Crossing the World of Warcraft: I am an Ancient God
Chapter 876 The Disappearing Gem
Yun's eyes widened, staring intently at the chaotic energy. Like a blazing torch, it plunged into the intricate spiderweb. Instantly, the green slime, as if encountering its natural enemy, was rapidly devoured by the chaotic energy, burning away completely.
Yun's mind suddenly became clear. So that's why! He finally understood why he had dealt with Duriel so easily. It seemed that this Chaos Energy had a clear inhibitory effect on Duriel! Yun couldn't help but feel a little speechless. Shouldn't these demons be even more afraid of the Holy Light? But the opposite was true. His Chaos Energy seemed to be even more lethal to the demons.
Although Yun was baffled by this phenomenon, he wasn't about to delve into the reasons behind it. He was only concerned with whether he could more easily defeat the enemy before him. Since Chaos Energy could be so effective, that was naturally the best option. Thinking of this, Yun felt a sudden sense of relief, yet at the same time, he also became increasingly vigilant.
Where exactly will fate await him? Yun swung the Ashbringer in his hand, chopping Duriel's body into pieces while paying close attention to the surrounding movements to see if there was any reaction from Lishvim.
"Wait a minute, I feel your special energy." Lishvim said suddenly, with a hint of surprise in his voice.
Yun's heart tightened when he heard this. He quickly stopped what he was doing and waved back, trying to figure out where Lishvim was.
Following Lishvim's guidance, Yun's gaze finally settled on the piece of metal. It lay quietly on the ground, identical to the previous piece of metal, without the slightest difference.
Yun observed carefully and found that the location of the metal block seemed to be slightly different this time, probably at the back of Duriel's head. However, because Duriel's head and body were closely connected, Yun had not been very careful when searching just now, so he had not noticed it.
As Yun stared at the metal block, the same transformation occurred again as the chaotic energy was injected. Lishvim's body gradually began to recover from a small metal block to its normal state, as if driven by a mysterious force.
Yun watched this transformation with a strange feeling in his heart. He felt that there was something strange about Lishvim's transformation, but when he looked closely, he couldn't find any obvious differences.
Yun couldn't help but start to doubt his intuition. Perhaps it was because he had experienced too many things recently, which made him become a little suspicious, and everyone he saw seemed to want to harm him.
"Thank you for saving me again." There was a hint of gratitude in Lishvim's voice, but more of it was confusion and puzzlement.
Yun stared at Lishvim, his heart filled with curiosity. He couldn't help but ask, "How did you get into Duriel's body? And where did this Duriel come from?"
Lishvim smiled wryly and shook his head, explaining, "I don't know either. I was studying Andariel's corpse at the time, and I was very curious about why these former demons were there, so I wanted to delve deeper. But then I suddenly fainted."
Yun found this explanation somewhat incredulous. He frowned and questioned, "Fainted? That simple?" He felt it was far more complicated than that. After all, Rishvim was no ordinary man. He was the boss of the Tomb of the Firstborn and, supposedly, the only remaining life on his home planet. How could he be knocked unconscious so easily? Even stranger, he could transform into the metal block he had previously been, and then be placed inside Duriel's body.
Lishvim obviously realized something was amiss. He sighed helplessly and said, "I find it strange, too. I've carefully checked the surroundings and found nothing unusual. And with Duriel being so large, I should have been able to detect any movement."
"Alright, be careful," Yun said impatiently, clearly no longer wanting to hear any more of Lishvim's explanations. His mind was completely preoccupied with another matter—when exactly would Mephisto appear? After all, according to the game's standard setup, the bosses of Acts 1 and 2 had already appeared, so the boss of Act 3 should be arriving soon.
"Yes, yes," Lishvim said quickly, as if afraid Yun might change his mind. Without another word, he walked straight towards Duriel's body, completely ignoring the green slime. Once there, he began to examine Duriel's body carefully.
Time passed by, Yun waited anxiously, but there was no sign of Mephisto. Gradually, his nerves relaxed, and he began to wonder what Lishvim was researching.
"What are you researching?" Yun finally couldn't hold back any longer and asked. He watched Rishvim tinkering with Duriel's body for a long time, but he didn't know if he had discovered anything new.
Lishvim didn't turn around, his attention completely focused on Duriel's corpse. After a long moment, he slowly spoke, "I'm mainly interested in seeing what this Duriel is made of. On their home planet, they're made of a unique kind of emotional energy, but generating that energy requires a large number of lives. But here, there's clearly not that much of that special energy, so I'm curious: what are they made of here?"
"Oh? Have you figured out anything?" Yun's voice revealed a hint of anticipation. He stared at Lishvim, eager to know if he had any new discoveries.
Lishvim frowned, seemingly puzzled by the question. After a moment's reflection, he said, "These demons are made of pure energy. This is very strange. Common sense doesn't suggest that there should be such a large amount of energy here. And even if there were so much energy, why would it be transformed into these demons? It's truly puzzling."
Yun nodded, agreeing with Lishvim's point of view. He was completely unfamiliar with this kind of thing, so he could only hope that Lishvim could give him some reasonable explanation.
"Do you have any ideas?" Yun asked, hoping that Lishvim could find some clues from his vast knowledge and experience.
However, Lishvim shook his head and said helplessly, "I don't know. I am as confused as you are."
