Chapter 53 From Snow Mountain to Mondstadt

They were on the road for the next few days. At first, Samuel felt a little alienated. He always felt that he couldn't talk nonsense or make any small movements.

But the blond boy always helped him ease the embarrassment inadvertently and led the conversation to make jokes.

As time went on, Samuel gradually relaxed.

The journey is very busy. You need to carry your luggage and hurry on the road, pay attention to the surrounding environment, and confirm the direction of travel.

But Kong would always go to see Samuel in his free time, to see this white-haired boy who had feelings for him.

Sometimes the opponent was playing with the element of wind, sometimes he was jumping around, and sometimes he was too lazy to walk and simply used the element of wind to prop himself up and fly while lying flat with his eyes closed.

Every time this happened, Paimeng on the side would show an envious look on his face.

Paimon said:

I also want to sleep while flying!

But Kong didn't know what Paimon was thinking. Kong just thought Samuel was very interesting, but every time he thought of this, he would always shake his head calmly.

When passing by a village, Kong would go to the local Adventurer's Guild to check out the commissions, help some people, and get some Mora.

What impressed Samuel the most was not the person who received the commission, but a woman named Lian whom he met on the way, from a nearby village, who was wearing a red dress, had a distressed expression, and whom Samuel once suspected was blind.

Sora helped her find the apple tree next to her.

Samuel said:

Honey, I don’t know what you are worried about.

Sora took the reward given by Miss Lian and bought a small bottle of Gale Essential Oil from the alchemy shop in the nearby village.

Then when he was about to give it to Samuel, he suddenly got embarrassed.

…What reason should I give to send it? A reason that won’t cause the other party to misunderstand…

Before he could figure out a result, he found that the other party was staring at the Gale Essential Oil in his hand with sparkling eyes.

This is given out.

What am I embarrassing...

Looking at Samuel who was drinking the essential oil while muttering "This alchemist must have added frog legs, why does it taste so weird", Kong suddenly felt like he was the distressed Miss Lian.

Then he bought a set of casual clothes for Samuel at the clothing store next to the alchemy shop. It was probably a light blue denim jacket, a white shirt, light fawn over-the-knee shorts and a pair of Martin boots.

Samuel looked at himself dressed like this and felt as if he had returned to his original world.

He didn't know if his outfit was more in line with the local residents' aesthetic taste, but when he walked on the street, he would always see people looking at him and whispering something to the person next to them.

It was too far away, and the message Samuel brought back with the wind was only vague and fragmentary:

"……is it him?"

“It doesn’t look like…”

"Shouldn't... be such a young child?"

"..."

This is...looking for someone?

Samuel wondered, could it be that someone dressed like him was missing?

Come to think of it...my biological mother might be posting missing person notices everywhere right now.

Then Samuel shook his head, lamenting the impermanence of life.

Kong looked at the short, white-haired boy and wondered when he would grow up.

Then he patted his pretty face and continued on his way.

The three of them chatted as they traveled. The traveler told a funny story and Paimon laughed. Samuel joked that Paimon's laughter sounded like the howl of a wild boar.

Paimon was so angry that he stomped his feet in the air and hit Samuel on the head in anger. After hitting him, he realized that he seemed unable to defeat this wind slime, so he flew away in a blink of an eye.

Samuel was not willing to be outdone, so he flew up and chased after him, determined to fight to the death. So Samuel and Paimon started chasing each other.

In this atmosphere, combined with the dream he had that night, Kong gradually realized that he might have developed some feelings for the slime.

But if you say you like it...

He slapped himself calmly and shook his head.

This is not the end of the journey.

Besides, what are you thinking? Look at how old Samuel is now.

So Kong suppressed his emotions again and looked at the group of wind slimes over there and Paimon who was concentrating and thinking hard.

.

Samuel seems to be attracted to wind creatures.

At first, we discovered that one or two wind crystal butterflies flew to Samuel's plush hat and landed on it.

Then the passing wind slime slowly moved towards Samuel.

When Samuel is bored, he will transform back into his original form and hide in a pile of wind slimes, asking him and Paimon to guess which one is him.

Paimon was confused at first, but later he found the trick.

The slime that is upside down is Xiaofeng.

