Wilderness Redemption Tour
Chapter 202 Infiltration
"Where is the document now?" Arthur asked as the group of four set out.
"At the coal tar plant in Cornwall, a foreman named Danbury placed it in the office above the refining workshop. You can easily find the room after going upstairs." Although he had many complaints about Arthur and others, when it came to business, Flying Eagle still told them everything he knew.
He continued, "If the document is what we think it is, the people in Cornwall will definitely destroy it as soon as they find someone breaking in. The document is important evidence and must not be damaged, so you must sneak into the factory and steal the document without alerting anyone."
"No problem, we are all professionals." Arthur assured, patting his chest.
"How can we know if the document we found is the one you want? What's written on it?" Sometimes, women are more careful than men. Sadie pointed out the question of the authenticity of the document, which neither Arthur nor Lin Yan had thought of.
After hearing this, Feiying was also stunned. He really didn't know what to do if Cornwall prepared a fake document for him to steal. After thinking for a while, he hesitated and said, "That... that document was issued by Leland Petroleum Development Company. I don't know any other way to identify it besides the seal. But I don't think Cornwall would deliberately prepare a fake document to prevent it from being stolen..."
As the player with the most relevant experience among the four people, Arthur shocked everyone as soon as he opened his mouth. "The foreman you mentioned before, Danbury, should be in the office. Why not interrogate him when the time comes?"
I don't know about others, but Lin Yan's mouth twitched wildly after hearing this. This is indeed Arthur's usual style, whether it is his thoughts or his behavior, it is so simple and crude.
"Have you studied how to sneak into the factory? I'd like to hear if there is any practical plan." Arthur asked again.
"There's a piece missing from the fence. Our people secretly did that before. You can crawl in from there."
"Did I hear you right, kid? You asked me to dig a hole?" Arthur's tone was slightly dissatisfied.
"This is the safest way. Or you can find a way to hide in a carriage. There have been carriages coming in and out of the factory recently, and the guards usually don't check it." Feiying gave another idea.
"Hmm... this is a good idea." Arthur nodded secretly and decided to hide in the carriage and sneak in. Then he turned to look at Lin Yan and Sadie: "The fewer people the better for this kind of thing, the two of you can wait for me outside the factory with this kid."
The difficulty of infiltrating by one person and that of infiltrating by two or three people are not at the same level. In order to successfully complete the mission, they must send Arthur, the most experienced of the three.
Lin Yan nodded and said, "Okay, if anything happens we will go there to support you as soon as possible."
That's how it was decided. To sneak in, it's important to choose the right time. In broad daylight, the situation around the factory is clear, and the guards can easily detect any disturbance. This kind of thing is best done when it's half dark and people can't see who is five meters away without the help of light. So the few people were not in a hurry to go, anyway, they would wait when they got there.
It took more than six hours, until four o'clock in the afternoon, for the four men to arrive near the Cornish coal tar factory east of Valentine.
Feiying took everyone directly to the Fortress Hill, which overlooked the entire coal tar plant. "Not only can you observe the entire factory from here, but the carriages going in and out of the factory will also pass by at the foot of the hill. The carriages come in and out very frequently, so you can just pick one you like later."
Arthur hummed, then found a good spot to sit on the ground and observe the situation nearby. Lin Yan and Sadie followed suit and sat down next to Arthur.
The location that Feiying brought them to was quite good. In front of them was a gentle slope. Sitting on the edge of the slope, they could easily observe the pedestrians and vehicles passing by on the road below the mountain by lowering their heads. When they looked up, the entire factory was in full view. There was no problem except that it was a bit far away and they needed a telescope to see it closely.
After sitting here and observing for more than an hour, Lin Yan found that the carriages below were indeed as Feiying said. Almost every ten minutes, a carriage entered the factory below, and the factory guards waved and let it go without even looking. The only problem here is that these carriages are almost all open-topped, and there is no way to hide people. Even if the guards are careless, anyone with a normal eye can see such a big person hiding in the carriage.
"These carriages obviously can't hide people. Do you want to pretend to be a coachman?" Lin Yan asked Arthur.
Arthur smiled and shook his head. "These drivers must be familiar faces, so the guards are so fearless. If I disguise myself as a driver, it would be no different from walking into a trap. Since we can't hide people up there, why don't we think about the bottom?"
"You mean the bottom of the carriage?" Lin Yan immediately understood.
"That's right! I can hide under the carriage. I can still hide at this distance."
So they waited for a while, until the sun set and the sky was not completely dark yet, and another carriage slowly drove over. Then Arthur rubbed his face, cheered himself up and stood up.
"It's time." He tightened his clothes, said "wait for my good news", and then trotted down the hill.
How to get under the moving carriage is a technical job. Arthur wanted to show off his skills in front of Eagle to prove that the three thousand dollars was worth it. But before he could touch the carriage, the carriage stopped by itself. Arthur was wondering when he heard a rumbling sound. It turned out that when the carriage was passing the railway, a train passed by here. For safety reasons, the driver stopped the horse in advance.
While the carriage was waiting for the train to pass, Arthur slowly crawled under the carriage. The noise from the passing train perfectly covered up the noise made by Arthur.
Lin Yan and others stood on the hillside and watched Arthur's every move. Although it was getting dark, it had almost no effect on Lin Yan who had basic night vision.
After the train left, the carriage started moving again. In Lin Yan's sight, the carriage drove into the factory unimpeded like other vehicles. After the carriage stopped, Arthur stuck half of his head out to carefully observe the surrounding situation, and then carefully got out after confirming that it was safe.
The driver parked the carriage right in front of the side door of the factory. After Arthur got out of the carriage, he stuck to the wall, crouched down, avoided the light sources of the factory, and successfully entered the factory.
