Chapter 2: Wind Slime Hopes God Listens

The little slime calmed down for a few minutes and sorted out his thoughts.

He looked around, but there was nothing that could represent the Little Grass God.

"According to metaphysics, if I want to pray, I should at least pray to the corresponding symbol...

"There's nothing around here that symbolizes the Grass God. What should I do?"

He looked around, and finally focused his sight on the statue of the God of Wind next to him.

"They are all gods, so it shouldn't be a bad idea to pray to the God of Wind, right?"

So he jumped in front of the statue of the God of Wind and bowed his head sincerely.

"Um, Bastos? No, Baschira? No, Baba's radar?

"What is the name of the God of Wind??! I've been away from the game for so long that I forgot!"

It’s okay if I forget the name of the god...but what should I do now? Can I just call Wendy instead of calling him by his name?

"Well, Wendy, I came from another world. When I got here, I prayed to Xiao - no, to the God of Grass. Can you see if you can get me back, or contact the God of Grass or something like that..."

Seeing no response, he refused to give in.

"Answer me! Barbatos!"

In a moment of desperation, he suddenly remembered the name of the God of Wind.

But as soon as he opened his mouth, he realized that his words seemed to be silent.

After all, slimes have no vocal organs, and the so-called language is nothing more than slight vibrations inside the gel body.

He didn't know whether Wendy could hear him talking like this, but the Slime should be able to hear him.

As soon as he shouted, a group of slimes surrounded him.

The brown rock slimes and emerald green grass slimes were jumping around him curiously, and the rock slimes would occasionally nudge him with the hard rock armor on their heads.

When the grass slime saw this, it couldn't wait to show him the delicate red flower on its head.

The wet water slime next to him did nothing, but it seemed to be staring at him intently.

Maybe he shouted too loudly just now, and the slimes heard his call.

Although they are just elemental creatures made of elemental gel, they have not yet developed their own intelligence.

But they instinctively felt the strange sound emanating from the wind slime in front of them.

Before he could react, he suddenly felt the wind was becoming a little turbulent.

It seems like a lot of things are running towards this side.

He looked in the direction of the movement and saw a group of humanoid creatures with dark skin, thick and yellow hair, wearing masks with strange patterns and simple clothes, holding wooden sticks or wooden shields and rushing towards him from the direction of the distant forest.

"???"

While he was still standing there in a daze, the Rock Slime had already run away, the Grass Slime had burrowed underground, and the Water Slime was running towards the river behind the big oak tree as if it wanted to jump in.

The other slimes that were about to surround them all turned around and jumped around in panic.

He reacted quickly and jumped up and ran.

"Those guys are Hilichurls, right? They look much scarier than in the game! If we get caught, will they be eaten..."

He quickly jumped along at his fastest speed.

"Hurry up, hurry up!

"I jumped so fast, I must have run very far!"

He turned around confidently and saw a strange mask staring at him.

"Oh shit!" The scene was so horrifying that he accidentally revealed the quintessence of Chinese culture.

The hillbilly was stretching out his hands with hideous white nails, ready to grab him.

"It's over. I died suddenly right after crossing over. This is unheard of.

"Who made me travel through time and space to become a slime? What can a slime do?"

Just as he closed his eyes tightly, not daring to face the scene of being caught, a playful and energetic child's voice rang out:

"We've arrived at the Wind Rises Land, traveler, look! The one mentioned in the commission should be the group of hillbillies!"

"I saw it, Paimon, you hide first." Another clear young voice responded, accompanied by a sound as if something was condensing.

"Well! Kong, you have to be careful!" The voice called Paimon reminded.

After waiting for a while, a certain wind slime did not feel as violently caught as it had imagined, so it opened its eyes nervously.

The long golden hair tied into a pigtail shone brightly under the sun, and the hair danced along with the young man's swinging of the sword.

He could even see the two white feathers, one large and one small, tied at the ends of the blond boy's hair.

The tension of encountering the crisis, the joy of surviving the disaster, and the novelty of seeing that he was alive were intertwined. That wonderful feeling prompted him to stare at the blond boy intently.