Because Samuel was reluctant to take off the red plush hat, Paimon asked him the reason. According to him, he said:

"This was given to me by the gentle and holy Lord Barbatos. I will not pick it!"

But he wanted to play hide-and-seek, so he turned the hat upside down to cover it.

Then Paimon realized that it only took him a day or two to find the trick.

All the wind slimes followed Samuel's example and turned things upside down!

Looking at the group of wind slimes all with their butts (bottoms?) facing her, Paimon felt a little speechless.

Then Sora thought for a moment, walked over and poked the wind slime with the biggest bottom (butt?).

Then he watched the wind slime pop bubbles.

Sora nodded in satisfaction, realizing that he had guessed correctly.

Then Samuel turned over, and floated slowly to the bushes beside him with bubbles in his hand and clothes in his hand. He changed back into human form, put on his clothes, and walked out with a red face.

"Okay, let's stop playing and get on with our journey." Kong smiled and picked up the map to look at it.

Samuel rubbed his hot face and nodded.

Paimon on the side looked at the smiling Sora, then looked at Samuel whose cheeks were slightly red, and narrowed his eyes.

There is something fishy about these two.

There is definitely something fishy.

She felt something was wrong on the first day she set out from the snowy mountains.

On the way, she also tried to hug her chest and stared at their little movements with eyes that seemed to see through everything.

Then it was discovered.

It seems that there is no small action.

At most, Xiaofeng was just blushing on his own. When I first met Xiaofeng, he would blush and feel shy for no reason.

Paimon had to give up when he found no trace, but he still stared at the two of them from time to time with eyes that seemed to be able to see through everything.

then…

The eyes that seemed to be able to see through everything were fixed on the traveler's roasted bird legs.

She flew over decisively and took away the bird leg.

What are you looking at? It’s not as delicious as the food!

Seeing Paimon holding the bird's leg and chewing it, Kong's mouth curled up slightly.

……

"We'll be almost to Mondstadt after we cross this canyon." Sora looked at the map and pointed up at the canyon, "Be careful here, there's a high chance of falling rocks."

Paimon waved his hand: "This is a highway. Even if there are any safety hazards, they have been cleared by the Knights of Favonius long ago, right?"

The road ahead was just as Paimon said, calm and peaceful without any disturbances.

So the three of them walked out of the canyon. When they were about to get out of the canyon, they saw a group of Hillbillies stationed there.

Sora took Samuel and hid in the corner of the canyon rock wall.

Samuel stared at Paimon, as if to say, "Has it been cleaned up?"

Paimon was shocked: "This...this..."

Looking at the white-haired boy's teasing eyes, Paimon felt as if his face was swollen.

"What kind of processing speed does the Knights of Favonius have?

"From Mondstadt to the Snow Mountain, such an important road is not cleaned regularly!

"They actually let the Hilliculers stationed right on the land they had to pass through..."

"Shh." Sora warned, motioning for Paimon to keep his voice down.

At the same time, he stuck his head out and observed the Hillichul camp.

A Grass Hill Shaman, a Hillman with a Fire Crossbow, and three Hillmen with Wooden Clubs...

Paimon also leaned his head over and looked over, wondering, "Strange... Why are there only five Hillichurls?"

Kong guessed, "Their camp shouldn't be here. They are blocking the road and hijacking the supplies of the passing caravan."

"It's possible that they hid when the Knights of Favonius came." Samuel muttered, "Will they come out to intercept the passing caravan after the Knights of Favonius leave?"

Paimon was shocked:

"Can the Hilliards be so intelligent...?"

Then she looked at the wind slime in front of her with its hands on its hips looking at her.

"…Why are you looking at me like that? You're an exception and don't count!"

Sora on the side explained:

“Normal Hill Culverts don’t have such high intelligence.

“But Hill Chow Shaman is known to be an intelligent monster.

"Although it's not as good as human wisdom, it's good enough."

Sora paused and continued, "See the thorn bushes covering the area surrounding the camp?"

Samuel looked in the direction that Sora pointed and indeed saw the thorn bushes that divided the road into several parts.

"This is used to intercept the caravan." Kong put down the luggage and raised the sword.

Paimon suddenly realized: "I see, then we can't let them continue to cause harm."

Sora nodded and walked out with the sword in hand.

"Ya zido!"

What follows is a five-hundred-word fight.
