Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 250 Temporary Evacuation

Sophia was a little surprised when she first saw Lin Yan's clothes, and she didn't understand why the Pinkerton detective wanted to find her. As she raised her eyes, a familiar face came into her sight.

She stood up and looked at Lin Yan, who was wearing a black Pinkerton suit, with a look of deep doubt in her eyes: "Mr. Jamie? What are you doing..."

The last time I saw this "lifesaver", he was still a gang member. How come he became a Pinkerton detective after just a few days of not seeing him?

Lin Yan moved to the side, revealing Charles behind him.

Charles had also participated in Andres' rescue mission before. Sophia recognized him immediately after seeing his face which was more memorable than Lin Yan's.

"Ah, this gentleman is also..." Sophia pointed at Charles and continued in her broken English.

"Ma'am, this is not the place to talk. Can we go to a more secluded place to talk?"

"A secluded place..." "A private place..."

Lin Yan was afraid that she didn't understand, so he repeated it again and tried to gesture with his hands. Finally, he pointed to the back kitchen of the restaurant and said, "Let's talk inside."

Now Sophia understood, "Ah~ inside." She nodded and took Lin Yan and Charles directly to the back kitchen.

"Is this the place you were talking about?" Charles asked in a low voice behind Lin Yan.

"Apart from Josiah, the Andres couple are the only people I know who live in Saint Denis and may be able to help us." Lin Yan also turned around and replied in a low voice.

"This place is good, but I don't know if there is room for the two of us to stay."

"Let's give it a try. We have nowhere else to go anyway."

The two of them whispered as they followed Sofia to the back of the restaurant.

Behind the restaurant is a small courtyard, the overall structure of which is similar to a miniature courtyard, and the restaurant's kitchen is located on the west side of the courtyard.

"Andres!%@*%..." Sofia shouted something in German towards the kitchen, but Lin Yan could only recognize Andres' name. After she finished shouting, Sofia pointed to the wooden chairs under the eaves and invited Lin Yan and the others to sit down: "Please sit down, Andres will be here soon."

Lin Yan looked at the layout here curiously, and for a moment he was a little envious.

I didn’t expect this family could find such a nice place. I wonder if they bought it or rented it. If they bought it, it would be such a good deal.

In the main house facing the back door of the restaurant, Sofia's two children heard the sound and leaned their heads out of the half-open window, looking curiously at the two "uncles" whom they had met once.

Not long after Sophia finished shouting, Andres, wearing a chef's hat, strode out of the room on Lin Yan's left.

"Mr. Custer!" Seeing Lin Yan, Andres greeted him with a smile, then he moved his eyes to the right and saw Charles standing next to Lin Yan. Andres said apologetically: "I'm very sorry, I don't know your name yet, but I remember you. You, Mr. Morgan, and Mr. Custer saved me, but I was too scared at the time, so I forgot to ask your name."

Charles nodded symbolically: "Just call me Charles."

"We'll talk about the past later." Thinking of the business that hadn't been discussed yet, Lin Yan continued after Charles finished speaking: "We are not here to have a meal today, but to ask your family for a favor?"

"What help?" Andres saw the serious expression on Lin Yan's face and became nervous.

Lin Yan pointed at the Pinkerton uniforms on him and Charles and said, "We got into some trouble in St. Denis. I hope you can provide us with a place to stay for two days. If possible, it would be best to get us out of the city."

"Trouble?" When Andres heard the word, he immediately connected it with the incident that was widely circulated last night. He stared at Lin Yan and Charles with wide eyes: "Could it be you who robbed the Lemoyne National Bank yesterday..."

Lin Yan smiled awkwardly, neither admitting nor denying.

Andres then gave a bitter smile and said something to Sofia in German. Sofia turned around and tried to leave, but Charles noticed and quickly moved sideways, stretched out his hand and stopped her.

"Oh, I just asked Sofia to close the store. We are closed today." Andres realized that the other party had misunderstood him and immediately explained.

"Let her go, Charles." Lin Yan also took the initiative to speak up for Sofia. The basis of cooperation is trust. Since he chose to ask the Andres couple for help, he must give them full trust.

"Sorry." Charles knew that it was impolite to do so, so he stepped aside and apologized to Sophia.

Sophia smiled and shook her head to show that she didn't care.

"Come, let's sit down and talk." After Sophia left, Andres invited Lin Yan and Charles to sit down again.

After sitting down, Andres looked at the two people in Pinkerton uniforms and asked puzzledly: "What's the matter with your clothes? If Sofia hadn't told me in advance that you were here, just looking at your clothes, I would have thought that the Pinkerton detectives came to question us again."

Lin Yan helplessly spread his hands and said, "If we weren't dressed like this, we probably wouldn't be able to get to you. But what do you mean by coming to your house to question you?"

Andres also spread his hands like Lin Yan: "A group of police came last night, and another group came this morning. They didn't conduct a large-scale search, but just took a few portraits and asked me to identify whether I had seen the people on the paper recently. One of the portraits looked very much like Mr. Morgan, and at the time I just thought it was someone who looked very similar to him. After looking at it once, I said I had never seen him and sent them away. Now that I think about it, the people in those portraits should all be from your gang."

After talking so much, Andres realized that he hadn't answered Lin Yan's question yet, so he coughed lightly and brought the topic back to the previous topic: "It seems that the group of law enforcers will not mess around with civilians like us. We still have an empty room here," Andres pointed to the house in the east: "I usually use this place as a warehouse to store some messy things. Sofia and I will clean it up later, and you can live here for the next few days. As for leaving the city... I go to the Emerald Ranch to buy some fresh beef every few days, but I haven't been out in the past two days, but there were quite a few police on duty at the exit the past two days. I heard that they were looking for some kidnappers. Could that incident be related to you?"
