Wilderness Redemption Tour
Chapter 175 Foodie
After a hearty meal, Lin Yan lay down on the ground, touching his round belly, and crossed his legs. He felt indescribably comfortable, not caring about his image at all.
Now he has completed most of his fundraising task, and he still has several days to raise the remaining funds. He no longer has the pressure of yesterday.
"When the carriage arrives, let's not act impulsively. Let's observe first to see if there is an ambush. During the battle, be careful not to damage anything on the carriage." Lin Yan said lazily as he lay leisurely on the gravel by the lake.
Sadie was still cleaning up the last few skewers. After hearing what she said, she chewed the meat twice and swallowed it. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and said, "We have to kill the driver first. If the other party wants to fight to the death, then none of us will be in trouble. You are a good shot, so I'll give this task to you."
After saying that, she opened her mouth again and started eating with relish.
Sometimes Lin Yan admired Sadie. This woman encountered delicious food, such as the barbecued skewers today. The meat was at least three or four pounds. She ate more than half of it by herself. Her stomach was like a bottomless pit. Unlike him, once he felt full, even if his brain wanted to eat more, his throat and stomach would not agree.
Stretching on the ground, Lin Yan turned his head to look at Sadie who was still eating voraciously. "No problem. As for you, just eat enough. Don't force yourself. You will feel uncomfortable if you eat too much. Also, this is for you. Take whichever you like." Lin Yan took out the box of jewelry and placed it next to Sadie.
Sadie looked at the jewelry box, then looked at her greasy hands, and gave up the idea of touching it now. "Well, I'll wash my hands later. Don't worry, I know my limits." She answered vaguely.
Seeing this, Lin Yan said no more, took his hat to cover his face and took a nap.
"Jamie, wake up, wake up..." Lin Yan felt someone calling him in his ear just as he fell asleep.
"What's the matter..." Lin Yan sat up and squinted at Sadie who woke him up.
Sadie raised her hand and put Lin Yan's hat on his head, "The car is coming."
"Ah?" Lin Yan, who had just woken up and whose mind was not very clear yet, did not react to what car Sadie was talking about.
"Here, look for yourself." Sadie raised her chin and pointed to the freight carriage that Lin Yan had just passed by.
After discovering that Lin Yan had fallen asleep, Sadie took it upon herself to identify the passing carriages. She originally thought that the carriage she was waiting for was a passenger box carriage like the one in the morning, so she didn't pay much attention to the ordinary flatbed freight carriages. It was not until this freight carriage passed by her and she saw the sculptures and portraits on the carriage that she realized that this was the target of their operation.
Lin Yan looked at the carriage going away, blinked, and suddenly came to his senses. He got up and said, "Damn it, didn't they say they would pass by here in the afternoon? How come they are so early?"
"It's getting late. You've been asleep for almost two hours."
Hearing Sadie say that she had slept for two hours, Lin Yan was stunned at first, then laughed awkwardly: "Ahaha...really? Fortunately you were here, otherwise I would have missed it. How is it, is there an ambush?"
"Look, the car is almost out of sight, and there's no one following behind, so there shouldn't be an ambush."
"Really? Let me see."
"Also, I'm returning this to you. I don't really like the jewelry in it. You should sell them all."
"Oh, OK." There was only one road, so Lin Yan was not worried about the carriage going too far. He put away the jewelry box handed to him by Sadie, whistled to call his horse, and rode on the horse to carefully check if there was anything unusual around him.
"Well, there is indeed no ambush." Lin Yan nodded, pulled the reins and said, "Let's go and see if the things in the car are real or fake."
It didn't take long for the two to catch up with the slowly moving carriage. This carriage also carried three people, two in the front driving seat and one sitting in the rear where the partition was originally placed.
Lin Yan and Sadie had already put on face masks. The guard sitting at the rear of the carriage became alert immediately after noticing this strange passerby. He reached for his gun and shouted to his companion in front of him: "Little..."
He had just opened his mouth, before he could even utter a complete sentence, when a sudden gunshot interrupted his intention to continue speaking.
The driver in the front trembled, and before his body could react, the guard in the rear of the carriage followed him after another gunshot. The last one to fall was the guard in the passenger seat, who was shot at almost the same time as the guard in the rear of the carriage.
There were two Lin Yans and one Sadie. It took them less than a second to kill these three people.
Coming to the carriage and looking at the several small sculptures and a framed bust in the carriage, Lin Yan began to wonder. He didn't recognize any of these sculptures and paintings. Were they all antiques?
Sadie had never seen these things before, so she came over and touched them curiously, her eyes full of confusion. "What are these things for? I don't want them even if they're given to me for free."
Patting one of the exquisitely carved small sculptures, Lin Yan, who knew only a little about this business, tried to explain: "If these are real, they are the heritage of human civilization. Whether they are worth money depends on what value the buyer has in them."
"No matter how good it is, it's just a processed stone." Sadie said disapprovingly, and at the same time pulled the body lying on the driver's seat out of the car.
Lin Yan squatted down and searched the pockets of the corpse at the rear of the carriage, and stuffed two one-dollar bills into his space bag. "The various gemstones you like are just beautiful stones. The difference between the two is that one is passively processed by nature, and the other is actively processed by humans."
"Are gems also stones?" Sadie asked in surprise.
"Strictly speaking, it is a kind of ore." After completing the search, Lin Yan got on the carriage, pulled the reins, and answered seriously.
"I thought it was some essence of nature." Sadie handed the things she had just found to Lin Yan with a hint of disappointment.
"Essence? You don't want to collect these things and make a wish with them?" Lin Yan joked.
"How could I be so childish..." Sadie's face turned slightly red, as if her secrets had been revealed to her. However, Lin Yan was focused on driving at the moment and did not notice the subtle change on her face.
When he arrived at Seamus' warehouse again while maintaining a speed of about ten miles per hour, Lin Yan discovered that the bootleg liquor he sold to him yesterday and the carriage had disappeared.
I don’t know whether it was sold to a buyer or deleted by the system... The thought flashed through Lin Yan’s mind, but he was not a person who liked to dwell on trivial matters, and he was unwilling to think about things that were not related to the current situation.
