutch's gaze.

Just as the two of them set their eyes on the residential building in front of them, Lin Yan caught a glimpse of one of the three people starting to walk towards the gate.

Seeing this, he immediately reminded everyone: "Don't look back, someone is coming."

Upon hearing this, Dutch pretended to casually turn his body to the side, with his back to the door. Although he was wearing a disguise, the other party might not recognize him, but between the possibility of a mistake and being absolutely sure, he still chose the latter.

Arthur's reaction was exactly the same as Dutch's, but his movements were smaller than Dutch's. He just turned slightly sideways and raised his hand to block his face for a moment.

There was nothing for Lin Yan and Sadie to avoid. There was no way the other party knew them. Even if they were blocking the door, the other party would at most just glance at them and then choose to go around.

When the other person came out, he didn't even look at them. He crossed the road straight away, then turned along the opposite sidewalk and entered another street.

Judging from the other party's posture, it is almost certain that the O'Driscoll Gang will rescue Colm from the gallows today. In order to find out the other party's actions, Dutch only said to Lin Yan and Sadie, "You two stay here", and then quickly followed with Arthur.

Looking at the three people going away, Sadie's lips curled up slightly: "It seems that there are more people from the O'Driscoll Gang who can be killed today. I have been lost for a long time since they disappeared."

Lin Yan covered his face: "It seems that Saint Denis is going to set off another bloody storm today..."

After standing there for a while, Lin Yan heard a commotion coming from the crowd in the square. He looked in the direction of the sound and found that the protagonist of today's "event" had arrived.

Lin Yan had only seen Colm O'Driscoll once from a distance at the Lone Mule Farm. It was too dark that night, so he only saw a rough outline of him and didn't see his specific appearance. When he saw him today, he found that Colm looked much younger than his actual age. This was because he had been locked up for a few days, with a scruffy beard and a bit sloppy. If he was well groomed, he would look about the same age as Javier.

Although he looked a little sloppy, Colm was in good spirits and looked very relaxed, without any of the fear and tension that a death row inmate would have before execution.

Yes, from the moment Colm stood on the execution platform and saw his men in the crowd below, he knew that these people would definitely rescue him later. Now he was just cooperating with the performance of these policemen.

Before the execution, a lawyer-like man wearing glasses and a tuxedo walked to the center of the gallows and read to the crowd below: "Dear citizens of Saint Denis: For a long time, each of us has remembered that it is justice that keeps us away from cruel atrocities. Although justice itself is cruel, if a person is very cruel and brutal, then we can only fight violence with violence..."

Lin Yan and Sadie stood at the entrance of the square, watching the surrounding movements while listening to the lawyer's speech. Just now, the O'Driscoll gang member who walked out of the square had returned to the square, but Dutch and Arthur who followed him were nowhere to be seen.

"Why haven't Dutch and Arthur come back yet?" Sadie said anxiously after the O'Driscoll gang member came back, "If they don't come, we'll have to rely on the two of us to stop these people in the square."

"No hurry, wait a little longer." Lin Yan glanced at the several pages of manuscript in the hands of the lawyer on the gallows and comforted him, "It won't be too late for us to go over after he finishes reading the manuscript."

On the gallows, the lawyer's speech continued: "...Colm O'Driscoll is such a villain. He has committed murder, looting, burning, robbing and all kinds of evil across five states in the past ten years, but he has not been punished. However, his evil deeds have ended here..."
