Wilderness Redemption Tour

Chapter 129 Who is Angelo Bronte?

Realizing that the leader of the Braithwaite family would not cooperate easily, Dutch put away his previous expression and turned back to command Lin Yan and John: "Forget it, take her out."

"What about this guy?" Arthur pointed to one of the "corpses" lying on the ground.

Following the direction of Arthur's finger, Lin Yan discovered that this person was still alive.

Dutch didn't say anything. He just raised his hand and shot the man in the head, "telling" Arthur what to do with his actions.

"Gerald!" Watching her loved one being shot in the head, Catherine Braithwaite first screamed, then sat on the ground and cried in despair.

Dutch kicked her in disgust and said, "Throw this witch out now."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yan and John stepped forward, bent down, each holding one of the other's arms, and dragged Catherine Braithwaite, who was sitting on the ground and crying, out.

Before leaving, Dutch asked Arthur, "Is there anyone alive in this house?"

"There are still a few rooms that have not been searched. All those that have been searched are gone," Arthur replied.

"Then search the rest of the rooms, and if you can't find Jack, burn the whole house."

Catherine Braithwaite howled even louder when she heard that this group of bandits not only killed people but also wanted to burn down her ancestral home.

By the time Lin Yan and John dragged the struggling hostess out of the villa, Arthur and Hosea had already searched the last few rooms of the villa. After making sure that there was no trace of Jack, they each took a burning candle from the candlestick in the corridor, and then used the candles to light the curtains of each room on the first floor.

In just a moment, the whole villa was engulfed in flames. Catherine Braithwaite was taken to the courtyard outside and saw her house engulfed in flames. She stopped crying meaninglessly and started to curse the robbers in front of her.

"You damned Yankees, I curse you to hell!"

"Mrs. Braithwaite, why did you take the child away?" Hosea asked again patiently.

"You stole my wine, you stole my horse, you killed my men, and I just took a child from you..."

"Rules... You bandits, how dare you talk to me about rules? There are no rules in war..."

"You want to know where the child is? I'll tell you now. My son gave him to Mr. Angelo Bronte before you came. He's probably in St. Denis now. Either there... or on the ship to Italy."

"What's the exact address? Where does this Mr. Angelo Blount you mentioned live?"

Hosea asked several times, but Katherine Braithwaite just laughed.

Seeing that he could not get anything out of the other party, Hosea immediately made a decision. "Quick, let's go to Saint Denis."

Dutch didn't doubt him and immediately said to everyone, "Listen to Hosea, let's go."

"What about her?" Sean pointed the gun at the back of Catherine Braithwaite's head.

"Don't worry about her. It's better to let her live in pain." Hosea said without turning his head.

On the way to the manor gate, Lin Yan looked back curiously. If he were to put himself in the role of a bystander, he would feel that the Van der Linde gang had gone too far in the whole incident, and he had some sympathy for the old woman's experience.

Under the blazing flames, the old man struggled to get up from the ground, staggering with every step, but walked into the burning villa with great determination.

Seeing this scene, Lin Yan shook his head regretfully, and then cleared the scene he had just seen from his mind. Jack had not been found yet, and he had no time to sympathize with an enemy.

However, the system message suddenly made its presence felt.

[Ding! Achievements obtained: Killing all (participating in the extermination of a gang or destroying a family). Achievements obtained: Kind butcher (indirectly causing the leader of a gang or family to choose to die). After seeing the system's reward, the little sense of guilt in Lin Yan's heart disappeared.

"Does anyone know who the Angelo Bronte that old woman is talking about?" Hosea asked others after getting on the horse.

After waiting for a while and seeing no response, Hosea sighed and said, "It seems we have to start from the beginning."

"Isn't it a little too late today to investigate?" asked Arthur.

"Indeed." Hosea nodded, stroking his chin and analyzing, "I was a little impulsive just now. Now I've calmed down and thought about it again. That woman deliberately sent Jack away. In addition to revenge on us, there may be other reasons. Whatever the reason is, I can be sure that Jack's life is not in danger for the time being."

Hosea looked at Dutch and said, "We can start asking about Angelo Bronte tomorrow. Now we just need to find out if there is a ship from Saint Denis going to Italy tonight or in the near future."

"We don't have to go all the time for this. Saint Denis is not like this rural place. Too many people will make it difficult to act. We only need to send a few people."

After listening to Hosea's analysis, Dutch nodded in agreement.

"That makes sense. Then... Arthur, John, Jamie, the three of you go to the dock of Saint Denis tonight to inquire, and the rest of you come back to the camp with me to recuperate. We'll go to Saint Denis tomorrow morning."

Arthur and John mounted their horses and set off in a hurry. Although Lin Yan thought that the claim that Jack was taken to Italy was not very tenable, he still needed someone to confirm it. Arthur and John were the two strongest forces in the gang, and also Jack's father and uncle. They were undoubtedly the most suitable candidates.

Lin Yan returned to the camp with other gang members. Although Abigail did not see Dutch return with Jack, after Hosea's explanation and knowing that Jack's life was not in danger for the time being, she gradually let go of her worry.

The new camp was much smaller than the previous one because some people were arranged to live in the villa. Dutch and Molly naturally lived in the master bedroom, John's family was also assigned a large house, and Hosea and Arthur, the second and third in command of the gang, naturally had a place, but Hosea said after returning that he was used to living outside and gave this place to Aunt Susan.

After Arthur was arranged to move into the villa, Lin Yan's "neighbor" was replaced by Lenny.

Before going to bed, Arthur and John, who had gone to St. Denis Pier to inquire about the news, rushed back and brought back good news.
