Teyvat Survival Guide
Chapter 123 Wind Dragon and Wind Dragonborn
In the northwest church district of Mondstadt, Samuel's European-style courtyard.
After Giuliana and I sorted out the things we bought and finished lunch.
Samuel then began to hold on to his previous idea and tried to use a simpler method to create an alchemical creation with the same effect as Timaeus'.
Using my knowledge of alchemy, I soon achieved this goal using four different and simpler methods.
Sitting by the window in the midday sun, Samuel looked at the original creation he was comparing himself to and sighed:
"Timaeus has a good imagination, but his alchemical foundation is a little lacking..."
Then he looked at the alchemy books borrowed from the library placed on the table next to the alchemy table, and tried to perform more advanced alchemy.
At this time, there was a knock on the door.
He was concentrating on his alchemical research, and without turning back he waved his hand, and the door was pushed open by a sudden gust of wind.
Giuliana was already used to it, so she walked in slowly, bowed slightly to him, and then spoke in a respectful tone:
“Your Majesty, just now, Abbess Grace from the West Court of the monastery sent a message saying that the affairs of the Knights Templar and the Church have been almost settled.
"Starting tomorrow, you can continue your classes according to your previous schedule."
Samuel paused holding the test tube.
…ah?
The vacation is over?
…school has started?
What's going on with this sudden feeling of weakness?
Is this the legendary “back-to-school phobia”?
Without waiting for his response, Giuliana continued:
"Today is Tuesday. According to the previous arrangement, tomorrow we will have an alchemy course taught by Mr. Albedo, the chief alchemist of the Knights."
Because she had been serving him all day, she knew the preferences of the white-haired boy wearing a crown in front of her, and she even added:
"…So, Your Majesty, at least tomorrow, you don't need to worry about affecting your alchemy studies."
After hearing her words, Samuel felt much more at ease.
His daily routine before was to spend the day reading in the library, wandering around the stationed area when he was tired, and studying alchemy at night. Occasionally, Tevarin would ask him to go flying for fun.
It was during these two days that I followed Lord Barbatos's advice and started thinking about traveling around Mondstadt.
The start of school is not necessarily a bad thing.
However, he had not attended the class according to the schedule for such a long time that he had actually forgotten what courses the church had originally arranged.
Well... Giuliana will definitely remember it anyway, so just ask her when the time comes.
Thinking about it, he opened his mouth and responded, gave instructions for some daily matters, then asked Giuliana to leave and continued to prepare for the alchemy attempt he had just wanted to carry out.
……
——The afternoon passed as he turned the pages of the alchemy book on the table. Before he knew it, Samuel had spent another afternoon in front of the alchemy table doing research.
Rubbing his sore neck, he raised his head and looked at the setting sun outside the window.
I remember the last time a person like this was doing an experiment in the room for a long time. He even cried because he was too lonely and missed his mother.
In the end, it was Lord Barbatos who noticed his emotional fluctuations and ran over to comfort him.
Now that I think about it...it's pretty childish.
The longing for my mother is still there, but it doesn’t seem to be as strong as before.
It may sound a bit exaggerated, but it is undeniable that he has gradually gotten used to life without his mother in the continent of Teyvat.
Hmm... Every night I think from time to time:
Why hasn't Lord Barbatos woken up yet...
Samuel raised his hands high, relaxed his body, and stretched.
Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of the mirror in the room out of the corner of his eye.
I remember there seemed to be no hair tie in the room... Forget it, I'll just make one.
Just as he was about to operate the alchemy table to make a bunch of hair ties, because of his sensitivity to the element of wind, Samuel suddenly realized that the wind blowing around the church city seemed to be blown into disorder by a huge monster rushing around.
This was not the first time, so he naturally knew the reason.
So he slowly stood up and walked out to the balcony.
He leaned against the white quartz fence and looked at the orange-yellow sky. In the distance, there was a blue dot that was slowly getting bigger.