Yun couldn't help but sigh. It seemed this problem wasn't going to be easy to solve. He waited there for a while longer, his eyes fixed on the stairs, anticipating Mephisto's appearance.
Time passed, but Mephisto still hadn't appeared. Yun began to wonder, would he have to leave this place before Mephisto would appear? Was there some hidden secret he couldn't let him know?
Yun's heart was filled with doubts, but he decided not to wait any longer. He walked slowly up the stairs, each step hesitant.
When he reached the next floor, he did not stay for too long, but quickly turned back and returned to the fourth floor.
"Oh my god!" Yun couldn't help but scream, his face filled with astonishment. He stared in disbelief at Lishvim, who was supposed to be standing there, but had now disappeared without a trace.
This is truly unbelievable! Yun thought to himself, he had been guarding the stairs on the third floor the entire time, and there was no way anyone could have left or come in under his nose. However, Lishvim had vanished without a trace, as if he had evaporated from the face of the earth.
Yun was panicked for a moment, but he quickly calmed down. After all, this wasn't the first time he'd encountered this situation. He immediately recalled his previous experience and knew he had to find Lishvim's metal block as soon as possible.
So Yun began to search carefully around, not missing any corner where the metal block might be hidden. However, although he searched very carefully, even checking every inch of the ground repeatedly, he still could not find any trace of the metal block.
Just when Yun was feeling a little frustrated, he suddenly noticed that the pile of Duriel on the ground, which had originally rotted into a ball, was actually starting to swell. This strange scene made Yun frown, but he did not show too much shock or fear.
Yun sighed inwardly. These guys clearly knew they were no match for him, yet they kept pestering him. They could either attack together or simply follow the plot and leave. Why keep coming back to harass him like this?
However, despite his complaints, Yun did not let his guard down. He knew that Mephisto could appear at any time, so he quickly hid in the corner where he had been hiding before, quietly waiting for Mephisto's arrival.
However, at this moment, a loud bang was heard, followed by an earth-shattering explosion! Amidst the smoke and dust, a figure loomed—Mephisto had arrived.
Yun's face was expressionless. He infused the Ashbringer in his hand with Chaos Energy. Taking advantage of Mephisto's unstable footing, Yun slashed at his head like lightning. In an instant, Mephisto's head was easily severed by Yun, forming a stark contrast to the shocking way he had appeared.
All of this seemed so easy, without any difficulty at all. Yun walked straight to Mephisto's body and soon found the metal block representing Lishvim on Mephisto's head.
Yun injected chaos energy again, and Lishvim changed back to his original form.
Looking at the familiar Rishvim before him, Yun sensed a strange aura. Although Rishvim looked much the same as before, Yun felt that something about him had changed. This feeling was so subtle that Yun couldn't quite pinpoint what was different.
Lishwim seemed to have noticed Yun's strange look. He said a little embarrassedly, "I'm so sorry. I'm locked up again."
Yun frowned and asked, "What happened? Why are you locked up here?"
Lishvim shook his head helplessly and replied, "I really don't know. When I woke up, I found myself locked up."
Yun stared at Lishvim, his suspicions growing like a snowball. He wondered what truth lay behind these events. Why was Lishvim imprisoned? Why did they wait until he left to carry out this operation? Was it simply a coincidence? Was Lishvim's sudden disappearance at the exact moment he left simply a fluke? Was there a deeper reason? Was someone deliberately trying to capture Lishvim, or was this all a trap Lishvim had set for himself?
Yun's brow furrowed, his eyes filled with suspicion and alarm as he stared intently at Lishvim, as if trying to see through his exterior to his true thoughts. Finally, Yun broke the silence and asked, "Do you feel any changes in your body?" There was a hint of hostility in his voice that startled Lishvim.
"Ah? Changes? What changes?" Lishvim was obviously a little overwhelmed by Yun's question. He widened his eyes and looked at Yun blankly, as if he had no idea what Yun was referring to.
"It's just... change. Any change counts." Yun's tone became more serious. He already felt that there was an invisible force secretly watching him, waiting for him to fall into a trap.
Lishvim hesitated, then thought for a moment, and slowly said: "Changes... I feel that I am getting weaker and weaker. Does this count?" His voice was a little low, and he seemed to be very confused about the changes in his body.
"That's all?" Yun asked suspiciously, as if he was not satisfied with the answer given by Lishvim.
Seeing this, Lishvim nodded quickly and replied affirmatively, "That's just how I feel."
However, Yun's brows were getting more and more furrowed, and he kept muttering, "No, there's a problem, there's a problem..." He seemed to have suddenly noticed something unusual, but he couldn't tell exactly what was wrong. He fell into a state of confusion.
"Is there any problem?" Lishwim couldn't help but feel puzzled when he saw Yun's reaction, and asked.
Yun didn't answer immediately, but stared at Lishvim. Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he suddenly shouted, "You have a problem!"
Lishwim was startled by Yun's sudden words and asked in astonishment, "Ah? I have a problem? What's wrong with me?"
Yun's eyes were wide open, and he squeezed them hard, as if there was some important clue right in front of him, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not grasp it, which made Yun extremely anxious.
Lishvim looked at Yun, not knowing what to say for a moment. The two of them were in a stalemate, and the air around them seemed to be frozen because of the tense atmosphere.
"By the way, where are the gems?" Yun suddenly remembered and asked, staring at Lishvim.
"Gem? What gem?" Lishvim looked at Yun with a puzzled look on his face.
