Crossing the World of Warcraft: I am an Ancient God
Chapter 872: The Stage
Yun felt uncomfortable with the system's suspense and felt a little dissatisfied. However, even though the system didn't directly explain the situation, Yun decided not to ask any further questions. After all, the system didn't give any hints, which meant there shouldn't be much danger ahead.
With this thought, Yun quickened his pace, heading deeper into the cave. While the entrance seemed narrow, once inside, the space was surprisingly spacious. Yun couldn't help but feel curious. This was clearly a massive cave, so what was above it? After all, the bosses in the Holy Tomb of the Firstborn were enormous. If they stepped on it, the cave would probably collapse instantly.
Despite these doubts, Yun continued on without hesitation. Once inside, he was surprised to find it was much more spacious than he'd imagined. Such a vast space was truly the perfect place to house a magic circle. However, Yun remained curious about the origins of this dimensional portal and wondered who had created it.
"System, didn't you say there was someone here? But why can't I see him?" Yun looked around and asked in confusion.
"The scale of the dimensional portal is quite large, and this is just the place that leads to the dimensional portal." The system explained.
Huh? Huge? Yun was secretly surprised. How could such a vast space not accommodate it? Just how big could it be? Yun couldn't help but stare wide-eyed, looking around, filled with amazement.
Not only that, this mysterious dimensional portal was not in this seemingly boundless place. So where could it be? Various possibilities flashed through Yun's mind, but he could not determine its exact location.
What intrigued Yun even more was what exactly this dimensional portal was used for? What world or dimension did it connect to? Yun's mind was filled with questions, as if countless ants were gnawing at him, making him restless.
"Where is the teleportation array?" Yun finally couldn't contain his inner anxiety and asked.
"Marked." The system's voice sounded in Yun's ears without any emotion.
Yun hurriedly followed the system's instructions and saw a faint light suddenly illuminate in an unremarkable spot on one side of the hall. If the system hadn't specifically pointed it out, Yun probably wouldn't have discovered this place at all.
As expected, this dimensional portal was so deeply hidden that it was definitely no ordinary existence. Finding it would require considerable effort. Yun couldn't help but become more and more interested in the secrets behind this portal. How many unknown secrets did it hide?
Now that he was here, Yun naturally wouldn't give up easily. He took a deep breath, walked towards the marked location, and stepped into the portal without hesitation.
Suddenly, a strong feeling of dizziness hit Yun, and he felt dizzy and as if the whole world was turning upside down. He closed his eyes tightly, suppressing the discomfort and waiting for the dizziness to pass.
After an unknown amount of time, Yun slowly opened his eyes, and the scene before him made him so shocked that he couldn't close his mouth.
Before him stood a strange building, its style completely different from anything Yun had ever seen. It seemed to come from another world, exuding a mysterious and ancient aura.
This was neither the Titan architectural style nor the Old God style, nor the architectural style of the Shadowlands or Azeroth. Although Yun had never seen such a building before, he had a sense of déjà vu, a sense of familiarity that was extremely strong, yet puzzling.
The building's exterior resembled structures on Earth. The stone hall was spacious and solemn, with numerous pillars standing in its center. These pillars were engraved with designs, but due to the erosion of time, most of the carvings had peeled off, making it difficult to discern their original appearance. Yet, it was this dark place that instilled in Yun an inexplicable sense of familiarity, as if he had been here before.
Yun racked his brain, searching through his memories, but he couldn't recall when he had been to such a place. He couldn't help but wonder where this sense of familiarity came from.
"System, didn't you say that the people I know are here? Where are they?" Yun asked anxiously, hoping that the system could give him an answer.
However, the system remained silent, as if it had lost contact. Unwilling to give up, Yun called out twice more: "System, system?" But all he got in response was dead silence.
Yun felt somewhat helpless, realizing that he had been able to maintain contact with the system before, perhaps simply because he hadn't reached the crucial point. But now, when he was truly in this strange place, the system suddenly went silent. Perhaps this meant this was the true destination.
Regardless, the system had never deceived him; at most, it simply didn't tell him the truth. Thinking of this, Yun couldn't help but feel a surge of hope. He firmly believed there must be a dimensional portal here that could take him back to his original world. Furthermore, he was convinced there must be someone he knew in this place.
So, Yun continued forward without hesitation. Actually, this wasn't really the front, but rather a spacious hall. Surrounding the hall were many rooms. Yun wandered for a long time, never daring to enter any of them. However, after some exploration, he had a general understanding of the place.
This place appeared to be a Western-style church, yet there were no doors leading to the outside world, which made Yun even more surprised. Even stranger, there were no monsters here. Everything seemed unusually quiet and old. Thick dust covered every corner, and some of the wooden furniture was so fragile that it would break at the slightest touch. Clearly, no one had been here for a long time.
Yun couldn't help but wonder. If the system said someone he knew was here, why was the entire place so desolate and dilapidated? Filled with questions, Yun walked through the entire floor, eventually discovering a single staircase leading down. Since the staircase was made of stone, it wasn't as badly damaged as the rest of the place. Yun had no choice but to bravely descend.
The light on the lower floor was noticeably dimmer than on the upper floor, but not so dark that you could still see your surroundings clearly. Like the upper floor, there were many rooms here, but their layout was quite strange. They weren't neatly arranged, nor were there any decent furniture. Instead, there were multiple doors, making it difficult to understand.
This strange design confused Yun. He couldn't help but think that this style of architecture was clearly not designed for human habitation. It looked more like a maze, like the ones in games. When Yun saw the stairs leading downstairs, he was even more certain of his thoughts—this was a map from a game.