A familiar and majestic dragon roar came from that direction, accompanied by a hurricane: "Wind Dragonborn——"
Samuel looked carefully, and in just a moment, a large blue lizard with three pairs of wings fluttered towards him!
At this rate, his yard would be smashed to pieces by Tevarin.
But the other party miraculously stopped at an instant, and slowly flapped its wings to land on the eaves of the courtyard where Samuel lived, leaving only the wind that had not reacted yet and blew "rustling" past Samuel.
It lowered its proud dragon head and stared with its azure eyes with vertical pupils at the white-haired boy wearing a crown on the balcony, whose hair was messed up by the hurricane.
After looking for a long time, the first sentence it spoke was:
"…How come you haven't grown at all?"
The handsome young man who was being questioned brushed away the wind in front of him, curled his lips skillfully, then shrugged and spread his hands.
This guy always asks this question every time he comes.
Is it just hoping that he will become a wind dragon like it?
...Well, put yourself in their shoes. If I hadn’t seen my own species for thousands of years, and suddenly encountered a species that might become my own in the future, I would also start to look forward to it on my own.
But he had no choice but to say it.
The future is promising.
Samuel did not answer Tevarin's question, after all, he himself did not know the reason.
He asked back, "Are you planning to fly around Cider Lake today or just fly above the clouds in the city?"
"Let me make this clear first. I have classes tomorrow, so I can't fly with you to the Wind Dragon Ruins like last time."
Just as Tevarin was about to say "Why don't we go to the neighboring land of the God of Rock?" he was startled.
"There is a 'class'?" Feng Long asked curiously, "What is that?"
Samuel was stunned by the question. He really didn't know how to explain this.
"It's just... learning knowledge through other people's teachings..." He answered carefully.
"'Learn knowledge'? Can it make you turn into a wind dragon faster?"
"…cannot."
Tevarin drooped his wings in regret, and then whispered with disdain: "Then what is there to learn?"
"Come on, come on, stretch out your little wings, and let's fly a few laps over Morax's territory.
"I haven't been there in hundreds of years."
Samuel's mouth twitched when he heard this.
If the gods' followers wander around the territories ruled by other gods without permission...wouldn't that really be considered as spying and intrusion?
What if I were shot to the ground by the Emperor?
Well... that's what the emperor would have done in the past. Now that he has a calm personality, it's unlikely that he would do such an impulsive thing.
But then again, he had been in this world for half a year, and even if he occasionally went out for a walk with Tevarin at night, his range of activities was limited to Mondstadt.
He has never been to other countries, and his current knowledge of the other six countries all comes from books.
The reason is simple: the territory of Mond on the continent of Teyvat is too large and too vast.
Even the Jingfu Port in the north of Mondstadt, he had only seen photos of it when reading books, and had never been there in person.
In addition to his status as the Pope, if there were no other circumstances or unexpected events, he would not have left Mondstadt.
Thinking about it, he explained to Tevarin that "the reason for the class is the decree from Lord Barbatos", and at the same time fooled him, "The suppression of resisting bloodline was issued by Lord Barbatos. If we follow His wishes, maybe He will be happy and then remove the suppression."
After hearing this, Long curled his lips, wondering what kind of decree the idle bard had actually issued.
Although it thought so, it was obviously fooled by Samuel and did not force him to go to the territory of the neighboring rock god Morax. Instead, it flew around the Wine Lake a few times and left it alone.
While flying, it obviously looked unhappy, and from time to time it hummed a few times with that magnificent and terrifying dragon roar.
The dragon was very unhappy today and wanted to call the Wind Dragonborn to go play somewhere farther away but was rejected.
So after the walk, Tevarin flew while roaring in dissatisfaction as Samuel stood on the balcony and watched helplessly.
The noise disturbed the peace of the entire church district.
The noble Pope couldn't help but complain in his heart:
Such a big dragon can actually act like a spoiled child...