"Traveler, be careful! There is a wind slime behind you watching you!" Paimon reminded loudly.

Hearing this, Kong Li turned around and slashed at him with his sword.

He quickly closed his eyes in fear.

But the sword did not come down.

"Eh? This slime...didn't try to attack me." Kong stopped the sword in his hand and looked at him in confusion.

A hillbilly nearby seized the opportunity, picked up a stick, flew into the air, and smashed it hard into the air!

Then Kong reacted and turned around and kicked him away.

"Ya!" The hillbilly shouted an incomprehensible word when he was kicked away.

"Oh, never mind. Let's get rid of the Hilichurls quickly. We can't let them cause trouble again." Paimon said, pointing at the defeated Hilichurls who were fleeing everywhere.

Sora nodded, turned his head to look at the wind slime on the lawn, then followed Paimon and chased after it with swords in hand.

The Wind Slime was left there, staring blankly at Sora who was gradually running away. All he could think about was the glance Sora gave him.

It’s over.

I'm going to become love-brained.

He quickly shook his body, trying to get the dazzling golden eyes out of his head.

“It seems that the protagonist of this world is a male protagonist. That’s right, after all, the official protagonist setting of Genshin Impact is also a male protagonist.

"Yes, I chose the male lead just to comply with the official, not because I think he is better looking..."

Small bubbles appeared one after another inside the body of the slime gel. They floated upward from the lower end, gradually grew larger in the middle, and exploded when they reached the top.

It's like boiling water.

"Ahem, the slime is still too weak. I have to think of a way, otherwise even a hillbilly can kill me alone."

"How can I become stronger?" he thought as he jumped.

"Why did I travel through time as a slime? Why not a dragon, a god, a world tree, or something like that?"

At this moment, he suddenly felt that the wind around him seemed to have stagnated, and his perspective left the slime's body and went vertically downward, through the soil, over the rock layers, to the deepest part of the earth.

A majestic giant tree emits a faint light, but it is this light that makes the entire underground bright.

It grows upside down underground, its roots seem to cover the entire continent of Teyvat, and its branches seem to carry information about all things.

The oak tree in Fengqidi cannot be compared with it at all. The giant tree in front of us can even be described as "vast and boundless".

"World...Tree." A name suddenly flashed through his mind.

His perspective gradually reversed and fell on a huge root system of the World Tree.

“What’s going on…” He hadn’t reacted yet and was about to jump away like a slime, but suddenly he found that he didn’t even have a form here.

A strange and gentle force slowly pulled him, and he followed that force doubtfully...

pain!

it hurts!

Head hurts!

Countless pieces of information flooded into his mind like a tide, and he simply couldn't bear so much information!

Just when he thought his brain was about to explode and he was about to die, all the pain suddenly disappeared.

With a blink of an eye in confusion, he returned to the grass where he had just been, and the stagnant wind began to flow again.

He checked his entire body, but found no changes. The ocean of information that had just flooded into his brain was completely gone.

It was as if nothing that just happened had happened.

"It's like an illusion... What's going on..." He sighed in a low voice, his tone full of confusion.

He glanced at the sun, and was almost motionless, just as he had been when he entered.

"Will time stop after we go in?" he judged.

After a long time, he seemed to remember to complain:

“…Yggdrasil is actually a fraud.

"It can't be that I just let it go in one ear and out the other...

“At that time, I prayed to the Little Grass God. My classmates told me that the Little Grass God was a branch of the World Tree…

"I saw the World Tree, but I didn't go back."

There was another moment of silence.

He muttered to himself with feelings of loss, frustration, and resentment:

“It seems like we won’t be able to go back anytime soon.

“This is where the wind rises, this is Mondstadt’s place.

"Then I won't call myself by my original name anymore. I'll choose a name that's similar to Mond's."

He was melancholy for a while and sighed:

"From now on, my name is Samuel."

"It means 'God listens'. I hope God can hear my wish to go home."
