In March, Hong Kong Island ushered in the first tourist peak period of the year.

The current Far Eastern product launch conference is different from the previous ones that were exclusively for Far Eastern products. It can be said to be one of the most famous trade fairs in the world.

In addition to the Far East series, major companies around the world have signed up to participate in the Far East Exhibition.

However, unlike the Canton Fair, which covers all products, the Far East Fair mainly focuses on electronic machinery manufacturing technology products.

From automobile machine tools to electronic watches and computers, they have become one of the symbols of Hong Kong Island and are highly valued by the Hong Kong government.

With more categories and more participants, the requirements for the venue are naturally greater. The Far East Group headquarters can no longer accommodate so many manufacturers and audiences.

If the construction of the Hong Kong International Convention and Exhibition Center is completed, it can be used, but that will have to wait for a while.

The Hong Kong government had no choice but to suspend all performances at the Hung Hom Stadium and turn the inside and outside of the Hung Hom Stadium into a venue.

Like the Far East product launch conference, the Far East trade fair followed the style of past conferences and set up a main stage.

It mainly targets some emerging technologies and technologies that have made major breakthroughs, so the main stage is also the focus of the entire week-long Far East Exhibition.

What is taking center stage this year? It is a new liquid crystal technology brought by a new company called Yuehan Technology, TFT liquid crystal technology.

As soon as Yuehan Technology's press conference ended, it received inquiries from many major manufacturers about the possibility of acquisitions or equity investments.

But once I inquired about it, these big manufacturers backed away. It turned out that Yuehan Technology was a Far Eastern company.

Although I dare not say that it is a subsidiary of Far East, its shareholders include Far East Bank and Yunhua Investment, two well-known Luo Family Capital.

Yuehan, Luo Nianzhong's second daughter, the name of the child in Matsuzaka Keiko's belly.

The two pregnant women in the family have already undergone examinations. Keiko Matsusaka is a daughter, and Zhao Yazhi’s second child is a son.

As for her daughter, Luo Nianzhong thought for several days before naming her baby Luo Yuehan, who was still months away from birth. As for her son, he was not born yet, so there was no need to worry.

Regarding Luo Nianzhong's serious differential treatment, if the fact that Luo Anran and Luo Ziyan were not already there, Zhao Meili would probably be angry to death.

Now, she looked at Luo Ziyan and thought about it, and jokingly told Chris that she didn't know how many times the boys in the family would be beaten by their father as they grew up.

No fighting, rational education?

Luo Nianzhong didn't believe in this. He believed that filial sons emerge from under the stick, so when Zhao Yazhi and Chris said this, Luo Nianzhong pretended not to hear and did not refute.

On the day of the two inspections, the TFT liquid crystal technology that Luo Niangzhong invested heavily in research and development was successfully trial-produced. Luo Nianzhong directly named the newly established LCD company with the word "Yuehan".

It just so happens that the moon means bright and bright, and Han means inclusive, which is also in line with the characteristics of liquid crystal.

It took several years and nearly 500 million US dollars was invested in the TFT liquid crystal technology to finally take shape and start preparing for mass production. Luo Nianzhong expressed his congratulations on the achievements of this one of the most important scientific research projects of the Far East Laboratory.

LCD technology has not been developing for a long time. The first company to invent LCD technology was the RCA company acquired by Luo Nianzhong. However, it was also the first company to withdraw from the industry.

LCD technology is now the only one in the island country. Whether it is TN LCD technology or STN and its upgraded versions of FSTN, DSTN and other technologies, it is not an exaggeration to say that the island country manufacturers account for 90% of the world's share.

In this field of liquid crystal technology, Far East cannot surpass the other party. It simply skips this technology that is destined to be slowly eliminated and develops the next generation. This is also Luo Nianzhong's advantage.

Even so, Yuehan Technology, a Japanese manufacturer that owns a large number of basic patents in the LCD field, still cannot get around it. Fortunately, Luo Nianzhong acquired RCA, the originator of LCD, and both parties are happy with the interactive patents.

In this way, the TFT liquid crystal that we are familiar with in later generations was finally conquered by Far East Laboratory.

For at least the next fifty years, Luo Nianzhong dared to say that Yuehan Technology had the right to speak in the field of LCD, for no reason other than the large number of related patents in its hands.

Many people may not be able to tell the difference between these LCD technologies.

To give the simplest example, like electronic cheap watches, the liquid crystal used in calculators is TN liquid crystal technology. It is a solid-state image, just like we can see a bunch of eight-like marks from the side of the calculator.

As for STN technology, the 2G mobile phone screens we use, cheap PDAs, electronic dictionaries, and monitors of unknown brands all use this technology.

As for TFT, basically all mid-to-high-end products with LCD screens that you came into contact with before 2015, such as TVs, mobile phones, computers, notebooks, etc., used this technology.

The most direct comparison with the previous two is that the viewing angle is large, the response speed is fast, and the color quality and contrast are all one level ahead.

The only disadvantage is the price, which is about three times that of STN technology.

"How fast is BenQ's factory construction? Can it be put into production before May?".

"There is no problem in terms of time. If it is quick, it will be mid-April, which can be about ten days in advance."

Since the establishment of the Secretary-General's Office, all major and minor matters in the company are now reported to Zhang Jing. Luo Nianzhong also saves a lot of time by asking him anything.

This guy is also very hard-working. I heard that he often works overtime until very late just to make everything clear.

Luo Nianzhong saw these performances but didn't say anything or praise him. If he could persevere, he would naturally have a bigger stage for development.

As for BenQ, this pure OEM computer foundry founded by Acer founder Shi Zhenrong late last year found Far East Group before its establishment.

The purpose is very simple, that is, to get OEM business in the Far East. For this reason, Shi Zhenrong is willing to give away 30% of BenQ's shares at a bargain price.

But this small profit was not noticed by Welch. Taking stock? It is impossible to give you OEM orders if you don't let me take a stake in Far East.

Just like Jinbao Electronics, which was established three years ago. This Bayan company, which pioneered PC OEM, has 22% of the shares in the hands of Honor Computer.

It is also the largest foundry for Honor computers. Every year, nearly half of Honor’s computers are produced by Jinbao Electronics.

Welch told Shi Zhenrong directly that if he wanted orders from the Far East, he could get shares from parent company Acer.

At that time, TFT liquid crystal technology had made a breakthrough, and foundries were also needed. Welch directly produced this product that would definitely lead an era.

At present, Acer is only a company that produces Chinese terminals and microcomputers, and its market value is only about NT$100 million.

Shi Zhenrong is optimistic about the promotion of TFT LCD screens. Not to mention its superior image quality, the Honor brand and high-end positioning can drive the sales of TFT LCDs.

Very decisive and wise, Far East became Acer's 28% shareholder, which was also negotiated from Welch's proposal to hold % of the shares.

Welch didn't know what kind of behemoth this Bayan company would become in the future, otherwise he wouldn't have let go so easily.

Luo Nianzhong didn't know about this matter, and was stunned when he learned that he had obtained so many shares of Acer.

The next thing is much simpler. Yuehan Technology invested NT$50 billion to jointly build the BenQ foundry with Acer, with each party holding 15% of the shares. NT$ billion sounds like a lot, but according to the current exchange rate, it's only about US$ million.

It’s not that they don’t want to expand the scale of the factory, but Acer can’t afford the money.

This was just cobbled together, and it was only thanks to the order from Honor Computer that the bank dared to lend them a large amount of money.

At this point, the Luo family began to take an important step in controlling the Bayan economy.