Only games would design something like this, placing the two descending stairs in different locations. If this were a real-life residential complex, such a design would surely be met with condemnation. Yun was filled with curiosity, eager to know what kind of game this was, how it related to him, and why he was there. Countless questions lingered in his mind, making him eager to find out.
The lower level was identical to the upper level, equally dilapidated and devoid of any signs of human presence, which greatly surprised Yun. This place was supposed to be underground, yet he could still sense a faint light. No matter how hard he searched, he couldn't locate the source of this light, which undoubtedly added to Yun's confusion.
Yun, filled with curiosity, continued to head towards the next level. He pushed open the door with ease, eager to explore what lay beneath. However, the moment he stepped onto this level, a strange green mist surged towards him like a raging torrent.
"Holy Shield!" Yun called out the name of the skill almost reflexively. Instantly, a faint golden shield materialized before him, abruptly blocking the green mist. However, to his surprise, the green mist passed directly through Yun's body like a ghost, as if his Holy Shield had no effect on it at all.
At that moment, Yun's gaze finally settled on a figure not far ahead. It was a tall woman, emanating a chilling aura. She possessed four arms, each tipped with sharp spikes, giving her a ferocious appearance. Her hair, like flaming flames, shone brightly in the gloomy underground, and her glowing red eyes were even more chilling.
"Oh my god..." Yun cursed inwardly at the sight and quickly dodged. However, the female monster didn't seem to intend to let him go. She opened her mouth again, and a cloud of green mist, even thicker than before, shot straight at Yun like a green cannonball.
Yun had no choice but to dodge once more. At the same time, he quickly pulled out a fireball from his pocket and threw it at the female monster without hesitation.
The fireball, like a flaming meteor, smashed straight into the monster's body, but the monster remained completely unmoved, as if this incredibly powerful spell was nothing more than a tickle to it. The monster's two sturdy legs sprinted as fast as lightning, charging straight towards Yun.
"Andariel!" Yun screamed in fear upon seeing this. However, the female monster only paused for a moment, then continued to chase Yun madly and attack him continuously, as if she had not heard Yun's cry at all.
"Shit, what the hell is going on? Why did it suddenly go off the stage?" Yun couldn't help but curse inwardly, his heart filled with anxiety and helplessness. He had no idea how to deal with the situation at hand, his mind in a state of confusion.
"Ice Arrow!" Yun threw an ice arrow in panic, hoping to slow down the monster a little.
"Arcane Blast!" Then he used Arcane Blast again, trying to cause some damage to the monster.
"Moonfire!"
"Spark!"
“Shadow Bolt!”
“Punishing!”
“Lightning Bolt!”
Yun continuously unleashed various spells, but none of these attacks seemed to have much effect on the monster. The monster continued to bite Yun tightly like a mad beast, not giving Yun any chance to breathe.
Yun didn't dare to get close, but fortunately he was agile enough and at least he hadn't been attacked. At the same time, Yun also used various skills. The good news was that all the skills could be used, but the bad news was that these skills didn't seem to cause any damage to Andariel.
"System, system, come out!" Yun shouted anxiously, nimbly dodging the enemy's attacks. However, no matter how he shouted, the system remained unresponsive, as if it had completely vanished.
Yun secretly groaned inwardly. He didn't dare launch a counterattack rashly. He didn't know the enemy's strength yet, and he couldn't afford to fail. In desperation, he made a quick decision, turned around, and ran backwards, hoping to reach the negative third floor as quickly as possible, temporarily escape the enemy's entanglement, and then calm down to think about a countermeasure.
However, when he ran to the door that he could have easily opened, he was shocked to find that it was tightly closed. No matter how hard he pushed and pulled, the door would not budge. Yun was speechless for a moment, cursing in his heart, "You don't want to learn the good things, but you learn the bad things!" He glared angrily at Andariel who was not far away.
With nowhere to retreat, Yun decided to stop hiding. He took a deep breath, gripped the Ashbringer tightly, and stared at Andariel with a burning gaze. He vowed to himself, "No matter who you are, I will defeat you in the end! I'm not afraid of you!"
Yun adjusted his breathing, saw the right moment, and suddenly swung Ashbringer, dashing towards Andariel's arm like lightning. He didn't use his full strength on this strike, only attaching a small amount of chaos energy to the blade, in order to test whether this chaos energy could cause damage to Andariel.
The effect was beyond imagination and astonishing! At that moment, Andariel's wound seemed to be burned by sulfuric acid, and black smoke continued to billow out, as if the wound was a bottomless black hole, continuously swallowing everything around it.
Seeing this, Yun breathed a sigh of relief. Since Chaos Energy was so powerful, Andariel seemed less formidable. Without hesitation, Yun activated his sprint and dodge skills, moving with lightning speed, nimbly avoiding Andariel's attacks while searching for the perfect moment to deliver a fatal blow.
Finally, Yun saw a perfect opportunity and approached Andariel as fast as a ghost. Without hesitation, he launched a series of fierce attacks: "Storm Strike!" "Whirlwind!" "Sinister Strike!" "Divine Storm!"
In an instant, the wind howled, lightning flashed and thunder roared, and various powerful forces intertwined together to form a devastating torrent of energy that swept straight towards Andariel.
However, Yun did not stop to check whether his attack was effective, but dodged quickly like a frightened rabbit. After all, he did not dare to take the risk of taking Andariel's attack. Who knew what consequences this attack would bring?
