Traveling through The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

Chapter 30 A Night to Remember

"It's Eric, the worthless thing!"

Riya cursed angrily and told the story. At first, she and Eric saw that it was still early, so they wandered around the market in the plains and tried to find out some news about the Red Guards living in Whiterun. As a result, when Riya was still trying to make friends with Amulun, Eric disappeared, which made her look for him for a long time. Finally, she learned from the elves selling game that this guy and a bearded man walked into the mare banner with their arms around each other's shoulders, talking and laughing, saying that they were going to participate in a drinking competition. When Riya entered the door, she was almost knocked over by the strong smell of alcohol, and then she found that there were a dozen people in the corner who were cheering and watching the fun. When she squeezed in, she saw four ragged guys lying on the ground in a mess, two of them had a pool of dirt around their mouths, and a middle-aged uncle in a black robe was obviously the organizer, and he was busy pouring wine for Eric and the bearded man who were still standing upright. The three unlucky guys were obviously drunk, but seeing that the winner might be revealed in the next drink, no one was willing to admit defeat. The hostess of the hotel was afraid that they would drink to death, so she took a broom and swept all these rubbish into the street. Riya finally squeezed in, but when she turned around, she was blocked by people watching the fun. When she went out again, she found that these guys were gone. The market was like being robbed by a hurricane. She had to shamelessly ask people one by one about the whereabouts of the drunkards. Finally, she learned from a woman named Isolda that the guy in the black robe said that he knew a beautiful woman, so he bought a wedding ring from her and was going to get married and hold a banquet in a place called Movanska. Whoever won between Eric and the bearded man would be the groom, and the loser could only be the best man.

"I've never lost such a big person since I was a child! How come he didn't get choked to death or drowned by that bubble of dog urine!"

This is the demon quest "A Night to Remember". Bloody is a bit like Dionysus, the god of wine in Greek mythology. He is strongly related to things like drinking and reveling. From a modern perspective, he is not evil, especially since ancient people often had to work all day long and always had to find a chance to take a break and have some casual sex. And the reward for this quest is a staff that can summon demons, which is really a good travel companion. But what I am worried about now is that Eric will run back to Loristed to steal Ennis's goat. I just promised to take care of him a few days ago, but he got drunk and made trouble in a blink of an eye. How can I go back to my hometown to see people in the future? And several locations of this quest span the entire Skyrim Province, where we will encounter giants, crow hags and a great wizard with explosive damage. At the moment, we have neither time nor ability, so we can only ask Isolda. Once we meet Eric, we must ask him to go to Falkreath or Helgen to find me first.

Riya came into the inn still cursing Eric until I poked her and quietly indicated that the waitress was a Red Guard. She was the one who had kicked a few drunks out of the inn before, but in the chaos, Riya didn't notice it at all.

"Would you like to take a look at her?"

Riya went to chat with Satya with a glass of wine. I took out five Septim and gave them to the poet Mikael, and ordered a song called "Ragnar the Red". This song spoofed the pirate king "Fur Pants" Ragnar and his wife "Shieldmaiden" Lalot. I listened to it as a joke and also covered for Riya. Sure enough, after the song, the two Red Guard women disappeared.

The nights in Skyrim are quite boring, especially the long winter nights. It's not interesting to sit around the fire and drink and brag. I looked for people to chat with in the inn and make friends. I soon learned that Danica, the priestess of Genaleth, was trying to find someone to revive the golden tree, the young men of the War Mad and Gray Mane families were performing Romeo and Juliet, Isolda needed a mammoth tusk to start her business, and the young widow Carlotta was annoyed by Mikael's harassment. She also promised to go to the War Girl Blacksmith Shop early tomorrow morning to help Adrian deliver a two-handed sword to her father. Then I saw a petite figure huddled in the corner.

The little girl was about ten years old. She was dirty and her clothes were not the original color. She was barefoot and sitting on the floor with her back against the wall. I bought her a bowl of beef soup and brought it to her, and listened to her talk about her miserable life. After Lucia's parents died, her uncle and aunt inherited the farm and drove the little girl away. She ran to the city and followed Brynun to beg. Originally, the two of them would try their luck in the hotel every night, but Brynun sprayed all over the floor because he participated in a drinking competition, so Satia kicked him out. When Riya came back, she nodded at me. I took the opportunity to stuff Lucia into her room. The little girl had to sleep on the floor outside in the winter. It was really pitiful. I proposed to take her back to Helgen and do odd jobs in Eddie's restaurant in the future. The little girl happily agreed.

The next morning, Rhode went to the War Maiden Blacksmith Shop alone. While picking up the sword, he also observed how his counterparts in the big city did business. I took Lucia around the market, bought her some clothes, and then joined Rhode to go to Dragonsreach Palace. Balgruuf had already written a reply yesterday. He repeated those meaningless words again, saying that his position remained unchanged: neither offending the Empire nor allowing the Legion to enter; neither giving up the faith of Talos nor obeying the Stormcloaks. Similarly, neither forming an alliance with Falkreath nor being hostile to us. It seems that he offended no one, but in fact, he offended everyone. This can really be called "cherishing one's life when doing great things, and forgetting one's life when seeing small profits."

"We only have two choices now. One is to recognize the sovereignty of the Empire like Balgruuf did, and then find an opportunity to become a traitor. The other is to join the Stormcloaks. Please tell Lord Danger that I personally prefer the first option. We can try to use the werewolf incident to gain some autonomy. If General Tullius does not take the initiative to come to us, try to delay for a while and discuss it in detail after we bring the baron back."

Rod had to go to Loristed to deliver a letter to the Red Guards first, and inform everyone to keep an eye on Eric's whereabouts, and then bring Balgruuf's letter back to Falkreath. After saying goodbye to him, I went to buy a horse. It was too slow to walk with Lucia, and it would be nice to have a mount when I picked up my father. Although the channels for Rocker's horse trade were cut off by the lords, the relevant knowledge and skills are still there, so these more than a thousand Septim are still worth the money. When I passed the Lorius Farm to the north, I didn't find Cicero, but I found Lucia clenching her fists tightly, looking very excited.

"Forget about this place. You will have a new home soon."
